Man. You know what. I just really need more dad Eragon. What about him being in in the middle of training the riders with like this infant strapped to his chest. No one can concentrate. Baby starts crying. This calls for CUDDLES

“Training Baby”

(A/N: The sudden urge to draw the image that’s in my mind… I doodled in the margins. Hi! Eragon with an infant is pretty cute. Even if I think of it attempting to be the Lee Shang in Disney’s Mulan before the song. lol Warnings: none. Word Count: 423 words)

Clear skies and temperate weather led the leader of the Dragon Riders to hold training outdoors. Some fresh air was good, healthy.

Eragon knew that he, himself, could not be inside the fortress forever. Nor could he be outside and away from his little one for too long. A personal choice and a necessity.

He was needed almost everywhere.

“Now remember,” Eragon paced slowly in front of the other Riders, “even without a traditional weapon, you can attack or defend yourself with the aid of magic. The more complicated or difficult the spell, the more of your energy will be used. Be mindful of yourself.”

Before him, the Riders were silent. Gazes watching his every move.

A small, insistent whine pierced his ears.

Eragon lightly patted the bundle of fabrics strapped to his torso. He was awarded with quiet from his infant. His companion for the day.

Remaining indoors had not been a possibility.

Eragon cleared his throat and continued. “Even a blade of grass could aid a Rider as a weapon given the speed or sharpness. There may come moments where you must—”

“Ahh.” His baby spoke up.

“—think quickly—”

“Wahh ahh.”

“—and be creative—”

“Aaa!”

Eragon cringed as his baby’s cries continuously struck his sensitive ears.

He raised his voice to the Riders as they gawked at the infant. “Be creative with your words. Carefully. Take a rest period.” Eragon dismissed them as he turned his full attention to his baby.

“WAAH!”

“Easy, my little one.” Eragon patted them gently as he walked into the shade of a tree. “What’s the matter?”

The infant grabbed at his shirt as they cried.

“Was I boring you? Too loud?” He ran his fingers over their head as their cries subsided. “I was teaching. It’s my responsibility.”

They babbled, looking up at him.

“I can’ play all day.”

“Ah.”

“I know,” Eragon wrapped his arms around the precious bundle, “it’s silly, but it’s true.”

“Uhhoo.”

He chuckled.

What a responsible, silly, and magical life Eragon lived. So full of possibilities. Knowledge that could progress them along and love that could surprise him.

“Ah.”

“What?”

“Ahhoo.”

Eragon kissed the top of their head and earned a delighted giggle in return. “Is that what you want?” He kissed the infant’s forehead. “I see you smiling.”

“Wah Ahaha!”

“I knew it.”

Eragon, grinning widely, peppered his dear infant with affection and silly voices. It was necessary. Perhaps not to some, but why would he possibly care about that when his little one was filled with abundant joy?

He has the horrible realization that he's stuck with the throne. Fortunately, he also realizes that there is one responsible adult he's (technically?) related to that he could drag into this: Brom.

All of this results in Prince Murtagh showing up in Palancar Valley with a small entourage to recruit Eragon and Brom into this nonsense.

I’ve been making “are you my ___ in every universe” for my parents. I’ve finished the one for my mom, but finishing the one for my dad.

But now I’m thinking… Morzan and Murtaugh equivalent. And to make it hurt more it would have a flash at the end of Brom and Eragon being like “you could have been”.

Decided to draw two characters from my future Inheritance fic.

Meet Orm, the light purple dragon. And Vern, the overly eccentric elf who is a goof ball.

At this point in the fic Odie (who I’ve mentioned before in a previous post as Murtaugh’s goblin of an apprentice) is watching the more senior students do a trust exercise of throwing themselves off their dragons and praying their team and own dragons are going to catch them. Odie as stated has a fear of Hights and thinks humans flying is unnatural (this excludes elf’s, Urgals, and dwarves) and is brought out to watch the exercise by Murtaugh in an attempt to desensitize Odie.

Yes I drew this and not the 10 other drawings involving the series I said I’d do, but shush.

Oh I’m doing great, biggest trauma I got is when a howler monkey bit me on the nose in Panama and the Eragon movie. The TV however will only know the horrors of the Eragon movie 😂

Roran, Murtaugh and Eragon all go on a camping trip together. All of them know how to camp obviously. But literally EVERYTHING that can go wrong does.

So my mom wants to have some of my art printed and hung up (including some creepy clown art I did because she’s weird)

And she asked me to show her some art she might like to have printed and I was super tempted to show her some of my Eragon fanart because it’s in a style she likes.

Just imagine someone walking into my house and just seeing Roran staring at them from the dining table. That would be hilarious.

I always felt like he’d be a quick peck kinda person.

He enjoys the more deep and sweet kisses of course, but on the daily he’s more likely to do quick affection rather than lingering.

Slow warm moments would be saved for more special moments or occasions, especially if it’s just kissing.

But he would do a quick kiss on the lips or cheek and head while walking around or passing his partner while doing chores. I also feel like he’d be pretty cheeky about it as he would feel as if he’s getting away with something and scuttle away before doing another fly by (like a kid pocketing a candy) once it was established his partner was okay with it.

What are our first kiss with Murtagh headcanons? I’d love to hear everyone else’s in the comments/reblogs.

I personally think if he initiates, he’s very soft and gentle and trying to be a gentleman, but gets a little more into it as the kiss goes on (definitely asked “can I kiss you” first). If the other person initiates, he’s surprised for a minute, but then just melts into it and gets into it a bit faster because he knows since they started it, they’re clearly okay with it. Then as the relationship progresses, he gets less scared to initiate and gets more touchy feely (within reason) with it. I personally headcanon he’s a big fan of playing with his partner’s hair and having his played with/holding each other’s faces as well.

Just finished watching the musical Mama Mia in Tucson. And I can now say with complete confidence that Eragon would adore mama Mia.

He urge to write coffee shop AU. But instead of it being like a ship fic. It’s just Murtaugh working in a corporate coffee shop with Galby as his crappy boss, his dad as the one who got him his job and lowkey hates it but stays because they get dental insurance and Durza as the one that vapes in the bathroom.

And then there’s Eragon in his family owned coffee shop because Garrow retired and now it’s his and Roran’s.

All the dragons are the shop’s designated cats. All their friends as regulars and the majority of the fic is all of them trying to convince Murtaugh to put in his 2 weeks notice.

They gotta save the shop from Galby buying it out or smth. Idk it would be B-plot.
