Hey guys... wanted to post a quick update. I’m still alive lmao. Rest assured I’m still chugging along on TGOH as well. I reached my goal during Nano so things are going okayish on the writing front...

I got real sick in the second week of November and I’ve been taking it easy. That chronic illness life lmao 😆 thyroid storm my old friend lol. I’ve also been looking into starting a little TGOH discord server, in addition to some other things.

Life’s been hectic but I’m hoping to post the update before the new year...? I should stop giving myself deadlines because I always get sick and can’t do it... but the hope and goal is in and around New Years... 😖 My New Years resolution is to be better about posting here I swear!

Spent a good chunk of the day correcting my Jar Jar Binks impressions/typos because I couldn't just leave them there after realizing what they were so I didn't get to 2000 words. Still, I'm happy with my progress! Crossed a big threshold in the chapter and I'm really looking forward to writing what's next!

Oh... my 😳 I can imagine aggressive Xidhe MCs when someone pspspspspsps's at them. Would MC get into trouble for, say... *ahem* attacking *ahem* their classmates because of that? 👀

The teachers actively encourage fighting - if a student dies... well, that's on the student, isn't it? Depending on the teacher, the MC would either get rewarded or 'detention'. Detention can be anything from helping to sort paperwork to being forced to spend the night outside the dorms with the super cuddly and definitely not murderous monsters.

Then again, when my cat attacks me he just swats at and bites my ankles... 🤷

The Ros react to the mc being the most innocent looking thing but actually a evil person that just using them to accomplish their goal?

Astasus/Vitalius: Through it all, he'll be in denial. With all you've been through, there's just no way. The mental gymnastics he goes through to justify you is borderline Olympic, but even after he realizes he can't lie to himself anymore, he still can't find it in himself to hate you. If you need him... well, he'll just have to work hard to make sure he's always useful.

Eratine: You're just like everyone else - he can't forgive you. Then again, maybe he's the idiot for getting his hopes up in the first place. Part of him wants to use you like you used him, but deep down he knows he can't manage it. He's wary of you now, but you never really managed to gain his trust in the first place - no one really does.

Bernadine: She's not particularly bothered by it. After all, she's doing the same thing. She just doesn't have the time to worry about your motivations day in and day out. You're useful to her, and she's useful to you. In her mind, this is how all relationships should be. That way, she won't be hurt when you die just like everyone else.

Brigid/Hesychia: She's cynical - she never really believed in the innocent persona you put up. Seeing it however is a whole other story, and she'd be lying to herself if she said she wasn't disappointed. Perhaps in you she saw something beyond the cynicism, the base need for survival. It was short, but it was nice while it lasted.

Miki-Tane: They're glad - with that mindset, you might just make it out of here. Despite being used, MT just doesn't have it in them to hate you. If they can help, they'll bend over backwards to try. They do just genuinely want you to live a good life, and if those are the methods you have to do it with, then so be it. They'll be used.

Diacinth: Is amazed you think he's useful - if that's what you need him for then he's happy to be of assistance. He's not used to being needed, so he'll do anything if you ask him to. At first he might be hurt that you were just pretending to be friendly, but his desire to be useful will win out in the end, and he'll stick closer than ever.

Nonnatus: He's beyond betrayed - he won't trust you ever again. He can't. He'll go through every effort in the book to rid himself of you; he'll avoid you and be actively hostile whenever you're around.

Elia: Isn't surprised - aren't they doing the same, after all? If you both have a shared goal, why not use each other to achieve your means? They're sturdier than most, they can handle it. People are people, after all, and they didn't really expect anything different. Self interest trumps all else.

Revenant: It's his literal job description so he's not bothered, though he's impressed with how easily you manage to fool people with your fake persona. He likes selfish people - finds it less tedious to handle as opposed to people who lie to themselves and others that they're good people. He finds it really funny.

Hiii 😳 Just wanted to point something out

So I chose the first option, "Sometimes they just wouldn't come home, and she'd let me spend the night" at the beginning when talking about our parents. Then it says "Even after my parents died [...]". When talking to Revvy I chose that I'm not close to anyone back home and mc says "I mean, my parents are there, but I haven't talked to them in years" 🤔

When I choose to look methodically through the many doors for a key it works; but then I’m given this page.

When I choose to fight the guards off that are putting the collar on I get this page that just says bugs.

And my stats kinda seem…static? They’re not really moving one way or another even though I choose choices that are supposed to give me more than the other stat.
