He absolutely loved seeing that spark in your eyes

The moment your eyes locked onto the limited edition art book for your favorite game, you were a goner

He saw the way you gingerly picked it up like you were going to break it and his heart melted

You were radiating excitement, clearly biting your tongue to keep yourself from bursting

So he decided to be the best boyfriend and ask you about it, and he was floored at how much you knew

You went on about how they took inspiration from different artists from different time periods and even listed the pieces they used, pulling them up on your phone to show him

Only going into further detail on the inspiration behind those art pieces, he was amazed by how much you knew about art

Your knowledge seemed endless and the excitement and awe in your voice was infectious

John ‘Soap’ MacTavish:

You’re never gonna live it down sweetheart

You both were driving home when a commercial on the radio came on announcing your favorite band, you gasped so hard it scared the shit out of him and he slammed the brakes

Then you quickly apologized and explained what happened, Johnny couldn’t stop laughing, despite your breathless giggles telling him to shut up

When you got home, Johnny bought the tickets and asked you to tell him everything about the band

You wasted no time putting together a playlist of their songs by order of your most to least favorite, even going so far as to explain why they’re your favorite and how they became your favorite

Your smile could light up the sky, he felt like he was right there with you when you recounted the first time you heard the songs and how you were feeling

Now that he knows this band is a catalyst for that enchanting side of you, he’ll do everything he can to bring it out of you

He lives for the sparkle in your eyes and the excitement in your voice, it’s addictive

Ever since that first time he saw you get so excited when you two walked past the pastry shop, he decided he only ever wanted to see that look on you forever

So he makes it a point to take you to different bakeries a few times a month, just so he can see that sparkle in your eyes

He’d ask you about the different pastries, where they come from, how they’re made, what are some different flavor combinations you’d recommend, he wants to know it all

And he’s watching you explain it all the whole time, chin resting on his palm, hearts in his eyes as you answer his questions diligently

He almost worries that you’re not breathing when you go into detail about why the egg custard pastry is such a valued desert in Portugal

God he loves seeing you get so excited, he loves the joy in your eyes, and he loves hearing all your knowledge, he could listen to you forever if you asked him to

you are so valid for this and I love you (this is so long I’m sorry but also I’m not, I loved this)

Holy shit there is no living being alive that could possibly quell his excitement when you break the news

He knows you work and seeing you not at home and coming home smelling like sweets was odd but he trusted you and as long as you’re safe that’s all that matters

You break the news over dinner, you invited the rest of his team over and the two of you teamed up to make an incredible spread with you in charge of desserts, obviously

You refused to tell him what it was and you were adamant about it being a surprise so he relented and gave you your space

Everyone was thrilled with the food and you stood up to go get dessert, you stood in the kitchen taking deep breaths, doing your best to stop your hands shaking

Then you brought out a gorgeous Victoria Sponge cake, identical to the one from the opening sequence of Bake Off

And while they’re digging in and moaning about how amazing it is, you turn to Simon directly and he’s tuned into you like he knows

As soon as the words “I’m gonna be on bake off” leave your mouth, he grabs you and pulls you into a hug, he’s squeezing you so hard you feel like your chest will burst

You barely notice that Soap is bear hugging the both of you

Months pass and Simon’s still not home, he’s been keeping in touch but it looks like this deployment is gonna keep him away longer

That doesn’t mean he’s not immediately binging your season as soon as it’s available (I know that’s not how it works but for the story it does)

Simon and the rest of the task force don’t move a fucking muscle until they get to the end

He watches with bated breath as you get through the technical challenges, muttering to yourself to stay calm, he’d chuckle when he’d hear you say something he’s said in the past

Soap and Gaz would cheer the loudest when you win star baker, Price would chuckle when he glances at Simon to see the relief and pride and tears in his eyes

With each round you’ve passed through, Simon feels like he’s about to go through cardiac arrest, his chest getting tighter and heart pounding harder

“She’s got this in the bag, LT.” Encouraged Johnny, slapping a supportive hand on his knee. Simon barely registered the words as he saw you working on the signature bake, his throat getting tight once he recognized the cake,

“That’s our wedding cake.”

