This is definitely dangerous for males as well as females. Boys will start to think that they aren't strong enough and always need to be better. Girls will think that they should be quieter and not contribute to lessons etc because they're girls. Only one person's pointed this out.
Tumblr media
Oh of course this is equally dangerous for kids of all genders…really? He is specifically deriding girl children here, why do they have to derail?

:(
I have a friend who’s bi, and is looking for a girlfriend and I want to just turn round and say ‘’Hey, I’m into you!’’ but then I realise that I’m fat and socially awkward and she’s obviously way out of my league.
Damn I hate being a teen.

The Lake (Camp Camp Mermaid AU)
Chapter 1
Not all mermaids are beautiful women who sit on rocks and comb their long blonde hair.
Sometimes they’re annoying little ten-year-olds called Max.
(Drabbles for a Mermaid AU, and this was written on phone so they're probably really short.)
It's been known by locals for around two hundred years that mythical beasts reside in the lake. Whether it be unnatural movement of the sapphire blue water or figures sitting on the rugged rocks, there was something odd. Most people now assumed that it was all just a hoax; magical creatures didn't exist after all, and anyone could just use a boat to reach those rocks or swim underwater.
One of Camp Campbell's annual activities was to go hunting for this beast. It involves taking a boat around the lake for around an hour and there would be 'clues' planted around the rocks and floating on the sea. For example, last year's clues consisted of a rubber duck with an arrow pointing in the direction they should go in and a crude drawing of a fish. At the end of the activity, it turned out there was no beast and instead the campers would have a lake-side lunch and there would sometimes be a guy dressed as a sea monster. It was obviously pretty lame, and everyone would try and get out of having to spend an hour in a crowded little motorboat that surprisingly hasn't capsized yet. Even the lunch at the end was pretty poor, and usually there wouldn't be enough food packed into the picnic basket. The blanket they all sat on was torn and smelled foul. It was generally a shitty experience.
"So, who's ready to go hunting for sea creatures?" David beamed clutching a picnic basket in one hand and held a map of the lake in the other. Everyone groaned.
Neil sighed, "Last year, the guy dressed up as that sea creature was drinking vodka during the picnic!''
"Yeah, and we've never seen anything aside from seagulls. And as much as I want a seagull for a pet, too many of them are annoying." Nikki, who was eating some slop with the platypus next to her, complained.
The mess hall was silent for a second.
David still kept that goofy smile plastered on his face, "It'll be fun either way, and this time we have pizza for lunch!"
Nobody moved.
It was then that Gwen spoke up, "Get your asses on that boat!"
So there they all were, sitting in that tiny sailboat.
"This sucks" Niel said, "I would prefer to have to eat the slop here for eternity... actually, no, that stuff's awful."
Meanwhile, Space Kid was sticking his head in the water, trying to see if his helmet could keep water out (it could, actually) and Ered was listening to some music on her iPod, ignoring everyone.
That's when they all heard (except for Ered, obviously) a boy's voice in the distance.
"Hey, can you kindly fuck off?"
David looked puzzled before reassuring everyone in the boat that it was just a local, and that they should not repeat that guy's language.
"I'm talking to you, camp man!"
The boy's voice was getting louder and closer, but there was no not to be found.
"For fuck's sake-"
Silence, before the boat began to shake and tilt to the left. Everyone began to panic, apart from Nikki.
"If it's a shark, I wanna keep it!" She yelled enthusiastically.
"E-Everyone stay calm!" David tried to calm the screaming children. The rocking stopped and the kids' screaming eventually died down.
"I have never seen as many pussies in one boat before."
Clinging to the side of the boat was a boy. He couldn't have been any older than ten, judging by how short he was compared to the boat. He had tan skin and a pissed off expression. His black hair was fluffy and not wet...? The same could be said for his hoodie that looked rather comfortable and baggy. It was as blue as the ocean that surrounded the boy, and wasn't soaking wet like it should have been. Finally, those eyes...those eyes were as if there was a bit of seawater inside them. They were haunting and looked tired and sad.
Everything has been quiet for a good two minutes now. Everyone was simply staring at this strange little boy who swore like there was no tomorrow and was dry even though he had been completely underwater for a second. The boy just stared back with the same unimpressed look.
"Well, uh, hello there, young man!" David smiled warmly and offered a hand to help the boy into the boat. "Who are you?"
"Max. I assume you're just an overly-cheerful fuck who cares about everyone they meet, because that's what I'm picking up right now." Max responded, ignoring David's outstretched hand.
"Ah, no, I'm David!" David was practically shoving his hand in Max's face trying to get a handshake.
Max simply moved away slightly, his hands stopped touching the wooden ship. "Well, whatever. Just piss off and get out of my lake."
David chuckled. "You obviously don't understand, Max! A lake is for everyone to share. It's one of Mother Nature's-"
"Yeah, yeah I get it, Jesus. Listen, I live in this lake and I don't think you have any fucking idea how shitty it is to have people like you row boats all over it. If you leave me alone, I'll probably leave you alone, okay?"
"What do you mean 'live'?" Nikki piped up, now pretty interested. "You have a floating house or something? That's pretty damn cool!"
Ah shit. Max had said too much. "You know what? Just forget it. Go on your shitty water thing but leave me out."
"Wait!" David almost yelled. "Let me give you a hand!" And with that, he grabbed one of Max's arms and helped him into the boat. "We'll give you a ride back to our camp and then-"
Max was yelling every swearword know to man until he realised that everyone had seen the bottom half of his body. It was then that his anger turned into embarrassment and he shut his eyes tight.
Around the middle of his body, teal blue scales grew out of Max's flesh and covered a...tail. A literal fishtail just like in that old Disney movie, The Little Mermaid.
"Let go of me!" Max screamed, trying to get off this goddamn boat. "Don't hurt me, I-" His voice was quieter now.
"Holy crap..." Nikki was the first to speak. "That's so cool! How the hell are you like that, Max?" Her eyes were practically shining as she reached out to touch the scales, but Max recoiled. He was just lying in the bottom of the boat, helpless, and it fucking sucked.
"I've...never seen a trick like this." Harrison muttered, examining Max.
Max felt uncomfortable the whole time and tried to get away.
"Max, I'm..." David struggled to talk. "I'm sorry." David put the guy back in the water.
Max swam away after yelling "Fuck you!" and the campers suggested that perhaps they should call off their picnic after that.
They ate their pizza, talking about that boy all evening.
--------------
The next time anyone saw Max was two weeks later. Nikki was relaxing with Niel on a Saturday near the lake, both with a pair of shades on.
"Holy hell, Niel, look!" Nikki grabbed Niel's mustard yellow sweater and dragged him to the edge of the lake. "It's Max!"
Max was sitting on a small rock on his...phone? Mermaids have phones? Well, you learn something new everyday! He was looking bored and lonely.
"Hey, Max, come sit, uh, float with us!" The blue-haired girl shouted in excitement.
Max looked up, paused, and swam over. "What do you want?"
"To talk with you, silly!"
"And to make sure if you're okay." Niel added, "After that boat thing happened."
"Oh I'm fine. After a shit-ton of kids saw me and probably think I'm a fucking weirdo, I'm just fucking dandy." Max hissed. "Also, whoever you are, I don't like people touching me especially when I'm helpless in the bottom of a goddamn boat." He directed that last statement at Nikki.
"I'm Nikki, and this is Niel. Sooo, we have dinner in a sec and wanted to know if you wanted, um..."
"Desert." Neil suggested. "It's just, y'know, some ice cream."
Max pondered for a second, "I'd like that." Then he genuinely smiled for the first time in a long while
