That sudden urge to kick fucking Galloway's ass until the end of time......
I'm back on my bullshit as it turns out. Somehow got back into a semi-regular writing routine, working on scene 10 of TNDA, writing process needed a bit of a revamp. So here, have a snippet. Scene 10 is gonna be from Galloways' POV so I'm handing you a pitchfork before you go into this one lol.
Behind him, Colonel Watts and the short, elderly guy, were talking quietly to each other, probably thinking they were quiet enough for him to not hear. He had no trouble letting them believe that. He lit the cigarette the newcomer had given him when Galloway had, half in jest, asked if he could have one. He hadn’t expected to actually get one. The view outside the window was toned down and slightly blurry thanks to the UV breaking glass, the courtyard an expressionist painting as seen by a painter with color blindness. Dried up vegetation nobody had bothered to keep up dotted the scenery in shades of brown, light brown, and slightly darker brown. The sky was a washed out greenish blue and the sand looked nearly liquid through the glass. He watched as a bunch of agents ushered Davy as well as that nuisance Miyamoto into the courtyard and towards a shiny white government vehicle. He took a deep drag of the cigarette, it’s strong, clearly expensive taste, filling his mouth. He almost wanted to give into the impulse of stubbing it out in the mans’ brilliant blue eyes. Instead he focused on Davy again. He was clinging to Miyamoto, refusing to get into the vehicle. Galloways’ lips tug into a smile that could almost be described as fond.
Hello Taglist, it's been a while. Miraculously, I have not yet abandoned this wip. I know, I'm shocked myself.

There's a book that we had in our house growing up that I was obsessed with as a kid. It was just called "PAKISTAN: PAINTINGS BY LIN YONG AND SU HUA" and it was an art book of 100+ paintings/sketches by two Chinese artists who travelled thru Pakistan in 1978 and 1981, a sort of travelogue of their trip, and to little-kid me, it was some of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. I have no idea why we had that book, but I would stare at it for hours, and it made me wish I could draw/paint/do whatever it was that these artists had managed to do.
Anyway, we've moved house a bunch of times and I lost track of the book and haven't seen it for probably two decades now. But I think about it now and again, and had struggled to find it over the years, but I finally, finally got my hands on a copy of my own and i want to cry haha
I was afraid that maybe the art isn't as good as I remembered, being just a kid and all, but I cracked it open and nope, it hits me just the way it used to. Maybe even more now. It's so fucking pretty. Have some random pages:

Writing Motivation
The 15 Minute Rule
Set a timer for 15 minutes (or however long you want) and then write. Do not stop. Don't edit or delete anything. Don't hesitate. These 15 minutes are just for you and your writing. Afterwards, you can leave the work as it is, delete it, or edit it. You can either move forward with it or move on from it. But for these 15 minutes, get it all out of your system.

“If you want to be a grocer, or a general, or a politician, or a judge, you will invariably become it; that is your punishment. If you never know what you want to be, if you live what some might call the dynamic life but what I will call the artistic life, if each day you are unsure of who you are and what you know you will never become anything, and that is your reward.” ― Oscar Wilde

Incorrect Quotes tag!
Thank you @leahnardo-da-veggie !
Here the link and here what they said 😉
****
Ashley : Blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. The X makes it sound cool. (🤣🤣🤣)
Amy : Ok, first of all, what the fuck?
Morales : I just found out that humans are capable of fitting a light bulb into their mouth with ease but can’t take it out without shattering it, and now I have to physically restrain myself from putting a light bulb in my mouth
Herrera : I am not an early bird or a night owl. I am some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.

Nobody tagged me in this, I just felt like it LOL
Here's the link ;) Doing this for the characters for my visual novel, Menhecate!
Mari: Ah ready for another fantastic day of being better than Alice.
Xuanhuo: Any tips on how to make someone like me? Alice: Try to make them laugh all the time. Xuanhuo: Oh, wow! You actually help me for once, and it's even good advice! Alice: Yeah, the more they laugh, the more time they spend with their eyes closed, so it'd be easier.
Joanne: Are you having another depressive episode? Alice: A depressive episode? Alice: I'm having a depressive series and we're just on season one.

