you ever think about how carol’s motto, ‘higher, further, faster’ is first heard in captain marvel as a response to maria. every time carol or another character says it they’re answering a question by maria. every time carol says it or embodies her own motto, maria is cheering her on. she’s showing them all how it’s done and what she’s capable of.

i think some of the people who didnt like thunderbolts, tried to watch it as a superhero movie. when its not. It’s a movie for those who feel like Bob, who feel like Yelena and John and Ava and Bucky and Alexei. It’s a movie for people who have felt the void, who have seen it. It’s a movie that recognizes that you cant fight it alone, that you cant fight it with anger. its a movie about surrounding yourself with loved ones to push through the darkest days of your life. its a movie about a bunch of anti heros thrown to the curb, just trying to get home. not trying to save the world, or the universe, just trying to save a friend.

Something I’ve always wondered about is Carol Danvers body temperature, yes it’s kind of a weird thing to think about but I’m a curious gal. Since she’s essentially a walking star with the powers of an infinity stone I wonder if she’s constantly warm as I imagine to an outsider her powers would probably feel heated, or is she so laced with energy that to her it feels normal? Could she go outside on a hot summer day and feel the sun rays heat her skin or would it feel like nothing to her? Maybe she only feels this way when in full power and when she’s not her body temperature is more regulated. It’s interesting to me.

You know what marvel just managed to do??? It made me CARE. It’s made me care, most unexpectedly, about John Walker and, most obnoxiously, about Robert “Bob” Reynolds and everyone in between. It’s made me care to the extent that I’m already worried about these characters… I know Doomsday’s gonna hurt them. They’re not built for what’s coming and they’re gonna need to join others and I’m just so goddamn worried about how that’s going to play out as well and GODDAMN I’m so happy that I care!!!!!!!!!!!
