But Dick‘s personhood is a thing to be questioned at the best of times, and he doesn’t even flinch when the blade—expensive, foreign, expertly crafted—whizzes past his ear and lodges into the furniture.

“Get out!” Hood bellows, the anger-fury-violence mixing with a sharp note of despair-fear-why-stop that makes Dick’s heart twist ever so slightly in his cold chest. “Get the fuck out! Fucking go die for all I care!”

Dick tilts his head. This is starting to sound… strangely personal.

Long story short— I had to chase an injured pigeon with a bent wing up and down a busy street to then proceed and carry it through the entire city to the local zoo for treatment. Because authorities told me to either leave it to its fate (it would have died) or do this. And apparently my fatal flaw is compassion for animals.

No dog pics, sadly. I was busy getting to poor thing off the road and away from speeding cars, and giving it some water and head pets while waiting for people to show up.

...I both kind of want details on how the hell that series of words came together for the "why you're delayed on your own self-set schedule" reasoning, (all of which is immediately invalidated as Completely Unnecessary Reasoning by the phrase "HEALTH COMES FIRST") and not sure if the explanation is gonna be one of those "cannot be unseen" things...

Still, as long as your health is priority numbers 1 through 5 and writing is firmly in the "this is fun/stress relief" category instead of a source of stress, that's the most important part.

I don’t even know at this point, sometimes life feels like a weird mix of “Welcome to Night Vale” and the Southern Reach Trilogy which about sums it up 🫡😂

ok ok Ghost I had an idea for a Jason au and I had to run it by you. ok so you know the idea of reincarnation, going from one life to another? imagine if Jason reincarnates, but due to a curse or something he always dies at fifteen. every single time no matter what life he always dies at fifteen, never any older or younger. and he has blurry memories of his past lives but not enough to know what's coming for him. and then time travel shenanigans happen or something and Bruce finds about about all this, and when he's transported back to before the joker and everything when he and Jason haven't fallen out yet, he starts scrambling to break the curse somehow

Poor Jason, doomed by the narrative. We could even have an older Bruce finding Jason’s reincarnated self and taking him in, hoping to do right by this kid that reminds him so much of his dead son, only to lose him all over again when he turns fifteen and REALIZING ALL THOSE VAGUELY CONCERNING NIGHTMARES AND SLEEPY MUMBLINGS ABOUT DYING AND WEREN’T JUST A TEENAGER’S OVERACTIVE IMAGINATION

The time travel happens, maybe Bruce wakes up inside the body of his younger self, and Jason is just laughing at him because Bruce looks like he’s seen a ghost when he sits down for breakfast (LIKE BRUCE DIDNT CARRY HIM BACK TO THE CAVE BLOODY AND BROKEN YEARS AGO—).

And Bruce knows he should try to get back to his own time, he knows- but instead he calls an emergency meeting with every single Magic user and has every Bat rally around Jason with one firm command of keeping him safe.

The Bats are confused. Jason is annoyed. Bruce is panicking.

“Gotcha, Replacement,” Jason purrs, the glee of victory rumbling through him in a peculiar type of mania Tim’s come to associate with the Pit. Something that should be disconcerting in its unpredictability, but just makes Tim roll his eyes and turn his head, cheek pressed into the table as he gives Jason a look over his shoulder.

“Congratulations,” he says drily, flexing his hands, perfectly content to remain exactly where he is. “You’ve achieved your original plans of vengeance. Now what?”

Jason sneers, but it’s half hearted at best and his eyes are bright and blue, “Now I’ll carve you up all pretty for the others to find. Haven’t you been paying attention, pretender?”

“You monologue at least twice every hour, Jason. I’ve learned to filter the crazy.”

Do you remember what sparked your Selkie au? It’s a very out there idea so I’m curious 👀

I’ve always been fascinated with the ocean and its mythical creatures! And selkies just have that inherent sort of ✨tragedy✨ about them.

When I was writing the Selkie au I’m pretty sure I also saw some fanart of Selkie batfam and read some fics with Selkie!jason, so that definitely also helped with inspiration. And mostly I just wanted an excuse to make Jason and Orm friends 🦭

And another fun thing to consider— Suguru probably wouldn’t even think of contacting Satoru about any of this.

Our depresso bean is on a solo trip to save his bestie without ever thinking “hey, I should tell Satoru about this. I’m sure he would help”.

BUT SIKE because Suguru is gone for all of one day (he’s got so many things to do and take care of, ain’t nobody got time for Jujutsu High right now, or a note) before Satoru is scratching at the walls and threatening bodily harm on people if they don’t find Suguru in the next twenty minutes.

Satoru gets the defection scare but it this time Suguru eventually comes back.

(Shoko is too tired for this shit and keeps sending Suguru memes of Satoru’s breakdowns in between)
