They always tried to talk their way out of death. That's just how humans were. Maybe that's how everyone was.
"I know, Robin... Don't let go."
He did forgive him but the urge to feel blood was stronger.
"I'm sorry... Just close your eyes and this will all be over. Then we can pretend none of that ever happened and live like we used to. I promise."
That was the only thing he didn't know for sure. Was there anything after this? Or did he just make an empty promise? Oz held the human tightly with one hand and pressed the other against his stomach, the gentleness almost gone from his touch. Hesitant. But this was what he had to do.
"I love you."
"I thought you would have remembered murdering me."
“M-murdering you–”
Then it clicked. So it was true, after all. Something in him wanted to scream. He didn’t want to believe it. He doesn’t remember last time he felt this sick, his heart hanging in the pit of his stomach, or the weight of regret crawling down his back.
“M… Marco?”

Marco stood there, letting the other cry and repeat himself like a broken record. Grey eyes softened for a moment. Some part of him... Some part of Marco wanted to hold Robin. Tell him it's okay. That he forgives him. But was that true? Was it really how he felt?
Maybe...
He walked over to Robin slowly and held open his arms. It was just the chance to pull the human in so he could end this but being held one last time sounded nice...
These thoughts needed to quit. He was there to kill Robin, not let him live.
"I thought you would have remembered murdering me."

"Hm."
He paused for a few seconds, enjoying this much more than he really should. Oz stared at him before letting his body shift, taking the form of the human he had been only about three years ago. Glasses, freckles and all.
There was a beat of silence before "Marco" spoke.
"R-robin?"
"I thought you would have remembered murdering me."

I'm questioning how does someone sweet and weak like Marco turn into the embodiment of fear on death....
Like this!

"Maybe I should just rip out your stomach eh? Hurt you slowly, make you feel what I felt." Oz took a step closer, the grin not leaving his face as he felt the fear rolling off the human in thick waves.

"You hurt me, Robin. Now all that's left of me is this. I want you to really know what it feels like to get eaten alive by someone you trusted." Oz cackled and eyed the phobia on Robin's shoulder. Little traitor.

"Ah just a bunch of 'protect the human' shit. 's kinda annoyin. I personally find this hilarious. A human running around trapped in the monster world. A soft one at that." Oz chuckled and looked at the phobia. He didn't say he didn't care. He just thought funny. There was still part of him listening to the phobias, which is why he even bothered to bring Robin the soup in the first place.
godless-fear:
“It likes you more than me for whatever fuckin reason.” Oz shrugged, white eyes looking down at the ground. “It kept annoying me so I guess it’s better off.” The shadow wasn’t really ready to give up one of his phobias but it was the one that ran off on him. He might have been worried until he found out it was hanging around the human.
“It.. likes me?” Robin looked over to his shoulder where the phobia sat and back to him. “How exactly did it annoy you, i-if that’s okay to ask? You don’t have to answer if that’s none of my business.” There was still much that Robin didn’t seem to know or understand to this Oz. He was definitely unlike the one he’s interacted and that seemed extremely worried of his zombie counterpart.
This one didn’t seem to care about as much.

“Ugh just shut and take the damn soup.” Oz growled at him and furrowed his brow. He was going to leave? Well he guessed all humans leave eventually. But still… The shadow sat down on the edge of the bed, holding one of the phobias in his hand.
“I guess you can keep that one.” Oz eyed the one that sat on Robin’s shoulder. It stuck its tongue out at Oz and nuzzled into the human’s neck for warmth.
Robin blinked over to the fearling that seemed to stay put. The fact that he insisted him to keep one of his companions with him had him wondering,,,
Not, it couldn’t.
“A.. are you sure? I’m not sure what to do or… how to take care of it. I know you can communicate with it, but I don’t their language… is it really okay for me to keep it?”

“S-sick..?” He muttered, the meal soon being handed over by Oz and the phobia jumping back on his shoulder. “I…”
It was true unfortunately. Robin has been feeling under the weather these few passing days. He was sure it was just him being overwhelmed by the… intense students wandering around campus, but feeling ill?
“I-I’m probably just getting a bit tired is all. Besides, i-it’s pretty obvious there should be no human crossing through here, you know… m-maybe it’ll be time for me to leave and… go back to where I live. Or.. well, the phobias probably know…”

A small bat seemed to be fluttering around, swaying in the air and looking ready to collapse. It was not often one got to see a drunk bat, if bats could even get drunk, but this bat was certainly flying like he was.
Oz laughed at the odd flight pattern of the bat before he grabbed the bat with a tentacle.
"You good, batboy?" He chuckled and made sure not to squeeze him too hard, just enough to keep him from falling out of his grasp.

Oz stared into the dog's eyes as he crouched down to the dog's eye level.
"Ain't got much a scent. I guess we're kinda similar." Oz chuckled and held out his hand for the dog to sniff. One of the phobias got excited and sat on the back of the Shadow's hand, waving at the dog.
"Huh... Got ya self a dog? ..... Can I pet it?"
godless-fear
❝Sure. Just let him sniff you first.❞ Brian’s hand move to brush along the dog’s fur, assuring Mangle that things would be okay.
The black dog glancing up towards the zombie before looking towards the stranger. Staying firmly planted and seated on the ground, it’s pure white eyes staring deep into the other’s eyes.
He sat skill, waiting for the other to move. Tail moving slightly on the ground, from Brian’s hand lingering on his head. Unsure how to react to the new person.

"Ugh I don't know. I'm just the messenger." Oz huffed. The phobia beamed up at Robin and hopped up next to him.
"It says you're sick or something. Should eat this or you might make it upset." Yes go ahead and use the human's feelings to his advantage. How nice of him.
The phobia just knows when he's sick. Suddenly that warm shoulder isn't so warm. It'll make him soup and make Oz carry it since it really can't carry a bowl that big. Oz doesn't get why but oh well.
“Wh- huh..?”
Robin wasn’t exactly sure as to why the fearling stood before him, holding out a warm bowl of soup. He looked at him and the soup, then over to the phobia that used to be on his shoulder.
“Uhh… what’s it for?”

"Suit yourself. I'll just enjoy this alone then." Oz chuckled and narrowed his eyes at the vat, a sharp toothed grin on his face. "
"Oh ya know. Just some stuff I found in a locked room."

The phobia "beeped" and pointed to the right. It wouldn't be too long of a walk. Hopefully it didn't end with Oz coming outside all angry for no reason. He hated daylight simply because it made half his powers weaker so that meant he wouldn't be out until dusk.
godless-fear:
The phobia thought for a second. Of course they could! But… It pouted before nodding and pointing in the direction they needed to go. They’ve been to Brian’s plenty of times! Sometimes Oz had to leave them at home alone for some reason, but that was before they disappeared. Anyway, the phobia kept pointing in the right direction for them to go, a smile of its face.
An amused look curled up to his cheeks as the phobia began to show the way. He didn’t hesitate to follow the trajectories, turning paths and changing lanes. He did however noticed the small pout, unsure of what it could’ve meant. Probably won’t be much to ask, so he didn’t bother.
“Alright, where to next?”
