first time he saw you
Tumblr media
When the guards were exposing everyone, and their reasons of being in debt: you were one of the first to show up. When he saw that, His exact thought was;
"What is she doing in a place like this..?"

how he acts around you.
He noticed himself smiling more, which you loved. He had this warm smile that instantly made you feel safe. Very cliche, but true. He'd probably very subtly flirt, like "accidentally" touching your shoulder, or something. He'd look at you with stars in his eyes. You were the only thing that would matter to him at that point in time, and he did everything he could to make sure you were gonna win by his side.

the moment he realized he loved/s you
The moment he realised he liked you.
It would probably have been the third game. That final moment when he nearly fell to the ground, but by some miracle he got back onto the bridge. He would've been thinking about all the things he'd wish he'd said/done, and almost out of nowhere, he thought;
"I wish i told (Y/N) i loved her."

Classical music rang in your ears as you sat up, yawning, trying to comprehend your surroundings. Gym hall, at least 200 beds.. You were back in the games.
"(Y/N)! You're here! I was.. scared you wouldn't come. Glad you decided to come back."
He was leaning against your bed frame.
"Yeah, most of the people were right. There's nothing outside for most of us. Might as well risk it all, although there isn't really an 'all'."
"Right."
"So, do you know what and/or when the next game is?"
"No they havent announced it yet. Get out of bed, we need to wake up the old man."
As you were walking down, you thought about him the night the both of you were thrown out of a van.
But it was wrong to think like that. The guy could probably be your dad.
"Hey, sir. Wake up, sir. Wake up. get up, huh?" He began to panic. Not for long though.
"Uh-huh."
"Are you alright?"
"You're here. So player 456 came back."
"Yeah. I got scared. I thought you were gone for good."
"Hey, I won't die so easily you know."
"I know you won't. I stopped playing because of you and now I'm back because of what you said. I'm actually sort of partial to you."
'What you said'..? What was that supposed to mean
The old man laughed.
You looked around and noticed a few groups had begun to form.
"A lot of people decided to come back."
456 sighed. "You're right. I guess everybodys desperate. Oh-"
"Huh?"
"There, look- there's the woman who couldn't name her child. She came back too."
"You're right. Think she.. Named her kid yet?"
"I dont know..-"
"Gi-hun."
Their conversation was interrupted by Sang-woo.
"Oh, Sang-woo."
"So you're here. I didn't think I'd see you."
"Neither did I."
Awkward Chuckle.
"..And you..? Your mom, did you see her?"
199, the kind man who saved Gi-hun saw us. I gave him a little wave and a gesture meaning "Come here, it's fine.", which he understood.
"Hey, good sirs. And ma'am."
"Oh hey look, there's my angel.."
"I'm happy to see all of you. Thanks for the bus fare sir. It meant so much to me."
"What, you gave him the bus fare?"
"Because he said he'd walk Yeouido to Ansan."
"That's so heartwarming. We're like a bunch of soldiers at training camp" He noticed you just awkwardly standing there, not knowing what to say/do next, or whether you should do anything at all.
"..Well, most of us" He corrected himself.
"A training camp is what?"
"You know, it's like the army shooting guns."
"Ohh! Soldiers all training together?"
"Uh-huh. Wait a minute. Since we're on the subject now, you should join me. We should just form our own team, don't you think?"
"Youre right. Who knows what game theyll have us play next. It wouldnt hurt to be in a group so were ready for anything."
"Hey, you should join up with us. I mean we already know he's crazy strong. He lifted me up with one hand like it was nothing at all."
"You mean.. that you.. I can join you?"
"Oh, yeah, sure.-"
You spoke without thinking.
"Can I join as well?.. I mean.. I don't ha-"
"Of course, I mean if you weren't there I would've died of hypothermia out there."
"Uh, so then youre the new recruit.." Gesturing to 199. "He's the skilled corporal, and that means I'm a sergeant. And (Y/N).. You're the nurse."
"Oh, man. Thank you sir."
"Please just drop the sir, will you?"
You gave Sang-woo a dirty look. Why was he so rude?
"Excuse me. If you don't mind.. Can I join up with all of you?"
"Yeah, of course.. And you can be the.. Hold on.. So you can be the old mayor who's been in the army his entire life."
