FORTNITE inspired me to #HEAL 💜 when i returned as Black Panther & saw a Shuri skin & got to do a Wakandan salute w/ her. i spent as much time as i could the rest of the match working to protect her. That pure comradery was therapeutic for me & set example for others to do the same.

FORTNITE inspired me to #GROW 🌻 via raising #reparations for free homes + fresh food by us stealing back gold from the Wolf who was hoarding wealth in the area in his giant mansions, banks & various technological apparatus. If only we could have really given those resources back to Crime City.

FORTNITE inspired me to #CONNECT 🌐 via its STAR WARS chapter that linked me up with the Rebels / Light Side of the Force to battle the colonialist empire. Timed with the ANDOR series it reminded me to share our #GeneralStrike petition so we can #StayHome & end the virus (#COVIDstrike ⬛).

M.I.A. inspires me to heal via how she centers vulnerable women of color throughout her work~ whether they young girls, mothers, friends, soldiers, sex workers, dancers or refugees just trying to survive she helps protect them through open conversation that's rooted in unity.

M.I.A. inspires me to grow when i think of how her work is rooted organically. From the very first track on her first album "BANANA - SKIT." to the last track on her most recent album "MARIGOLD." she reminds us that access to natural wonders are paramount to all equality of life.

M.I.A. reminds me to connect when she teaches us the different ways of life people globally have to live + find work due to artificial scarcity / historical inequality. Her artistry is often unequivocal about what we all need to boycott to stop death and/or build to go live. ⬛🌐

Katie inspires me to heal when i think of all the frat culture we navigated together at school & how we created feminine centered spaces within that, culminating in our current friend group from school which is us plus two of our other female peers who bonded via cultural osmosis.

Katie reminds me to grow whenever we all eat together & she puts me onto new vegetarian / vegan recipes. Whether it's snacks or main courses she always has an innovative way to use vegetables. i hope to use her methods for more of my own plant-based health blogging very soon too!

Katie inspires me to connect because we come from different backgrounds; a man from a southside black neighborhood that was a victim of white flight & she, raised in a nicer part of the state. Yet we still find solidarity in shared experiences & make the world better for all.

Katie inspires me to celebrate feminine icons & the gifts of domestic bliss. Her home is always an inspiring example of how to welcome guests and leave them better than before. We have loud fun, take care of each other (incl. plants & non-humans) then make sure we get home safely.

Go Live Fest is the fifth PERFORM/TRANSFORM festival. Our utopian platform has been featured in Chicago Sun-Times, Southside Weekly, the Hyde Park Herald & more. We've worked with Chicago Public Schools + run an award winning farming program with a free food forest on the Southside.

We can help with digital workshops (Pay What You Want). For students who are still working on solutions they can use our platform for inspiration. Our festival's #HEAL hashtag supports a transformative justice fund & discussion circle, #GROW connects to the aforementioned food forest we previously started via After School Matters workshops. #CONNECT is inspired by student activism to end COVID-19 meanwhile our #CELEBRATE hashtag involves anything creative or based in the arts. Beyoncé helps me protect black women in a world w/o cops by connecting me to the most important people in my life via her radical art: the women. My cousins & mom go to her shows & do her TikToks, i've watched her at my grandma's taking over the Super Bowl. It all informs my work.

BEYONCÉ inspires me to raise #reparations for free homes + fresh food every time i post a pic of our program teaching a kid on the southside to make seed bombs, from a day i needed her album The Gift as encouragement to set up at my block party. We planted food w/ my cousins too!

BEYONCÉ inspires me to transcend money & borders via our utopian platform... we setout in 2016 after she dropped Lemonade to build the utopia she envisioned with our work. From an essay to stickers to a social media game to five festivals & a #COVIDstrike ⬛ Beyhive did that!
