My 2024 Summary of Art! I can't believe it's been a full decade since I first started doing these. I wasn't able to make a lot of personal work this year, but I do notice the polish on my illustrations improving; especially since October. Here's to 2025! ✨💕

this is kind of a hashtag summaryofart but also kind of a hashtag artvsartist because i put myself at the end i guess whatever i cant be assed to do two of these grids. end of year thoughts under da cut

i didn't have a lot of free time for leisure drawing this year... i feel like i say that EVERY year but idk looking back at my tumblr archive.. its not lookin great. I really worked my ass off at my day job most of this year like the show i was on was pretty challenging and kept my brain churning on it even after hours. plus every freelance job i did this year.. PLUS the fact that I did I think 10 (if im counting right?) conventions/tabling events?? I feel like I did a lot of merch prep to fill out con tables and such but i really long to do bigger illustrations and comics and i didn't really get the time to.. I'm actually planning to do less cons next year because I think I did too many haha. for the first time I'm feeling the temptation to fill out these "summary of art" memes with a big NDA square or whatever because I'm really proud of a lot of the art i made this year but.. unfortunately ...i can't show any of it! at least not yet. I've always thought the nda joke was just an excuse made by artists who feel ashamed about not drawing outside work (or smug about having paid gigs). and in a way i still think that but for once i can empathize a little lol. While I didn't get to spend as much time on personal work as I wanted this year... I'm still kinda proud of the stuff I did make! I spent a lot of 2023 when I was unemployed going to figure drawing sessions and I think it really paid off, I feel a lot better about my character drawing now. Not... not 100% confident but a lot better than I used to feel about it haha. like i didn't really draw that many bgs here bc i drew so many bgs at work I didn't have the energy for it.. but the characters actually look good i think so! I'm happy about that.

My Artwork Summary of 2024!! (Using this amazing template!)

So much this year! Commission, comics and TTRPG's! I've also had to get a new laptop and new programs to update, which has been very good for my art I think, and Art Club, with my friends, has really helped me warm up and experiment this year! I'm so proud of us! I Wanna celebrate the big things I've done: The Fey butch Zine, A comic with f(r)iction, Funding Confluence and Pyre and creating work for a few other TTRPGS! Also, I went to Big Bad Con, and met friends as well as joined the community and showed what I can do with a world!! I've been real busy with bigger projects this year, Confluence coming out on Backer kit and funding(!!) and with Pyre, the first comic that' I've had full artistic credits on, I havent had as much time for my personal projects. That's gonna be my focus next year, I wanna work on Comics that are original and maybe expand that to ttrpg or games, who knows! I also want to be a bit more present here, and chat and build the community, maybe even do the art club thing on communities! but we'll see, and of course, Thank you all for being here, supporting me and just being so sweet! Love you guys! To the next year!!

last year on new year's eve I wrote down this goal for 2024:

"start learning how to draw (basic stuff)".

I didn't expect to learn so much so quickly and looking at my progress now after 8 months makes me emotional.

this year was all about getting started.

2025 is gonna be about getting good.

Yet another year gone through, a lot of stuff drawn, so much more that needs to be created but the time shall come.

This year's end is not much happy for me and i only wish for a better upcoming one without this many worries and struggles.

It was an interesting year, so productive and eventful I had a hard time choosing the best pieces (｀・∀・´)

Honestly, this is the first time I wasn't ready to sum up: it's only December 28th — I still have four days for some wips to finish this year! ∑(≧∀≦)

But time moves forward inexorably, and the fifth year is behind... Thank you guys for going through this big journey with me╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ Let's move on! ☆