I don't wanna @ anyone because I understand how fast things seem to move in today's landscape of streaming shows dropping entire seasons in one day, and networks pumping out new series constantly to try to attract more subscribers with no intent to actually maintain those shows over time but I just saw someone self-deprecatingly lament that they are still thinking about a show that ended almost a year ago, making fan art and playlists for it, and I want to be very clear:
you can still create fanworks when it comes to old media!! PLEASE do!! there are always going to be new fans who will appreciate it, and veteran fans who are dying for new content and new perspectives. also, less than a year is NOTHING. the original Star Trek series was on TV six decades ago and there are still people losing their minds over it, writing stories and reblogging gifsets daily, and that's only one example.
a fandom lasts as long as there are people who love a thing, even if it's only a handful of people. love what you love and write and draw and make gifs and playlists about it!

3 QUESTIONS about one of your OCs
Tagged by my beloved @wyked-original-writing 🙏
****
Let's introduce Abuela another MC for my Ashley's trilogy
As far as today Abuela will be very present in book 2 and she'll be mentioned in book 1 and 3
****
how would you describe their personality / aesthetic?
Abuela is an old woman with piercing clear eyes despite her colombian origin.
We don't know her real name, "Abuela" is how everybody, including Ashley, call her.
Same as we won't know anything about her hair....she always wear very colorful foulards though.
She's around 69 when Ashley comes around, tanned and very wrinkled skin, a thin body with a big personality.
She's half a way between a witch and a shaman and runs, more or less, the only place where Ashley will live a relative safe... At least for a while.
Abuela is Ashley's mentor in book 2 and, like all very good teachers, she's aware that there is just as much she can do for her pupil....the rest of it will be out of her hands.
what’s your favourite thing about them?
She's very benevolant but can't be tricked, she can call on everybody's bullshit out no problem
fun facts about them / their creation
Right at the beginning I had a very clear idea about how she looked like and the fact that she would hold her own to Ashley...for the better and the worse.

+ OPEN and a drink 🍻☕🍷☕ 🍹🍻
Tagged by @thecomfywriter for three questions
I'll make this for one of my OC's that I have yet to introduce: she belongs to another secret wip as I want to have it mostly finished before I start yapping about it....I'm going to try to draft all the books for that set then talk about them as I am editing.
how would you describe their personality / aesthetic?
Esmeralda is a spitfire survivor. She tries to go under the radar but once her cover gets blown..well damn...🔥
She hails from Mexico just not sure the year or region yet to be honest as I have a little more research to do before it is settled. But her sense of style has a Western/ sombrero /badass/ seductress vibes.
Her loyalty is to the extreme I would have to say but so is her hatred. She is made of fire in a way.
what’s your favourite thing about them?
😅 gesture's at the character...
fun facts about them / their creation
She is a corrupted demon and not a born demon (despite what over half of hell believes)
She lives on the outer lands or the wild lands and has a pack of wild hellhounds..no one knows how she achieved that. Then again they think she is crazy for living there of all places
She is one of ten demons who can create a portal out of hell for others..for a price of course.
She kinda runs a market of sorts and a safe house. Even the royals won't mess with her, then again to them she is just someone lurking in the shadows they have no clue who her true identity is.
Ez or Ezz is her preferred nickname.

