it's crazy that you used to be able to look up specific clips from a tv show on youtube. now regardless of your search terms you get 6 unrelated promo reels from the show's official account, 6 unrelated clips of literally anything else youtube thinks you might click on, 6 unrelated promo reels from the network's official account, 6 more completely arbitrary recommendations, 6 show trailers and publicity videos of the actors by content mills called 'pop glutton' and 'comedy chunk' and finally raw gameplay footage of a mobile freemium slots game and a video essay called Liberals Can't Belive It: 10 Times Hitler Was Shockingly Woke

Sorry conditions aren’t optimal today. So I won’t be doing the thing I really want to do and have waited a long time to do so. Back to my the shelf in my brain where it will continue to fester with want.

Things I’ve learned going to the gym as an adult:

Wear what you want. Some people will wear fashionable fits, that’s awesome for them but for me I need to be comfortable to move. Whether that’s a tighter fit or looser fit. I wore a big shirt with a big hole by the armpit, no one said anything. This includes shoes, I wore uncomfortable shoes because they were my nice ‘gym shoes’. I hated them they hurt my feet, used my worn in shoes and things were so much easier.

You will and won’t be perceived. Most people are focused on themselves. There’s people watching of course especially on cardio machines. It’s fine. No one’s gonna approach you.

Take the time to adjust the machines. Not just the weight, the heights as well. If it doesn’t feel like the correct muscles are working it’s probably because you are not aligned correctly.

Something is better than nothing. If you only have 30 minutes to do some weights, awesome. If you just want to use the treadmill for 20 minutes then leave, cool.

Do some stretches before and after.

If you have boobs be careful of machines that need your chest to rest on something. Most of those are not designed with boobs in mind and they can hurt.

I hate that you have to exercise for health benefits, but I am seeing some improvement in physical health since going there more regularly. Good luck to those trying to improve.

“Hazbin Hotel fans are gonna make the Homestuck fandom cringe!” Is perhaps the funniest sentence I have ever heard in my life

all of this brouhaha over the Spindlehorse Homestuck pilot, and specifically surprise at Toby Fox’s involvement, has made a certain generational divide starkly clear to me: between people who know Toby Fox as “The Undertale Guy Who Made Some Homestuck Music”, or just “The Undertale Guy”, and shriveled old apple doll crones like me who know Toby Fox as “The Homestuck Music Guy Who Then Made Undertale”.

And now that I’m recovering from the unsettling jolt of realizing there are more young people—and maybe people in general—who are overall more personally familiar with Undertale than with Homestuck, especially when it comes to participating in fandom, it’s hit me that many people might not know what I consider essential Undertale lore: that Toby Fox wrote and programmed and composed the thing while living in Andrew Hussie’s basement.

Andrew Hussie being, of course, the creator of Homestuck.

Also, it’s darkly funny seeing so many people losing their shit over Vivienne Medrano’s involvement (Spindlehorse being her production company), as though she’s some sort of evil witch who can taint and curse a project by association… when I’d bet fat stacks that many of these same people enjoy or at least have heard positive things about The Amazing Digital Circus, and the creator of that show has been friends with Vivziepop for ages. Gooseworx was writing songs for Vivziepop characters and worlds years before Hazbin Hotel was a twinkle in A24 or Amazon’s eye.

Really, a lot of people out there seem to not realize how in a small world like indie animation, everyone kind of knows everyone, and many of those someones are friends and are likely to collaborate with one another.
