The motorcycle's engine roared loudly, suggesting that its owner was eager to go somewhere. Summer was coming to an end, some would have to go to school, some to college and universities. Cory had already graduated from college, and he worked almost every day anyway. He only took vacations during holidays - Christmas and Thanksgiving. But even during this vacation, he mostly spent time with his girlfriend's family, alongside his boss.
He wasn't particularly attracted to his job as an employee; he wanted to take over the business by gaining the boss's trust. This was going quite well, thanks in part to his girlfriend - Dylan, who was his daughter. What could spoil all the impressions was her little sister Kat - an annoying rebel, a feminist, and someone who always interfered with Cory's grand plans. But the boy was pleased to hide that this girl would soon die. From leukemia.
Cory was rude to the girl because of her rebellious nature. Her newly acquired friends, who were lesbians, also annoyed him. Black, scary, and fat. Three idiots who created an ugly quartet with Kat.
Corey stood in the doorway of Kat's room, his fingers gripping the doorframe so tightly his knuckles turned white. His head pulsed with rage – that girl had done something unimaginable again. This time, she and her quartet had tried to release some deer from their enclosure, if Corey and Mr. Michaelsen hadn't caught them.
And now that Corey was home, he couldn't just leave it.
"Do you even understand that your stunts could ruin everything?" his voice came out rougher.
Kat sat on the bed, legs crossed, not even looking up at him. Some vile punk music was playing in her headphones.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't know my opinion had to be approved by yours," she finally looked at him.
Corey stepped forward, yanking the headphones from her ears.
"You think this is funny? You think your idiotic protests will change anything? You're just embarrassing the family!"
"Family?" Kat scoffed. "You're only here because you're fucking my sister."
The blow was lightning fast. Corey's palm slammed into her cheek, leaving a red mark. Kat gasped but didn't flinch back.
"There's the real Corey," she hissed. "You're not just a rude bastard, you're a coward too. Hitting a sick girl, huh?"
His breathing quickened. Yes, she was sick. Yes, she was going to die. But right now, she was alive – and ruining everything.
"I'm not the one killing you," he whispered, leaning in so close she could feel his breath. "It's your blood. You're destroying yourself."
Kat tried to pull away, but he grabbed her chin.
"And you know what else is ruining you? Your lesbian friends. They've turned you into an even more... bitchy feminist."
"Leave me alone!" she tried to break free, but he was stronger.
"No," his voice grew quieter, more dangerous. "Maybe you just lack proper male attention?"
His fingers slid lower, towards the collar of her t-shirt. Kat froze, her eyes widening in horror.
"Are you... are you completely fucked in the head?" her voice trembled for the first time in the entire conversation.
Corey smirked.
"I just want to help. Show you your place." His hand almost reached to pull down her overalls, but at that moment, the door burst open.
"Corey?" Dylan stood in the doorway, her face pale. "What... what's happening here?"
He instantly let go of Kat, stepping back.
"Family?" Kat scoffed. "You're only here because you're fucking my sister."

His breathing quickened. Yes, she was sick. Yes, she would die. But right now, she was alive—and ruining everything.

He let go of Kat instantly, stepping back.
"Nothing, darling. Just... explaining to your sister how to behave."
Dylan looked at Kat, who was trembling all over, her fingers digging into the edge of the bed.
"Get out," Dylan said quietly.
Cory wanted to object, but her gaze stopped him. He left, but before closing the door, he cast one last look at Kat.
Kat pulled her legs to herself, staring at the floor with wide eyes. Her hands were shaking. Her thoughts were hazy. "What was that..." Dylan placed a hand on her sister's shoulder, watching her tremble in silence. "Water?" the girl finally managed to ask, and Kat nodded approvingly. Her sister left her, heading for the kitchen.