Oh MY, THANK YOU @wyked-original-writing 🙏🙏🙏🙏
🧩 How to Outline Without Feeling Like You’re Dying
(a non-suffering writer’s guide to structure, sanity, and staying mildly hydrated)
Hey besties. Let’s talk outlines. Specifically: how to do them without crawling into the floorboards and screaming like a Victorian ghost.
If just hearing the word “outline” sends your brain into chaos-mode, welcome. You’re not broken, you’re just a writer whose process has been hijacked by Very Serious Advice™ that doesn’t fit you. You don’t need to build a military-grade beat sheet. You don’t need a sixteen-tab spreadsheet. You don’t need to suffer to be legitimate. You just need a structure that feels like it’s helping you, not haunting you.
So. Here’s how to outline your book without losing your soul (or all your serotonin).
—
🍓 1. Stop thinking of it as “outlining.” That word is cursed. Try “story sketch.” “Narrative roadmap.” “Planning soup.” Whatever gets your brain to chill out. The goal here is to understand your story, not architect it to death.
Outlining isn’t predicting everything. It’s just building a scaffold so your plot doesn't fall over mid-draft.
—
🧠 2. Find your plot skeleton. There are lots of plot structures floating around: 3-Act. Save the Cat. Hero’s Journey. Take what helps, ignore the rest.
If all else fails, try this dirt-simple one I use when my brain is mush:
Act I: What’s the problem?
Act II: Why can’t we fix it?
Act III: What finally makes us change?
Ending: What does that change cost?
You don’t need to fill in every detail. You just need to know what’s driving your character, what’s blocking them, and what choices will change them.
—
🛒 3. Make a “scene bucket list.” Before you start plotting in order, write down a list of scenes you know you want: key vibes, emotional beats, dramatic reveals, whatever.
These are your anchors. Even if you don’t know where they go yet, they’re proof your story already exists, it just needs connecting tissue.
Bonus: when you inevitably get stuck later, one of these might be the scene that pulls you back in.
—
🧩 4. Start with 5 key scenes. That’s it. Here’s a minimalist approach that won’t kill your momentum:
Opening (what sucks about their world?)
Catalyst (what throws them off course?)
Midpoint (what makes them confront themselves?)
Climax (what breaks or remakes them?)
Ending (what’s changed?)
Plot the spaces between those after you’ve nailed these. Think of it like nailing down corners of a poster before smoothing the rest.
You’re not “doing it wrong” if you start messy. A messy start is a start.
—
🔧 5. Use the outline to ask questions, not just answer them. Every section of your outline should provoke a question that the scene must answer.
Instead of: — “Chapter 5: Sarah finds a journal.”
Try: — “Chapter 5: What truth does Sarah find that complicates her next move?”
This makes your story active, not just a list of stuff that happens. Outlines aren’t just there to record, they’re tools for curiosity.
—
🪤 6. Beware of the Perfectionist Trap™. You will not get the entire plot perfect before you write. Don’t stall your momentum waiting for a divine lightning bolt of Clarity. You get clarity by writing.
Think of your outline as a map drawn in pencil, not ink. It’s allowed to evolve. It should evolve.
You’re not building a museum exhibit. You’re making a prototype.
—
🧼 7. Clean up after you start drafting. Here’s the secret: the first draft will teach you what the story’s actually about. You can go back and revise the outline to fit that. It’s not wasted work, it’s evolving scaffolding.
You don’t have to build the house before you live in it. You can live in the mess while you figure out where the kitchen goes.
—
🛟 8. If you’re a discovery writer, hybrid it. A lot of “pantsers” aren’t anti-outline, they’re just anti-stiff-outline. That’s fair.
Try using “signposts,” not full scenes:
Here’s a secret someone’s hiding.
Here’s the emotional breakdown scene.
Here’s a betrayal. Maybe not sure by who yet.
Let the plot breathe. Let the characters argue with your outline. That tension is where the fun happens.
—
🪴 TL;DR but emotionally: You don’t need a flawless outline to write a good book. You just need a loose net of ideas, a couple of emotional anchors, and the willingness to pivot when your story teaches you something new.
Outlines should support you, not suffocate you.
Let yourself try. Let it be imperfect. That’s where the good stuff lives.
Go forth and outline like a gently chaotic legend 🧃

Reading my own fanfiction is basically just a rollercoaster of emotional whiplash.
20% of the time: “Hold on. I wrote this? This is fire. This is emotionally devastating in the best way. This scene is dripping with tension. I’m a literary perfectionist. Someone give me a book deal.”
80% of the time: “Straight to jail. Immediate prison. Why is everyone’s breath hitching?. I used the word ‘gaze’ three times in one paragraph like I was possessed. Did I think 'his eyes darkened' was profound? Why is everyone clenching their jaws? Why is someone whispering 'their name like a prayer' again?? No one talks like this. What is this dialogue. Why are there so many weird metaphors and em-dashes…”

Seeing as I know a fair bit about the Ashley Nox trilogy, I will ask about a few others that caught my eye.
Could you tell me a smidgen about these three?
Enora WIngs (👀👀)
I'll always reach for you library scene
Breath Me SIA
Helloooooooooooo my partner in crime! 💖
SO.....
Enora Wings : eh eh eh .....let's say for now that this is NOT just a AO3 pseudo. It's been there even before Ashley, BUT we all agreed that I had go through TSA before.
Meaning : if I make it out alive.......😉
*****
These two were meant to be Banana Fish one shots.
I'll always reach for you library scene : the library has a particular meaning in all BF story....and the ending (and I stop there otherwise I cry).
I think it was meant to enforce the bond between Ash and Eiji, meaning both of them, Eiji in this particular case, will always be soulbound to Ash no matter what and commit to making the step to reach for him against all odds, if needed to.
Breath Me SIA : is one of my favorite songs ever. I wanted to make bits of dialogues and scenes for BF inspired by the song lyrics.
It speaks about someone losing themselves that asks for a "friend".
In truth doesn't matter which "role" the other person would take (friend, lover, platonic, whatever). It's a cry for a soulbound, in a way.
Thank you for your ask as always 💖💖💖💖