“It’s my wedding cake.” You spoke on the screen, a smile splitting your face and blush and flour dusting your cheeks, “It’s the one sweet my husband-”

“-couldn’t get enough of.” He finished your sentence through his throat threatening to close, Simon’s eyes never left you on the screen, he was so focused on your movements, watching how you kept calm, running through the steps, he’s never been so proud.

His heart sank when you hurt yourself during the technical bake, but he took great pride when you applied pressure to the wound and raised your arm above your head, he got a chuckle and an elbow to he ribs from Soap as soon as he saw it,

“Teachin’ her well, LT.” He teased, earning a pointed side eye from the man himself. Not for long because you were back in the groove and fuck you’re so strong and he’s so proud.

This is it. You’ve finished baking the showstopper and you’ve stood through their critiques with poise, grace, and that beautiful smile he loves so much. Now you’re standing outside with the other competitors, holding hands, your head bowed waiting for the announcement. At this point Simon is on his feet, not even aware that he’s standing. Soap, Gaz, and Price are all stood beside him with Soap putting a hand on Simon’s shoulder and squeezing.

You nearly sank to your knees when your name was called, the only reason you didn’t was because of the two bakers keeping you upright. They hugged you before letting you go, Paul Hollywood gave you a tight hug, Prue was matronly as always- cupping your face and giving you a soft hug, Noel and Matt hugged and swayed you as they gave you the beautiful bouquet.

Simon was watching it all with tears in his eyes and a hand covering his mouth in shock, he was so thrilled for you but so heartbroken he couldn’t be there to squeeze you like you deserved. Meanwhile Soap and Gaz were jumping and shouting like their favorite team just won the World Cup, Price walked up to Ghost and wrapped an arm around his shoulder, it was a rare moment he allowed himself to lean on someone else.

“That’s my fuckin’ girl.” He breathed, “I knew you could do it.”

He doesn’t even waste a second the moment he sees you again, he’s hugging you as hard as he can and spinning you around. He’s kissing every inch of your face he can reach, he’s crying for god’s sake, he’s so god damn proud of you. He grabbed the hand that you injured and kissed the raised scar on your finger before wrapping you up in a hug again.

Yes, he’s proud of you. Yes, he knew you could get in and win. And yes, he will be asking a million questions about what it was like. He’s never been so talkative, he had a sore throat by then end of the night.

He might not get swept up in the energy but he loves to watch you, it fills him with warmth to see you get so excited

He may lose track of all the things you’re into, so you might need to be a little patient with him

“You’re painting now, I thought you were making jewelry?”

He means well, he just struggles to keep up

He’ll support your hyper fixations but will try to reel it in a little bit

If you start a project but then hop over to something else because it caught your eye, he’s happy to support it but at least finish that last bit

He’ll lose track but don’t take it personally, he’s trying to keep up!

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy listening to you talk about it, especially when it’s something you can teach him, he loves learning from you and gets a kick out of all the new things you could possibly get into

I can feel myself getting sick! And I hit my head super hard today and I’ve had a crazy headache ever since! So here’s the 141 taking care of their sick idiot s/o!

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley:

He heard it the moment you spoke for the first time that day, you sounded congested and nasally

He made you some tea and heated up some soup, you laughed and asked about occasion

You knew you were getting sick but you’re a stubborn bitch so that means that you’re not sick and everything is fine

He knows you so he just shrugs and asks what’s wrong with soup for breakfast

He lets you go about the day, only stepping in when he sees you’re getting fatigued, discreetly suggesting you two lay down and watch a movie in bed

You’re getting the snacks ready when you drop the unopened bag of popcorn, as you’re straightening up you slammed your head on the granite countertop

