Let me note down some things that changed this week. Small things that we don't notice until we remove the thing that makes us do them:
+ I (almost) stopped taking out my phone just to take it out. I have no notifications, so I have no reason to get my phone out
+ I got way less screen time in. I did use my laptop, but at least I didn't use my time mindlessly scrolling (I played Potion Craft instead)
+ I stopped procrastinating watching a damn video. Like- I would spend 30 minutes on my phone before watching a 10-minute video. Why??
+ I realized how unoriginal smartphones are in their design. They all look pretty much the same (sorry)
+ It is harder to find people you want to talk to. I have no internet on this phone, so obviously I can't message people on Instagram if I don't have their number. That kinda sucked
+ I'm a tiny bit less distracted. This is very subjective, considering I'm just usually distracted and I can't concentrate
Today I met with some friends and it was nice to talk. Obviously, they still have smartphones lol, but I felt more present and listened way more to what was being said to me. I guess it's a bit hard to explain haha.
Anyways, I haven't touched my smartphone in so long, it's weird lol
I love this. It happened to me when I got a better tablet too.
So I got an iPad last Christmas and have spent this past year learning how to draw???
Sometimes it's hard to feel like you're making progress day-by-day, and I've still got SO much more I want to learn, but putting everything side-by-side like this is really encouraging.
Art is a journey and it's a nice feeling to know firsthand that it's never too late to just jump into it!
Funny story, I went to fetch something for my mom this morning. I gave the doctor some documents and then she told me to “go sit and browse the internet or smth while I wait”- my-- my phone has no internet. I played Cannonball for half an hour. Good time, but I wish I had some music to pass the time.
