Kaleidoscope au fanart

inspired by this post. I thought this would be a funny scenario.

I recently discovered Ghostbug and Crimson Bug, and I am in love with these two’s silly dynamic. The Kaleidoscope au by @heartfulselkie is so awesome! Obviously I had to draw fanart for it. I would highly recommend checking it out, especially if you like silly love square shenanigans and feel like being sad. Also the artwork is so cute!!! Anyway, that’s all from me. :)

The Dueling Fates of the Guardian Neos & Lady Glasswing

In a world familiar yet strange, tragedy and a gifted Butterly pendant sends a child on a dangerous and destructive path in a bid to undo what was wrought.

While circumstances and the will of the Kami see a very different child granted an opportunity to be something she never truly thought possible, a hero.

These designs are for an AU, I have outlined but only written a fraction of, where in Marinette and Chloe oppose one another as the mysterious Lady Glasswing and the fiery Neo Guardian of the Kwami.

Thematically, its centered-on idea relating to "good victims" and "Bad victims" and how that status impacts victims. How systemic and social failures can lead to destructive and harmful behaviors while support and guidance can serve to correct and heal.

Both would serve as sort of mirrors to one another, spoilers below:

Chloe was a "bad victim" in response to emotional and psychological neglect and abuse. Which largely caused her to act out in harmful ways and be rejected, only reinforcing her behavior.

Marinette was a "Good Victim" after a tragedy. She didn't make waves or lash out, didn't try to cause trouble & so didn't get the support she needed & began spiraling as a result.

Thanks to the support of the Kwami and a growing team of people who refuse to be chased away by her temper as well as an outlet that sees her getting positive feedback, Chloe begins to heal and improve.

Meanwhile Marinette's increasing alienation from people born of systemic and social failures, exaggerated by the Butterfly's use see her becoming more destructive and callous in her isolation.

Thematically and narratively, the idea would also be for Chloe's attitude to steadily shift from "Spite/defeat Lady Glasswing no matter what" to "Save Marinette from herself the way others saved me."

Notes:

Glasswing is also a type of Butterfly and rather fitting as Marinette comes to believe her Akuma are forcing people to show their true selves. She also has to Akumify Caterpillars into cocoons to get butterfly's.

Chloe starts out constantly swapping between Kwami and so doesn't have a "Designated" Kwami, but she trends towards Sass for the Second Chance theming and Roaar for the combative outlet, her suit adapts its colors to her Kwami.

The team is loosely made up of:

Adrien - Horse & Ladybug

Sabrina - Fox & Turtle

Zoe - Black Cat & Dog

Kagami - Dragon & Peacock

Fei Wu - Mei-Shi & Mouse

Lamb & Rooster are indetermined, & I'd be using my 12/15 Kwami Lore, seen over on my main blog.

Lila would have Trixx at the start but lose him due to irresponsibility in the field due to fame-seeking. She ends up wielding the stolen Prodigious on Marinette's side while beginning to realize she is in over her head.

Ironically, with no Gabriel to ruin her life, Fei's much more well off but wants the Prodigious back.

Ladybug!Lila concepts for my Disaster Duo AU. I used retro 60s sci-fi fashion and supergirl for inspiration. (Her scarf/cape/coattails are supposed to resemble ladybug wings!) Since Cannon!Lila loooves to change up her look so much I decided to play around with different hairstyles and eye color for these various designs. Probably should have messed with the colors more (or maybe I shouldn’t considering how many variations there already are). Also made villain variants for fun!:

Ladybug!Lila concepts for my Disaster Duo AU. Lila’s been tricky to design because she has so much stuff going on. My first attempts a couple years ago felt too villainous. I was adverse to just giving Lila spandex since I wanted Lila to at least somewhat match Chloe’s outfit. 

I wanted her to look friendly and traditionally superhero-ish since she wants to appeal to public tastes, so I used Supergirl (and a touch of retro 60s sci-fi) as a basis. Also made a villain version (black sleeves without a cape) for fun!:

It could be a scenario where she’s exposed as evil and she drops the facade. Inspirations below!:

The Girls (AKA Team RWBY)

I’ve had this art in my sketchbook for a while and I haven’t posted it, but… I guess I can do that now. Not much to say about it, other than I’ve been on and off working on a theoretical reboot of RWBY, kinda like the one I’m doing for MLB. I’m unlikely to do much with it ever though, so here’s the girls. I like how they look, anyway. (Also ignore that I spelled Weiss’s name wrong on the paper.)

