1. WORKING IN SOLITARY OFFICE

PROS : very good for autism, supports your needs to have your own space without being overwhelmed and drained by the expectation to socialise with others

CONS : very bad for ADHD, difficulty to maintain sustained focus to complete tedious and mundane tasks on computer, needing social interaction with others to keep you engaged on your tasks

2. OPEN SPACE OFFICE

PROS : Social support, body doubling, having busy background that keeps you engaged to multitask and switch from one task to another FOR ADHD

CONS : Easily draining, moments of awkwardness when your inability to socialize make it more unbearable to stand others without meltdown/shutdown, easily disturbed by sounds, noises, chattering, and the inevitable masking for AUTISTIC TRAITS

the most fucking annoying thing about mental illness is that knowing more about it literally does not make a difference. you can watch your own insanity creep up on you in real time, know exactly where it’s coming from and what it’s gonna do to you, know all the silly little psychiatry words for all your silly little “symptoms”, and still have no control over its grip on you. like, i am NOT at the steering wheel in here at ALL bro.

Obviously, I hope that everyone in Ukraine stays safe and Ukrainians deserve all of our support right now but I also wanted to say that my heart goes out to all people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia who have been living with the fear of Russian intervention for years and now see their worst fears come true. I see so many posts about how "we shouldn't worry as Westerners because the war will not affect us directly" and while this is absolutely true, I wanted to take a second to acknowledge those who do have to live with the fear that it might affect them directly. I don't have anything more to offer than words and it's not worth much but if you are from Poland, Estonia, Kazakhstan or any other country close to Russia or Ukraine and you are afraid because you don't know what the current events means for the future of your country, I am with you in thought and sending you a warm hug with this post.

okay, the whole “silly writers, siblings aren’t supposed to actually like each other” thing was always annoying, but it has now morphed into actual real-life people telling me and my actual real-life sibling that our relationship is weird and creepy because we enjoy spending time together and aren’t constantly at each other’s throats, so if we could all collectively stop pretending that siblings are only capable of being cruel to each other, and that any depiction otherwise is unrealistic, that would be great, thanks