"Thanks so much."
Both laugh. It was such a heartwarming moment.. If only Sang-woo wasn't there, it would have probably been one of the best.
"Yeah, quite a team we've got going here. Damn! Let's do this."
"Attention. Your meal time begins now. Please form a line in the center of the room. Let me repeat the instructions. All players, Your meal time begins now. All players, please form a line in the centre of the room."
More classical music. Is it supposed to be relaxing? Because it was giving you a headache.
You were the first one to get your food. Then it was Gi-hun.
"Hey.. are you okay? You were kinda quiet back there."
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just didn't really know what to say."
Sang-woo started walking towards you both and it went quiet.
The old man and 199 started walking back together. Once they arrived, you all sat down and opened your lunches.
It was a simple bento box, consisting of a sunny-side up egg, plus kimchi and a small portion of vegetables as a side dish.
"Ahh.. this brings back old memories."
"You remember eating lunches like these too?"
"Of course. My wife was always in the kitchen every morning. She'd pack lunches just like these ones for me and my kids."
"I wish the rice was piping hot. At least they could have heated it up a little. Godd.. all we need is a stove. Remember doing that? The little briquette stove we had in our elementary school classroom? We'd stick our lunch boxes on it. It'd get burning hot on us, too. And the rice would get all scorched. Hmm?"
You loved the way he talked, and acted. He was trying to get everyone to think about happy memories, in the most horrible circumstances.
It probably made you and the old man happier than it did Sang-woo: who didn't seem to care for any of it.
"Gi-hun."
"Hmm?"
"Let's try to stay on the subject. How about putting your mind to what the game could be?"
How about putting your mind into a shredder?
His mood seemed to drop, which made yours drop too.
"Hey, no one can figure that out. We'll figure out when its time."
"You know, considering the last one we did, I think therell be another old game kids played, just like i used to."
"I bet youre right there. Think of all the ones they could choose; Ddakji, Dabanggu, there's Hopscotch, Biseokchigi and Tag, Don Katsu, Freeze Tag. And for girls, there's Gonggi, Elastics, Cat's Cradle and... What else?"
"I don't know how to play those."
"You don't know any of the games I listed?"
199 shook his head to say no.
"Hey, listen to me. All those games are easy to learn. And we'll teach them to you."
"That's much appreciated."
-------
"Hey, is there any chocolate milk? I can't drink the normal kind. Oh, when I was a kid, I had problems digesting it, so I skipped milk when I was in school."
"Ah, shit."
"My goodness, as a kid, I'm willing to bet you got spanked a lot."
"How did you know?"
"My son did too, he was just like you, friend!"
You got your food and followed behind the old man, before he went ahead of Gi-hun
Gi-hun turned to you and went;
"I feel bad for him."
"So do I."
"Hey sir, why aren't you eating that?"
He grabbed it and showed it to 199.
"Have it."
"You mean it?"
"I don't eat much in the mornings."
"You know geniuses never eat much."
Sang-woo sighed.
"Take mine too."
"Thank you sir."
Both you and 199 smiled. You didn't know it yet, but Gi-hun was starting to notice the way you looked at him after doing little acts, even if sometimes it was unintentional genorosity. He noticed the way you adored him (to be fair, you did also adore 199 but it was different with him).
That fucking classical music again.
Wait that means a voice-over should start speaking soon-
"Attention. The second game will begin shortly. Please follow the staff's instructions and swiftly make your way towards the game hall. I will now repeat the instructions. Attention. The second game will begin shortly. Please follow the staff's instructions and swiftly make your way towards the game hall."
You made your way through a jungle gym looking thing.
What is the obsession with gyms?
"Players, before the second game begins choose one of the four available shapes you see on the wall. Once you've chosen your shape, please stand in front of it."
"Does she mean those?"
"So our options are circle, triangle, star and umbrella."
"I dont know. They seem very familiar."
Sang-woo seemed zoned out, so we all went silent and waited for him to notice. Gihun did speak up after a while.
"Sang-woo."
"Huh?"
"Got anything?
"Not yet."
"Choose a shape and stand in front of it immediately. Choose a shape and stand in front of it immediately." Repeated the woman on PA.
"Should we play this together?"
