Im actually so pissed off at The Old Guard 2. The fuck you mean you made me wait 5 years for a movie that ends in a cliffhanger to lead into a movie that we may never see. The amount of hell the 2nd movie had to go through to get made and there's no guarantee this story will be finished??

There is nothing I hate more than movies that are only made as lead ins to sequels. Sure, there is a plot in there and a self contained story of sorts, but the true story of TOG has ALWAYS been the found family and the movie ends with them separated with a villain in the way.

Im actually so so fucking angry I love these movies so much and I was so excited for the sequel only to feel like the story has been tugged out of my grip and dangled years away again.

Still crying over the fact that Viktor, despite making all the other robots in the alternate reality move and hunt actively Jayce, only made the robot that was his Jayce move just enough to give our Jayce the axe.

He left him in peace in a beautiful tomb that is nearly untouched by the decay around it. The only time he disturbed him was to help our-Jayce save the world.

Even then, he did it gently with a hand on his shoulder saying “hello my dear, I need your help”

I am worried about Sevika. She's been making strides towards both uniting the undercity and adopting Jinx which has historically been a bad combination.

YES YES YES THANK YOU!! Someone put it into words but my first thought wasn’t “Sevika is into that ooo” it was “Didn’t you just degrade the Zaunites and say you consider them less then human but now you’re fighting like them???”

So if I were to take away from this moment something deeper than “man Sevika's a freak”, I'd point out that we've seen the same tactic not long before.

What does this say about Caitlyn? She's fighting dirty. She's fighting like a cornered rat. She's fighting like a Zaunite.

And first of all there's hypocrisy. Caitlyn's been calling these people animals and monsters and whatnot but when placed in an identical situation she responds identically. Case in point: getting so mad at Jinx for terrorizing people out of grief that she goes ahead and starts to terrorize people out of grief. Sevika's expression afterwards is mostly “joke's on you I'm into that” but there's some surprise there too — you wouldn't expect that move from a Piltie.

Then there's desperation. Because she needs revenge; she needs it or she'll never ever forgive herself for what happened. So she'll throw away her morals and her dignity and just do whatever it takes to achieve the goal, whether it means chomping on someone like a feral raccoon or becoming a military dictator… which puts her in the same mindset as Zaunites, all of whom are desperate to survive and a lot of whom could never afford morals and dignity in the first place.

Okay so, Caitlyn

She is absolutely fascinating to compare between the seasons specifically from a fighting style point of view and I have not seen anyone talking about it.

Season 1, she shoots from a distance. We don’t see her in close quarters fighting in the hand-to-hand way because she is detached from the central conflict. She has no emotional ties to whatever is happening with Vi (who we see fighting hand to hand) and Jinx (same thing, hand to hand at least half the time) so she is removed from it all and physically inserts herself into it at her will, the same way she shoots a gun into a fistfight.

In Season 2, she is in the middle of the fight throwing hands and hitting Sevika with her rifle physically. She is no longer removed. She is a part of the central conflict, her mother’s death and Caitlyn’a descent into grief and dictatorship is a central conflict. Her fighting style shows it with her becoming a central figure in the fight and not just a spectator deciding when to join from a distance.

Not to mention she starts to fight the way a Zaunite would by biting Sevika in a move identical to how we saw Isha, a born Zaunite, fighting a few episodes prior. Which is an interesting move considering her feels towards Zaunites now. Where she was once detached and could view them as people because she saw them as whole beings, she now views them like animals and that isn’t refuted in her mind because she is up close and can see their teeth and the whites of their eyes. She doesn’t let herself step back more than absolutely necessary to see the full picture.

The irony of her using a Zaunite move at a moment when she most hates them as a people instead of her previous Piltover moves is not lost.

I’m curious

Jinx had to have measured so Sevika’s arm in order for that arm to fit perfectly on it. How did she manage that?

Did she do it while Sevika was asleep?

Which lends an image of jinx crouched over a sleeping Sevika like a fucking vulture measuring her arm with a notepad balance somewhere probably on Sevika‘s forehead in order to be able to make it 

I wish I was a good enough artist to be able to draw what I am thinking of right now because it is absolutely hilarious
