How are you keeping sane during this #quarentineandchill time? I’ve had a few people ask me what I’m doing, and when I’m not working with the kiddos, going outside with them for our nature walks, flower picking, and fresh air- when I’ve got time for myself, I’m journaling (really enjoying @saricastudio YouTube vids), following my favorite human @themoon_journal Jo’s uplifting and inspirational posts and stories and learning how the moon phases affect us; and also working in my coursework for #herbalism 💜 I’m doing intentional gratitude daily. Finally have a BEAUTIFUL day with great light to photo my 2020 #planner lineup!! This #plannergirl is set. I was “planning for” (lol) an A6 set-up for this year, but when my planner arrived from Amazon (which had been advertised as A6), it was personal size. I loved it soooooo much (and had chickened out from getting the Mulberry I really wanted (right, @thesaltytwentytwo / @j.l_plans ??? Lol!!!), so I decided to keep my #happyaccident 💖 I’m really loving it and utilizing it well. The Louis Vuitton is a PM and I’m utilizing it as my work planner. I’m keeping both of these very #minimal and #streamlined. I had to steal this gorgeous image from @tinathelen because it completely embodies everything I adore and enjoy on my birthday! (2/20/20!!) I took my kiddos to the dentist and then they got out of school for snow, so they were thrilled. It’s been a pretty nice day (though my birthdays are always difficult because my mom always went big for birthdays, and I miss her terribly so on mine). This year is very different also. My beloved aunt - who is my only family I’ve left- is not doing well and I haven’t heard from her today. This is the first year I’ve had “without” her. And there’s also changes within me that are very different for me- I haven’t gotten to do my usual birthday “routines” (Olive Garden cake and Victoria magazine rituals), which is ok, but I do miss getting any time to myself or time to do anything for myself. I feel so stretched with kids, responsibilities, a mentally ailing husband that feels like I have a 3rd child that’s needier than the actual 2 children, that all I want to do is sleep- and very often, I sit down in pain myself - because I’m still in desperate need of 2 surgeries myself that I keep trying to put off until we get something settled for the husband- and I literally fall out myself. These are not easy times- on any of us- not the least of which are the children- and I’m constantly trying to keep them uplifted and their attention diverted from the troubles of their dad... it is just all a lot. But through all of this, still...something has clicked with me. I no longer worry myself to distraction about what I did to certain family members who resent me- I now understand why and have peace with it. And I’ve been able to let go of past family hurts of my own because I understand now. I’m going into my 43rd year with a knowing peace I’m so thankful for, and knowing that life doesn’t have to end with what we think is all that is offered us. God doesn’t expect us to be suffering at all times to show our obedience. It’s ok to look into the future and feel something other than fear or dread. And I’m looking forward to that. My friends, I can’t believe I forgot to share this honor in my feed! I shared it in stories, but meant to come back and share here! 2020 started off with a huge blessing in my little business. I am so deeply thankful and honored and humbled every time my work gets shared or published, but this was a first for my little Greylily. I am holding on to God’s promises to lead this where He wants it to go. . . I struggle with self-doubt so often- mainly in how can I use this gift to honor God? Am I doing that? So often I feel the weight of, ...”But this is just silly writing that you enjoy doing...” and beat myself up about it. But God doesn’t give gifts He can’t use. So with this blessing, I’m going forth with the knowledge that I will use it to glorify Him and to help bring my family out of a very difficult time. I can’t get enough of this precious baby! Isn’t she the cutest?!? I had a bunny for almost 10 years- she was the most gentle, beautiful creature. I developed a horrible allergy to her though, and we had to make her a home outside. I let her out to get exercise daily, and she stayed right in on our little area. I’m not sure of the specifics, but our neighbor (who’s terrified of animals and chose to buy a house backed in to the mountain where wild animals are constantly 🤔), but she sent an ugly message and a photo of my beautiful girl- chopped up. I don’t know what kind of person could do that. Then yesterday, she revs her motor at my son getting off the school bus and acts like she’s going to hit him. Mama bout to get ugly.