"That could be dangerous. At this point, we don't know anything. I think it would put us at a disadvantage if we just choose one."
"You think?"
"There's this saying in investing; don't keep all your eggs in one basket."
"Listen to him. He was first in his class in SNU business school. And in my hometown he was a genius, a prodigy."
"Really? Is that so? Well then he is an incredible guy, huh?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"Like Sang-woo told us, let's all split up and take it from there, huh? Who should go where?"
"Alright, let me go triangle."
"What about you?
"Dayira."
"Huh?"
199 made a circle shape in the air. "Dayira."
"A circle, you mean?"
"Yeah. It looks just like the moon where I'm from."
"That means we have a star and an umbrella."
"You pick first. Go on."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Uhh.. then I'm choosing the umbrella."
"Hmm.. you sure? Why..?"
"Oh, growing up, I'd always lose my umbrella so my mom would get angry. So then, she gave me the broken ones to take to school. I always wanted her to get me one of those goof umbrellas like the other kids."
"Mhmm."
"Don't want the star? Or do you want to switch with me?"
"Oh, no, the star sounds great. Good with me. Besides, you don't see many stars these days. "
"Wait, (Y/N).. What are you picking?"
"Circle."
Ali looked over Sang-woo and smiled at you.
"Great. Once we know what we're up against, let's set up a strategy together."
"Sure."
"Alright."
"Gi-hun, wait."
"Huh?"
"..Nothing."
"The time to select your shape has ended. I will now explain the rules of the next game."
The doors opened, revealing a table with circular tins on them.
"All players, please take one case each from the table at the front of your line. All players, please take one case each from the table at the front of your line."
You got your tin directly after 199.
It was honeycomb.
"What does this mean?"
"So basically, you poke around the end of the candy with the needle given to you."
"Ohh.. Doesn't 456 have umbrella?"
'Oh god.' you thought.
You looked over your shoulder to see Gi-hun opening his tin.
"The second game is sugar honeycombs. The shape you have chosen is the shape you must remove from the honeycomb."
You heard Gi-hun mutter "I'm dead."
You gave him a nervous smile, to which he returned.
"Sir, I'm done."
"Player 455: Pass."
You notice, even though he's nervous; Gi-hun smiled when he heard that.
"The Dayira, I did it. I'm done.. Look, I'm done."
"Player 199: Pass."
You and 199 had.. Slightly different tactics.
Yours was to slowly scratch around the circle, and then break around the edges.
199's was to break it off piece by piece.
Both worked.
You turned around to see Gi-hun with his ass in the air, licking the honeycomb.
The gunshots did make you jump a couple times, though.
You didn't hear "Player 456: Pass." for what seemed like forever, and you couldn't hear anything other than your own panicked thoughts.
You went through denial and trying to comfort yourself over, and over, and over again.
But the feeling of happiness you felt when you saw Player 456 pass through the door was immeasurable.

squid game; ep. 2
seong gi-hun x reader.
taken from my wattpad (@RickSanchezski)
words: 1790.
---
It was dark, and quiet. But the uncomfortable silence, that made you sick to your stomach simply because of the reason why. The massacre. You couldn't stop thinking about it.
The memories replayed over and over again, almost mockingly.
"Sang-woo, you helped me.. And you did too. You saved my life out there."
"You are alive, that is what matters."
You looked up and saw the guy that had just saved Gi-huns life. You liked him, he was very polite.
The same buzz that happened earlier. The door opened. The same hot pink suits.
Everyone stood up.
It felt way too deja vu, and you could feel yourself spiraling into panic. Gi-hun noticed that but really didn't want to come off as rude, so he simply asked;
"(Y/N)..? Are you okay..?"
Before you could answer, the masked men spoke.
"You have all made it through the first game. Congratulations. You're moving on. I will now announce the results of the first game."
You looked above to a screen, showing the amount of players.
"Out of 456 players, 255 were eliminated, and 201 players successfully completed the first game.
A hysterical woman came through.
"Mister please, listen, i'm so sorry" she cried out. "I swear i will pay what i owe. I'll do it, ill pay it all. Please sir, i have a child. Oh! so young, I still need to register, and I still need to name my child sir. Please sir, let me le-"
You felt bad for her, so desperate. but you couldn't help but admit it was kind of funny, seeing how people's attitude changed, including your own.
