imagine two clowns in a post apocalyptic world setting sort of based off of like? the idea of a rapture? imagine miles and miles of scorched earth where the fire was begun to smolder, with thousand-eyed creatures of pure light wielding blood stained swords taller than you, constantly prowling along the earth, searching for survivors. imagine them getting into hijinks and mischief, pulling pranks on the literal all seeing entities of death and GETTING AWAY WITH IT. imagine them. y'all think they'd be gay?

superstitious fisherwoman

same thing a bit of a character profile with some worldbuilding and notes

name: gelo ritatar

name meaning: gelo is derived from the world Gelogar which in toliran's native language means seaglass. ritatar is an old surname that means shoemaker.

gelo is a hard-working, honest fisherwoman, a sailor who lives in her ship on the docks of joro with her three children, lite, minos and gelaro. she's down to earth and practical, and loves the sea and her religion dearly. she has a strict moral code and often times holds the people around her, especially her children, to her standards. she's stubborn, and judgemental, but nonetheless generous and kind. she's big on sharing as much as she can with the people around her. she's a busybody and can sometimes be downright intrusive.

the toliran king is a greedy tyrant who has long since been pushing his money-hungry regime onto tolira, but now he has begun to impose laws and taxes on the working class designed eventually to pretty much keep the poor poor and the rich richer, so of course gelo joins a resistance group. the group is called twus/toliran workers united strong

gelo has a recurring dream of an excerpt from a religious toliran text. the excerpt states "And on the day of reckoning a thief and sailor will turn the tyrant's throne of worms and banish the crow's hoard." in her dream, she sees herself and sithel.

sithel does NOT like gelo AT ALL for the first half of the book. they are constantly clashing heads. but since gelo was young she's had sort of prophetic dreams. vague dreams, but they always seemed to manifest again later some way or another, so she is INCREDIBLY sure of herself as she drags sithel along.

name: sithel meihuran

name meaning: sithel is a name meaning "child of si," si being the god of abundance and wealth in tolira's official religion. meihuran is a surname deriving from a toliran myth about a tyrant queen named meihur. sithel isn't religious but her mother was, and so is most of her family

sithel is a liar and a cheater and has no qualms with stealing from anyone she possibly can, whether rich or poor. she's a fan of jewels and furs and tends to steal and wear a lot of jewelry. she's a silk merchant who lives right on the beach in the city of joro. she's charming, a flirt, and a romantic, having taken many different lovers in her time. she hates being told no. she has an affinity for violence and weapons and kind of has a thing for the color crimson

sithel is moving around constantly but she always returns to joro, where she considers is her home. she lives quite close to the docks but never speaks to any of the sailors on account of having an irrational distaste for them for no reason, actually having heckled them once or twice on a drunken night before
