SOLAUCTOR.
in truth, tidus hadn’t been able to put his finger on it just yet. something about the maester made his skin crawl, and that inability to distinguish exactly why he felt that way was driving him crazy. perhaps because he had never even heard of yevon before coming to spira he wasn’t blindly loyal to its teachings and those at the head of its following – or maybe it was how close this guy kept standing to yuna. he was going to choose to go with that first option.
❝ what’re you getting at? ❞ he asks him, his whole stance rigid as he folds his arms against his chest. he still wasn’t sure what to make of any of this, so he could hardly give any sort of answer on just whatever it was he was looking for. the easiest answer he could keep giving was that he was looking for a way home. ❝ i’m just trying to get back home – ❞ to zanarkand! ( but he was told not to tell anyone that, wasn’t he? ) ❝ and help yuna if i can. i dunno all this stuff about truth and lies you’re goin’ on about. ❞
O, LITTLE WOULD a mind so ignorant grasp when it came to the obvious. the maester releases a long-withheld sigh, shaking his head from side to side. he can practically feel that distrusting gaze set upon him- and oh, how he deserved it!
but appearances must be kept up, he supposed.
the mage cants his head, surveying the loud-mouthed swordsman with something akin to masquerading disdain. his voice is affable, polite, and yet there is a tone within it that denotes no small amount of mockery. good luck PROVING it. ❝ such a dedicated guardian. lady yuna must count herself lucky, indeed. ❞ one hand reaches forward to grasp one of the fruits atop his dining table, holding it steadily in his palm. ❝ and as such, i trust that you are fully prepared to embrace the guardian’s code. are you not? ❞

OOC. something interesting about Anima that i’ve noticed, is that she has what appears to be a card similar to a holy saint/prayer card on the chain around her neck. On it, there is a religious depiction of Anima as she was in life.

RUINCAST.
“There is nothing wrong with placing your faith in something.” It’s a statement, more-so than a question. Fingers are already clasped together—the aftermath of a prayer. “Is that why you’re here?” | @guadosin·
❝ OH, HOW ATTENTIVE. ❞ the maester turned his gaze toward the young man, long fingers awkwardly so that their claws were hidden by the heavy fabric of his robes. his eyes wander the temple-like structure, enjoying the ambience. the aura. ❝ faith is often a source of strength and stability for the people. it provides hope for those that have none in such sorrowful times indeed ❞

IT IS WHAT FAITH CONDEMNS that i would bring at your behest; a way to stop the conundrum from breaking down upon our heads. ERADICATION; obliteration is, in few terms, the only hope of our world’s salvation. for it is in death that we find solace away from the atrocities of our made SIN. a faraway place in which faith and FAYTH have no real means. harken to my words, o’ world; I will destroy spira. i will save it!

NAME: Seymour (last name redacted) AGE: 28 HEIGHT: 6′6″ / 172 lbs. TYPE: Red Mage. SPECIES: ??? humanoid hybrid. MOTHER: Anima. Deceased. // MATERIA:Cure, Blizzaga, Thundaga, SUMMON: SHIVA.
Brought to life by the geneticist, Kilmister, while in the employment of Shinra Electric Power Co., Seymour found himself in a world saturated with knowledge and inquiries. Born as a side-product of genetic engineering, Seymour’s genetic code was pieced together using leftover samples of humanoid DNA gathered in the permafrost in the archaeological dig sites to the north. While officially created by a mere apprentice of Professor Hojo, Seymour proved to be an invaluable asset when choosing the locations of the Mako Reactors outside of Midgar.
HIS ABILITIES included something special; the extreme sensitivity to the scent of the Lifestream. Able to find springs of pure Mako energy by sensing auras and tracking scent alone, he is an invaluable asset toward finding fertile land.
Raised primarily by his mother, Anima, who was also an apprentice scientist in the division, Seymour was granted access to immeasurable study-material. A literal sponge, he soon became obsessed with researching things like materia and the fount of its power, the lifestream. He too became invested in the study of the Cetra, attempting to delve deeper into his own ‘meaning’ and finding very little. Particularly captivated by the magical ability to summon monsters to his side, they became his primary focus and near-obsession. Certain knowledge however, was almost always kept out of reach. Mainly anything that involved company secrets.
NOTE. Seymour was away from Midga, studying the sudden opening of earth in Mideel when the WEAPON strikes the city. Anima is one of the many casualties within the actual building.
AC - DoC. Upon learning the truth about the JENOVA project with the general public, a deep-seated hatred is grown from the seed planted in Seymour. At the point of DoC, he has become employed by the services of the WRO to study the sudden fluctuations in the planet’s Lifestream following their discovery of DG’s attempt to resurrect OMEGA.

THEY DON’T BELIEVE you. . . this surprises you? ❞ he is stagnant, the maester’s lavender gaze finding that pampered head of yellow hair. this one. . . he had sensed this one’s distrust from the VERY BEGINNING. granted, his methods were not at all heroic, but the ends would justify the means they would see.
they would never again be forced to FEEL HIS PAIN, his ANGUISH. and none would be made to walk the ground of a planet made doomed by greed. ❝ have you come to seek the truth, or perhaps a lie? ❞

❝ WHY DO YOU resist what cannot be overcome? ❞ lavender irises find solace in a youthful appearance, lips pursed taut with the lingering despair of thoughts on SIN. ❝ chaos will always exist. always pervade. it is an inevitability. ❞

THERE IS A curve at his spine, hands hidden in the soft material of too-blue sleeves. prayer beads crinkle and knock together with little, wooden promises that draw together his ensemble. ❝ the pleasure is all mine, ❞ voice pleasant, light, lofty. ❝ please, make yourself at home. . . ❞

❝ OH? DO ENLIGHTEN me as to why. ❞ a genuine bout of curiosity folded carefully in his voice. Spindling fingers make their home within the fabric of his sleeves, casual, calm and collected.

❝ IF YOUR OFFER is EARNEST, lady ultimecia, then i am afraid that i must decline. ❞ a formal sweep of his long, decorated sleeves. he inclines his head toward the winged BEAST of a woman, lilac eyes leering from their tops. ❝ but rest assured; were it another day, another era of peace and prosperity, i would bathe in your waters ‘til both our thirsts were quenched. ❞

That right there is Dissidia. Now let's talk about Dissidia? Can we talk about Dissidia, please, guys? I've been dying to talk about Dissidia with you all day, OK? "Seymour Guado," this name keeps coming up over and over again. Every day Seymour is getting sent back to me. Seymour Guado! Seymour Guado! I look in FFX, and this whole box is Seymour! So I say to myself, "I gotta find this guy! I gotta go up to him and put Dissidia in the guy's goddamn hands! Otherwise, he's never going to get it and he's going to keep being forgotten." So I go up to Seymour’s office and what do I find out, guys? What do I find out?! There is no Seymour Guado. The man does not exist, okay? So I decide, "Oh shit, buddy, I gotta dig a little deeper." There's no Seymour Guado? You gotta be kidding me! I got boxes full of Seymour! All right. So I start marchin' my way down to Yoshinori Kitase in SE and I knock on his door and I say, " Yoshinori Kitase! Yoshinori Kitase! I gotta talk to you about Seymour." And when I open the door what do I find? There's not a single goddamn desk in that office! There...is...no... Yoshinori Kitase in Square Enix. Guys, half the characters in this company have been made up. Dissidia is a goddamn ghost town. X.