"Please, I'm so sorry. Sir im begging you, Let me leave and i swear I'll find a way to pay it all. Let me go home."
This started a chain reaction of people getting on their knees and begging.
"There seems to be a misunderstanding. We are not trying to hurt you or collect your debts.Let me remind you that we're here to give you a chance."
"A chance? We play some kids games. And you shoot us. You want me to choose that?
That's some chance. We may be in debt, sir... but that doesn't justify killing us all."
"This is just a game."
"Killing everyone out there was a... game to you, huh?"
"They were simply eliminated for breaking the rules of the game. If you just follow the rules, you can leave this place safely with the prize money we promised."
"Just keep your damn money. I don't care! Let me just go home. That's all I want."
"Let us leave. Let us go."
"Consent form clause 1. A player is not allowed to stop playing."
"Come on! You think you'll get away with this, huh? The police will come. They'll bust in here any minute now. They'll be here since we all disappeared."
" Yeah. And I bet they have everybody's phones tracked here already.Look at all your hostages. You're doomed if you don't let us go!"
"We're all dead-"
He was interrupted by a gunshot, and everyone screamed.
"Consent form clause 2. A player who refuses to play will be eliminated."
Sang-woo began. "Consent form clause 3. If all the players agreed to stop playing, the games are allowed to end.
...Or am I wrong?"
"You are correct."
"So let's vote on ending this. If the majority wishes to leave this place, then everyone gets to go home, right?"
"All right, as you wish. We will take a vote to decide on the termination of the game. Before we vote, let me announce the prize money for the game as previously promised."
Wads of cash fell into the golden sphere above us. Everyone looked up in awe, once again, blinded by money.
You didn't fall for it. You wanted out of this hellhole as soon as possible, and you would take every opportunity you get to escape.
The only issue was.. Gi-hun. It was a weird connection. Usually people say "How are you?" In a way which they dont actually care how you are, they used it as a conversation starter, but he was different. He asked it, genuinely wondering how you were.
You'd never felt that way. But you could live without him.
"Uh, sir... So then, if we can complete all six games, how much do we get?" It was the same lady begging to get out, the one that started all of the commotion. You were starting to suspect she was just.. out of her mind.
"Since there were 456 players, the total prize money is 45.6 billion won. And with that, we will now begin the voting."
"As you can see, there are two buttons in front of you. If you wish to continue playing, press the green button with an O. If you wish to stop playing, then please press the red button with the X instead. After you finish voting, move to the other side of the white line and wait. Voting will be done in reverse order of the numbers on your chests.
Player 456, please cast your vote."
He stared, before deciding on X.
Smart man.
"Player 455, please cast your vote."
You went up.
Looked up.
Looked at your hands.
Then, pressed X.
After me it was 454.
She went to go for O first, hesitated, went for X then hesitated again. She looked up at the glowing sphere full of money before pressing O.
"Player 218." A square guard commanded.
He exhaled deeply, staring at the two options before him. He looked as if he wasnt thinking anything. Just meaninglessly staring at something.
He ended up pressing down X. You felt disappointed. More disappointed because it was Sang-woo, more than anything else. One of Gi-hun's closest.. friends? His expression was a mix of hurt, anger and confusion. You knew Sang-woo could feel 456 staring.
Someone started to shout.
"Have you all gone crazy? We have to leave. We can't keep putting up with this insanity!-"
"So what if we leave? Tell me, what changes? Just as bad as it is out there than it is here, goddamn it."
"She's right! If we stop now, it only helps the ones who are dead. They'll get 100 million won, and not us. We made it through! They're out! That money is ours."
"Please..! think about what happened out there."
People were getting hysterical now.
"Where am I supposed to go, huh? Out there, I don't stand a chance. Cmon lets finish this thing! I'd rather stay and keep on trying in here than go back to the bullshit out there."
Another player must've had enough, because he grabbed 322 by the collar.
"You jerk! You got some kind of death wish? Go die alone! Don't drag everybody else into this, you little shit!"
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Who are you to-"
Both gasped when a square guard shoved a gun into 119's back.
"We will not condone any kind of act that impedes this democratic process. Now, let us resume and continue voting."
