i actually used mint as my first install on a computer (2014 macmini that i got for free lol) and it still has mint running on it. i also had mint, deb, and pop on the same computer within a year

(ik its 3 months and 3 weeks away, but i might get the cheaper oled steam deck for christmas)

update: my dad got pissed at me because i was going to "break the bios and ruin the ps3", even though im only installing an operating system to MY hdd, which is a 2.5" drive (exact same size as the ps3's drive) and the hdd wont do shit to the bios (the reason he got mad at me is because he worked in dial-up internet and was a cable guy for a while, so he thinks he knows the INSIDES OF A FUCKING COMPUTER BETTER THAN A 13 YEAR OlD WITH NO LIFE AND TAKES APART COMPUTERS FOR FUN, LIKE NO THE FUCK YOU DONT KNOW THE INSIDE OF A COMPUTER BECAUSE YOU HAVENT ACTUALLY DONE ANYTHING WITH THEM EXCEPT PROVIDE INTERNET FOR THEM AND MADE PEOPLES HOUSES HAVE TELEVISION) smh

I am so tired of these distros identifying as "ubuntu" or "manjaro" or whatever the fuck. It doesn't matter how much you change, you will always have an Arch install or a Debain install.

@x11-official and @wayland-official are both good, i like them both @kde-official / @kde-plasma-official are definitely better than @gnome-de-official; gnome is only good for beginners and kde is better than all other desktop environments @arch-official and all of its distros either look terrible or are very unstable; @debian-official can be unstable depending on the distro, but debian itself, @kali-official, @linuxmint-official, @ubuntu-official (and its DE variants), and @zorin-os-official are all really stable from my testing, but all of this is my opinion, so i will disagree with you, but i wont attempt to change your opinion

Infighting is either why open source is so good or bad

For example

@x11-official mad because @wayland-official is trying to do better

@kde-official rightly thinks their interface is better than @gnome-de-official

@arch-officual and @debian-official are... the two main basies of all other distros