This is asking your oppinion on my idea about cannon Miraculous;

1. Ox🐂 is immune, Monkey🐒 can disrupt powers. What would happen if Uproar hits Resistance?

2. We learn Resistance doesn't protect stuff the Ox holder later puts on, however, it supposadly does with stuff that is already on...my idea is; what if Ox creats an inside and outside layer, and immune to outside force... But not immune to inside forces, so if they was using the Bee as well, turning Venom on them would be possible...

What do you think?

That’s a question I’ve thought about more than once myself. Power Nullification vs power disruption? Which would win? Would either win? I have some interesting thoughts in the works for how these two mix, but I’ll probably wait until those are more well fleshed out.

Interesting thought, and while that would be a fun concept I think I’ll stick with it just canceling out other miraculous powers, for simplicity’s sake.

🦋🐂; living chain, basicly as ong as someone is connected to the user or conected to someone who is connected to the user, they also became immune, like the user

Yes, it is intentional that the Ox doesn’t have fusion powers—once I get to it, I’ll explain why. But those are all some pretty cool ideas. I love seeing fusion powers others come up with. :)

Black Cat/Butterfly fusion power: Exorcism (Allows user to destroy a superpowered object.)

Peacock/Butterfly fusion power: Amok (Allows user to create an Amok, which is a super powered proxy of sorts that the user can control from a distance.)

Fox/Butterfly fusion power: Fantasy (Gives someone illusory superpowers/fake superpowers.)

Turtle/Butterfly fusion power: Barrier (Shields user from magical manipulation.)

Bee/Butterfly fusion power: Invigorate (Allows users to siphon strength from another individual.)

Mouse/Butterfly fusion power: Infantry (Allows user to create multiple akumas at once, though they become less powerful the more are released.)

Ox/Butterfly fusion power: NA

Tiger/Butterfly: Anthem (Grants the user a song that enhances the powers of all superpowered individuals that hear it. The effects wear off when the user stops singing.) 

Rabbit/Butterfly fusion power: Override (Replaces a individual’s power/stamina with that of their future self)

Dragon/Moth fusion: Amplify (Perfects the abilities of other Miraculous holders, making them stronger.)

Snake/Butterfly fusion power: Limit (Allows user to reset another individual’s powers, allowing them to use those powers again)

Horse/Butterfly fusion power: Flight (Allows user to transfer an individual’s powers to someone else.)

Goat/Butterfly: Simulate (Allows user to swap the powers of an individual with those from an alternate reality)

Monkey/Butterfly: Wager (Allows user to grant an individual a random superpower)

Rooster/Butterfly fusion power: Sublimation (allows the user to give themselves new powers)

Since you kinda doing a soft rewrite, I would like to hear your take on this idea;

So, there are the power-up potions, whic are, tbh, very under utalized, beside flying. But I have a strange take; there suppose to be 7, but...

How about if there were only be five? My reasoning is the following;

In chinese zoodiacks, technicly there's your birth year zodiack animal, but depending on the year, it also has an elemental addition. These elements are water💧, fire🔥, earth🪨, metal⚓ and wood🌳... So, like the zodiacks are Miraculous, these elements would be additional power-ups...

What do you think of this?

Fun fact; there's a "creation cycle" of these elements, like water waters wood, earth creats metal.... And also a "destruction cycle", like metal cuts wood, earth sips up water...

Huh… that’s a really good idea. Honestly I was planning on cutting the power ups because I wanted to draw focus to the fusion powers a bit more, and I was worried that power ups would either distract or derail from that, but… hm, now I’m considering working them in. We’ll see.

Theseus

A revamp of my old Peacock Adrien design—the first Kwami swap I ever made. This one is a bit odd, but it feels right for the context in my head. (These days I have to make up stories for my designs or they don’t flow well.) I’ll stay away from spoilers as much as possible, but suffice it to say it’s an idea for a possible episode in my Miraculous Apprentice Au at some point. Mystery. :)

Anyway, I hope you like him. I think he’s pretty. :)