Eventually everyone had casted their vote except for the old man, 001. The one who had been playing red light green light as if he hadn't just witnessed at least 200 die. He treated it as if he was actually reliving his childhood.
It was 50 votes for O, 50 votes for X. He had the deciding vote.
"It seems we're down to the last vote. Player 001."
He walked to go and decide on everyone in the room's fate. As if there was nothing.. pressuring about it.
He rested his hand in the middle.
"If you wish to continue playing, press O. However, if you wish to stop playing, then press X."
You closed your eyes, mind blank. You "woke up" 10 seconds later, looking at your feet, praying to god he pressed X. Some people were cheering, some simply did/ said nothing. Thinking "So.. whats next?"
You look up. O-100. X-101.
You mentally thanked the old man for possibly saving your life.
"the majority of the players have voted to terminate the game. Therefore, this game is now terminated"
"Hey! Okay, anybody who wants, they can go. But let the ones who want, stay till the end, though."
"He's right! Please let us stay! We'll keep playing the game! Half of us have died already! We can't just stop here."
"Yes! Let us continue!"
"It truly is a pity that we must say goodbye to you like this. However, we will not completely seal the door of opportunity or all of you. If the majority of you wish to participate again, then we will resume the game. So, goodbye for now."
As promised, they gave you back your stuff. The only issue was, your last memory was after the guard finished speaking, you and Gi-hun looked at each other, realizing this could be the last time you saw each other.
"Bye.. for now"
And that was it.
You thought his goodbye was genuine until you were (rulely) awoken by getting thrown out of that same sketchy white van.
You couldnt see anything, they had put a blindfold on you.
You then heard that same voice that you thought you would never hear again.
"Help! Help! Help! Hello?! Help over here! I cant see anything!" He sounded frantic, it was hilarious. You can to bite your tongue to stop yourself from laughing.
"..Gi-hun?"
"Ohh, (Y/N).."
You were lying pretty close to him, even with your hands tied you managed to get his blindfold off.
"Thanks for that.. I'll untie you hold on."
He got your restraints off, so you took off your blindfold as well. You then got rid of the wires around your ankles.
You left to get your clothes.
"What are you... oh okay. Get dressed first. It's cold." He shivers. "I'm freezing too. Oh, yeah. Hurry up now. Ooh that hurts..-"
"Chill out Gi-hun, jesus i haven't even..."
You turned to face him. What was he hiding underneath that tracksuit? Damn.
"... got my shirt on yet."
Your voice went from annoyed to quiet.
A pocket knife fell out of your hoodie, so you used it to untie him.
"Thank you, (Y/N)"
You were on your way to your friends house to crash for just a night, and remembered you still had around 90,000 won from a couple days ago. Meaning you could pay for staying at hers, for at least a week. When you were about to ring the doorbell, you saw a certain card wedged into the crack of the door.
On the back it stated the day, time and whereabouts
You realized you couldn't keep living like this, and the people in there were right.

squid game; ep 1
seong gi-hun x reader.
taken from my wattpad (RickSanchezski).
words: 1542.
--
You just woke up in a green tracksuit, unaware of your surroundings. It took about 10 seconds for it to register in your mind that you weren't at your friend's house, before a rush of memories from yesterday played through your head.
You were too deep in thought to notice someone tapping your shoulder. All of a sudden, you snapped out of your trance, and looked up to see a man, probably in his mid to late 40s. He was wearing the same green tracksuit. Infact, everyone was. The only difference was everyone had their own number. The man's was 456.
You looked down to see your number was 455.
"Hey. You must be the player before-"
The both of us turned around to see the commotion going on. A young girl was getting beat up by this man- obviously older. You and 456 joined the crowd that had now formed, before he made some sort of realisation. You tried to stop him from intervening for whatever reason he wanted to- but he was too swift.
"Hey, you come here," he demanded. "Oh. That scar on your neck. You're the damn pick pocket! You loser."
You began to see where this was going.
"My money, give it back."
He was now grabbing the girl by the collar. You felt bad for her, but you couldn't be too sympathetic because you didn't know anything about the situation.
Where is it? You took it.. I need i-" 456 got pushed to the ground.
"..The hell?"
The thug from earlier joined in.
