my current deltarune prediction:

Since we know that Kris is working with the knight and in cahoots with Carol, I think their goal is to bring Dess back to life. I think this for a couple of reasons.

1: Gerson's addition to the story served two purposes in my opinion. number 1 being to further Susie's character development. His secondary purpose was to introduce the idea of temporarily reviving a monster.

Gerson was only 'alive' while the fountain was unsealed. If the Roaring Knight unleashes the Roaring and coats the light world in darkness, then it'd be like an unseal-able fountain, allowing Dess to come back to life.

2: Chapter 3 and 4 showed how close Kris was to the Holiday family. I am NOT a believer in the whole 'kris is evil' stuff, so I firmly believe that they don't want bad things to happen to their friends.

Snowgrave shows that they still really care about Noelle, and you know what would make Noelle really happy? Getting her sister back. Plus, since the dead can come back through this method, if Rudy dies (given his hospitalization), they can get him back too.

idk how Sans and Papyrus trans-dimensionally travel in the midst of this or why Gaster is involved.

...maybe the darkness will allow Gaster to come back too??

Susie typically uses the first person pronoun “ore” which is pretty rare for female characters (women using pronouns like “boku” and “ore” is pretty much nonexistent outside the realm of fiction, but even for fictional characters “boku” is usually the pronoun to get across “this girl is a bit rough and tomboyish”)

i believe this was specifically Toby’s idea, and Keiko Fukuichi actually did say in an interview that she was concerned that Japanese players might be confused about her gender. this is probably part of why in one of Susie’s first scenes, when Kris sees her eating chalk, she actually starts off using the traditional feminine “atashi” before switching to “ore.” it also just fits how the scene worked in English (Susie pretending to be calm before turning aggressive and threatening) imo

Susie does switch back to using “atashi” several times, most notably when she’s speaking to Toriel. Susie is MUCH more polite around Toriel than any other character, and i believe Toriel is the only adult character Susie refers to with the “-san” honorific
