Okay, but something similar would totally happen to Obi-Wan. He would do it as a joke or on a dare from Quinlan but he'd forget about it then Anakin hears "please tell Master Che that (name) is here" and Anakin never lets Obi-Wan live it down because its something like "Warrior Jedi" or some shit. But then it's equally as likely that Anakin had an instance of "The Chosen One is here" and everyone explodes because they totally did not think they'd actually use it.

Or when Obi-Wan takes 9-year-old Ani to get a checkup they tell the receptionist that he would like to be called "Chosen One" and then laugh about it and prank Qui-gon with it but eventually forget about it until the Clone War. Ahsoka just was trying to go to her appointment but hears "Chosen One, Warrior Jedi, and Padawan Tano are here" and she's just confused as hell and Anakin and Obi-Wan, the idiots, look at each other and explode.

Anyway, that's what I think happened.

nah they pay rent alright. they pay rent by killing people, getting slashed with a knife, by being abducted, by loosing literally everyone they love, and by being betrayed.

I’m going back through my old stuff and this came up and it’s reminding me of that one scene where suited Vader is doing the same thing

Angry, hot tears spilled down his face as he backed up and jumped at the door again, letting out a yelp as the hard wood bounced in the frame but held him in. Frantic, the detective rushed over and tried opening the window. The thought of breaking it crossed his mind but was quickly dismissed. He ran into the bathroom, almost throwing himself into it. He tried the two doors but once again came up empty-handed."

Little snippet of the book I'm working on. For context, Alex is a detective that made a stupid mistake and got kidnapped by the killer he's been tracking. Big oops. There's two more paragraphs that detail his breakdown after he tries the doors, but spoiler alert- they're locked.