"Who are you?"
"Uhh.."
"What do you think you're doing?"
"Me..? Uhh, Well.. Look. The name's Seong Gi-hun. I live in Ssangmun-dong."
Oh. What a lovely name.
"Hey, Ssangmun-dongshit."
"..Yeah?"
"Me and this bitch weren't done talking," He was pacing towards Gi-hun as if he was gonna attack him, which surprisingly hadn't happened already.
"Yeah I understand that, It's just there's something me and this... woman should talk about urgently."
The girl sighed.
"You bastard! What scheme are you two runnin'?"
"You're asking me? What's your problem with this girl, 101? Yeah, I bet you're a thug who preys on girls, and takes advantage of them. Did you tell her?! To rob me like that?"
You were getting second hand embarrassment. It just keeps getting worse and worse.
"You little son of a bitch!" 101 attempts to punch Gi-hun, but he runs backwards.
You can't lie, his run was funny.
"Hey, he wants to hit me. This thug is trying to hit me, huh? Hey, somebody get over here, we need help!"
The gift that never stops giving..
What's the opposite of a gift?
Hold on.. The door began to open?
"Oh, there they are. Over here, she'll pick all our pockets sir. Him too. They'll pick- They'll pick-"
Everyone went silent, and tensed up. You subtly moved to stand next to 456.
"What the fuck where you doing?" you whispered.
The door had fully opened to reveal men in masks, all dressed in hot pink suits. On the masks, there was either a square, circle or a triangle.
One began to speak.
"I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to you all. Everyone here will play six different games over six different days. Those who win will receive a handsome cash prize."
Someone from the crown spoke up.
"And why should we believe that? Y-You took our stuff and put us to sleep coming here, and then you brought us to this strange warehouse? Now you're saying you'll pay us if we go and play a few games? You really expect us to buy that?"
"We reluctantly took those measures to maintain confidentiality as we brought you all here. We'll return all your things once the games are over."
Another from the crowd.
"You all.. You all have masks- Why are you wearing those things?"
"We do not disclose the faces and personal information of our staff to any of the participants. It's a measure we take to ensure fair games and confidentiality. Please understand."
"Well i don't believe you one bit, got that? You tricked us. We were kidnapped. You can make as many excuses as you want to make sure nobody knows you broke the law in here. If you're going to make up for that, then we're gonna need something more."
"Player 218. Cho Sang-woo. Former leader of Team Two at Joy Investments. Siphoned money off of his clients balances, then invested it in derivatives and future options and failed. Current loss: 650 million won."
He then went on to show the debts other people owe.
"Hey, I know him! He's like a brother to me. I thought he was rich.. Why is he here?"
"Every person standing here in this room is living on the brink of financial ruin. You all have debts you can't pay off. When we first went to see each of you, not a single one of you trusted us. But, as you all know, we played a game, and as we promised, gave you the money when you won. And suddenly, everyone here trusted us. I'll give you one last chance to choose. Will you go back to your old, depressing lives, or will you seize this last opportunity were offering here?"
"Hey! Which games are we playing?"
"In order to play fair, we cannot disclose any information about the games ahead of time."
Gi-hun began.
"One question.. If we win, how much money do we get?"
The ceiling opened up, and everyone looked up in awe.
"Your prize money will be accumulated in there after every game. We will disclose the amount after the first game is over. If you do not wish to participate, please let us know at this time."
The lights switched back on, and you went behind Gi-hun in the queue.
"So is that it or..."
You looked over his shoulder.
PLAYER CONSENT FORM
CLAUSE 1: A PLAYER IS NOT ALLOWED TO STOP PLAYING
CLAUSE 2: A PLAYER WHO REFUSES TO PLAY WILL BE ELIMINATED
CLAUSE 3: GAMES MAY BE TERMINATED IF THE MAJORITY AGREES
You signed your consent form, and the second you put your pen down, a voice came out from the speakers.
"Attention all players. The first game is about to begin. Please follow the staff's instructions. Please make your way towards the game hall.
You do as said, get your picture taken, turned to Gi-hun and said
"Good luck."
Before getting lost in a crowd.
You turn around just as the games are about to begin, and see him talking to Sang-woo. He seemed to have noticed you staring, because he made his way over to you.
