Something I always find funny about witchery is the idea of manifestation Because, like much of witchcraft and magic, it’s based on psychology. Positive self-talk promotes goals and helps you better attain your achievements. Like manifestation, you can’t just say something and expect for it to come true. Helping reach that manifestation or goal physically helps it become true as well Idk just a fun little thought (it’s probably a very obvious idea that’s been talked about a multitude of times but I wanted to touch on it a bit).

Witch Safety Tip:

Don't burn cinnamon or cassia. I know it smells delicious. I know it has the cleansing power we all dream of. But cinnamon is a SEVERE respiratory irritant. Even if your lungs are healthy, it can cause lung scarring. If your lungs are less than flawless? Disaster.

That includes cinnamon oil.

Cinnamon scented candles are fine, because they're stabilized.

Heating cinnamon or cinnamon oil up is fine.

Just don't burn it.

Bonus Tip: don't put cinnamon on your skin. ESPECIALLY NOT CINNAMON OIL. We use cinnamon oil to strip varnish from furniture. Back in ye olde days of the 2010s, people mixed cinnamon powder with water to give themselves a facial peel. They peeled their flesh right off! Cinnamon can give you third degree chemical burns.

Fall Food Correspondences

Pumpkin - know to be a safe deworming agent for children and pregnant women (softer than strong acting and toxic preparations). seeds known to use as a natural food supplement, as they’re rich in zinc and selenite (anti cancer and anti inflammatory) (also improvement to prostate function? PLEASE CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING THE SEEDS TO HELP OUR PROSTATE) (Cleansing, safety, prosperity, success)

Apples - jury’s still out on that one but I’ve often heard the term ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ and I think they’re rich in vitamin c and potassium. also used in some rituals for fertility (sort of an allusion to the apple from eden? I suppose) (prosperity, healing, strength, fertility)

Corn - known to treat urinary issues as well as a diuretic, also in some cultures used as a meal to treat ailments like bruising, swelling, sores, boils (healing, prosperity, luck) - S (WILL BE BACK LATER

I’m not 100% certain about what animals bones people use but I’ve seen a few posts and it’s got me thinking what if when you eat wings or chicken breast or rotisserie chicken that you take the bones and wash and cleanse them? i’m not 100% certain if this could work but honestly I’m willing to search for shit

Correspondences (Berries)

This is another research post, had some time to spare so I’m doing some logging for correspondences I used the Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine by Andrew Chevallier (and other resources) to help with medicinal properties of these berries  Blackberries - the juice and fruit are known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, making it good for circulation. A syrup would be good for a sore throat. (healing, prosperity, reflection, grounding) Raspberries - also an anti-inflammatory as well as having antioxidant properties. can help nourish and balance the reproductive system, influencing reproductive hormones of males and females (not to sure about the preceding sentence, take with a grain of salt) (motivation, fertility, love) Barberry - antibacterial and thought to have alkaloids that are cancer-inhibiting. improve bile flow and help with other gut related issues. (protection, cleansing) (in my culture it’s often prepared with chicken and rice, fried in a bit of sugar to add as a topping. Usually it’s given at gatherings and small birthdays, it’s a good gesture to do so. It’s also one of the countries leading imports :) ) Strawberry - juice thought to help with the skin (love, beauty) (take the preceding sentence with a grain of salt) Bilberry/Blueberry - berries said to enhance capillaries, as well as micro-circulation in the eyes. Nyx is no longer being vetted (I say this like i’m vetting an employee but in actuality i’m really happy with interacting with her and what the future of deity work + worship holds with her) We will be starting gardening + green witchcraft this coming spring (a delight, hopefully I can grow produce. Since my brother tried and failed miserably). So last night’s reading proved to me that I apparently accepted Lucifer as a deity of mine (really strange because as a kid i used to lucid dream about Lucifer and God (God get out of my dreams plz)). At some point I accepted his control but I never really accepted God’s? Idk-- Imma check tonight.  Of course I regard my readings with a pinch of salt but yeah. I’ll have to read up more on him (Lucifer my guy i am so sorry about putting you on hold for like 5+ years, we’re gonna be best of buds tho) That’s the tea, also Lucifer’s got a love for chocolate, dislike in nuts, and a like in Nirvana (legit screams his vibe)

A reminder that cleaning serves as a great grounding and cleansing practice. I got a bit upset yesterday and I took some time to breath and do some cleaning around my room. It was just folding coats, but it made me feel so much better.

Grimoire Resources/Tools

More of an interactive post, but for anyone with a grimoire, what do you fill it with and what do you use to write it? I use a combination of note books and notion (great for organization of any sort). I tend to use a server library and some stuff I can find in my own public library (want a title? just ask).  so far I have deity chapters, correspondences, spells I might use, spells I use on the regular, stuff I can find in my own region, and sabbat ideas (more chapters to come).