It was so loud, Simon sprinted across the living room to make sure you were ok

He looked at your head and made sure you weren’t bleeding, when he didn’t see any surface damage he rushed to the freezer and pressed an ice pack on the back of your head

It was a little embarrassing and it took a lot to resist the urge to cry, he saw how much you were laughing to and playing it up and knew you felt worse than you let on

He guided you to bed, ice pack still pressed o your head, he ushered you under the covers, checking to make sure you weren’t concussed

Simon brewed a fresh cup of tea with a generous amount of honey and a light squeeze of lemon

He put on the movie and had a handful of throat lozenges in his pocket at the ready, fingers running through your hair, checking in on you and monitoring your symptoms

He blames himself for not interfering sooner but hearing your small cough and feeling you nuzzle into his chest made him feel needed, it was nice taking care of you, and a refreshing new way of being relied on

John ‘Soap’ MacTavish:

You kinda have to tell him if you’re feeling unwell

Not to say he doesn’t notice it when he sees you a little more fatigued and glassy eyed than usual

But as soon as you tell him you’re throat’s hurting, he’s up and making you some tea, while it’s brewing, he’s getting some cold medicine together and queuing your favorite movie

While he’s doing that he hears a loud ‘thunk’ and immediately runs over to check on you, he sees the cabinet door open and he sees you bent over and cradling your head

He can’t help the chuckle that comes out but he immediately shuts his mouth the moment he catches your glare

He fishes in the freezer for the ice pack and presses it against your head, he sends you to lay down on the couch but he catches you wobbling as you’re walking

He was at your side in a second, he hurried back to the kitchen and got some water for you

He sat beside you and rubbed your back, careful of his volume and careful not to move you too much

Needless to say, you didn’t lift a finger the rest of the day

John Price:

Like Ghost, he heard it in your voice when you first said ‘good morning’

Except he was more adamant on catching it sooner rather than later, he made you some Theraflu and didn’t move an inch until you finished it

If he heard you cough throughout the day, he’d magically appear with a cough drop ready for you to eat

Your water bottle doesn’t have a chance to be empty, same thing with your tea cup, it always managed to stay filled

You were loading up the laundry machine when you smacked your head hard against the rim, it was so loud John was at your side in a heartbeat

He cradled your head and checked your scalp for a cut or any blood, when he didn’t see any he gently applied pressure and walked you both to the kitchen where he grabbed the ice pack

He guided you to the bedroom where he instructed you to sit on the bed, he noticed your walking was a little uneven and all his training came to him in a split second

He walked you to the bed and knelt down in front of you, asked you to follow his fingers, took out his phone and turned on his flashlight, checking your pupils and asking you to follow it

He held the ice pack firmly against your head and ran down the list of symptoms, asking you and making sure you were ok

He didn’t leave your side for the rest of the day unfortunately for your partially loaded laundry

Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick:

You told him that morning that you were feeling congested and he went to pharmacy as soon as you mentioned it

When he came back, he saw you doubled over and clutching your head, he sets the bags down and hurried to your side

“Sweetheart, what happened?” He asked, you explained that you dropped your phone under the table and didn’t realize how close you were to it when you hit your head on the edge

“Babe if you missed me that much, you could’ve called, I would’ve come back sooner.” He teased, you punched him in the arm as hard as you could,

When your punch was lighter than usual, he got worried and had you sit down on the couch

He handed you the bag full of snacks and pulled out a bottle of Gatorade for you to slowly drink

While you were doing that he went to the kitchen to grab an ice pack and wrap a towel around it

He sat beside you and handed it to you to press to the area, in the meantime he opened a package of cough lozenges and handed you one

He got up and started making your favorite ramen flavor and brewing a cup of lemon ginger tea with a generous helping of honey

He sat beside you and held the ice pack against your head while you ate, he turned the tv on to your favorite show and kissed your head and your cheek

He made sure all your needs were tended to for the day and spoiled you rotten