Some players were having a conversation next to you.
"Hey."
"Huh?"
"Whats that? Over there? Looks really freaky."
You noticed a huge doll, wearing a yellow shirt underneath an orange dress. Its "hair" was in pigtails, and it was wearing knee-high white socks paired with black shoes.
"Damn, that thing has a freaking huge head."
You heard the same feminine voiceover from earlier. "You will be playing red light, green light. Stop when "it" shouts red light. If your movement is detected, you will be eliminated."
Eliminated? The word made you extremely uncomfortable. You felt as if your were going to puke all your guts out.
A man turned to Gi-hun.
"Red light green light? The thing we used to play as kids?"
The feminine voice started over.
"Let me repeat the rules,"
"I think thats what she said.."
The voice repeated the rules, and people made bets.
The game started.
"Green light."
You moved about 6 steps.
You looked up to see a timer.
5:00...
4:59...
4:58...
Every second felt like a minute.
"Red light!"
One of the people got ..eliminated.
And it was exactly how you thought (and dreaded) it would be.
He got shot, and instantly fell to the ground, the doll somehow sounded annoyed, repeating the rules once more.
"Green light."
You moved a couple steps.
"Red light"
His friend came up to his now limp body.
"Hey, you got eliminated idiot. You can stop with the act."
Mockingly, His now dead friend coughed up blood.
He had now realised what was meant by "eliminated".
He turned to run, but got shot. The blood splattered on the woman behind him, which caused a chain reaction of terror, screaming and running for a way out.
You froze in fear.
Bodies were piled on top of eachother at the doors.
The game was simple, and you got to the end in time without dying, with 41 seconds exactly to spare.
Gi-hun was far behind. Oh god.. He began to fall..
Milliseconds turned into minutes, but you stopped holding your breath as you realised your new found.. friend? Was saved by someone behind him.
In the last few seconds they jumped over the line, near where me and sangwoo were sitting. We watched as the people who hadn't made it got shot.
You barely knew the guy, but Gi-hun was already growing on you.
And you couldn't say that about many people.
.
A/N: I hope this was good.. :) I've noticed the lack of Gi-hun appreciation. Outrageous. Anyways, have a nice day yous !!

"y/n, you can't stay here anymore. you  don't pay rent, you don't clean or do anything. you just go out, come back completely drunk and pass out on the couch. I can't afford to keep looking after you. I'm sorry."
you nodded, understanding your friends feelings. but you knew you wouldn't change. you couldn't.
"i'll give you 45,000 won so you can find somewhere for the night. be safe."
you took the money without saying a word. it was a decent amount, you could try and look for somewhere to stay. you shut the door behind you quietly, trying not to wake the neighbours up. they were nice people.
you walked down the steps, practically tiptoeing although it felt your feet could barely hold your entire weight.
it was cold out. immediately getting goosebumps, you quickly zipped up your jacket. it was an alright walk to the train station, about 2 miles. you hadn't even decided where to go, but you were probably just gonna get a ticket to somewhere random and fall asleep on a bench or something. because why not.
you sat down somewhere, as you felt a pulse in your feet. a heartbeat. a business man approached you, with a cocky grin on his face.
"miss, I'd like to take with you."
slightly annoyed you replied.
"what do you want..?"
"how would you like to play a game?"
what? clearly this guy was joking.
he must've saw the confused look on your face before he opened a suitcase.
"ddajki. y'know- the childhood game? every time you win, I give you 100,000  won. every time I win, you give me 100,000 won. deal?"
what had you got to lose? nothing. literally.
".. sure"
after playing (and losing) you realised what you had to do.
"sir.. I don't have that much money."
"doesn't matter, you can pay me back with your body."
"WH-"
you were cut off with a slap.
"oh." you whispered.
after losing, getting a few hard slaps, then losing. and losing. and losing... you finally won.
"haha.. my turn!" and just as you were about to slap him, he got the money, blocked your arm and put the money in your hand.
"there are more games like this.. here, take this card. phone the number if you'd like to participate."
and then, he disappeared into a train.
you turned around the card, and dialed the number. again, what was there to lose..?
you gave them the information they wanted, met up where they wanted to and got in a strange and sketchy van.
that was the last thing you could remember.
