Aside from giving me the framework to resetting my scarcity mindset into the abundance mindset, one of the most important lesson I’ve learned from Sifu @danlok is on daily productivity. In his most recent book “Unlock It”, he emphasizes that it is extremely important for us to develop our Daily Nonnegotiables aka the actions we take every day no matter what. Your Nonnegotiables should align with the outcomes you want to achieve. For me, here are Guan Tyng’s NONNEGOTIABLES : ⭐️Physical Well-Being - 60-120min a day of cardio, weight-lifting, and Taiji practice. ⭐️Spiritual & Emotional Well-Being: 60min a day on morning ritual that includes Vipassana meditation 🧘♂️ , writing ✍🏼 , affirmation 😎, visualization 🌌, Gratitude 🙏🏼 Session, and journaling 📔 . ⭐️Daily Growth: 60min a day of focused learning - includes reading, online courses/masterclasses, YT videos/podcasts by successful individuals, consulting with experts, and meeting/interviewing other successful high performers ⭐️Business Well-Being: 60min a day spent on thinking, looking at business data, developing strategies, and keeping a pulse on my business and team members. ⭐️Financial Well-Being: 30min a day looking at financials, and reviewing numbers. ⭐️Social Capital Growth: 30mi a day reaching out to more like-minded high performers for possible collaborations or network-exchanges. These are the 6 NONNEGOTIABLES I’m committed to practice daily until I’ve manifested my vision for my life, my businesses, my relationships with others, and my value to the world 🌎 What are your Daily Nonnegotiables ? 🤔 Share it with us under comments below or you can DM me if you prefer😉 Let’s add value to each other’s lives so that we can add more value to more humans together, one at a time. 👊🏼🔥 https://www.instagram.com/p/B9PCtEvFr9Z/?igshid=j9k86sx18vl6

Just started reading @principles by @raydalio tonight as recommended by @thisisbillgates @ariannahuff & @tonyrobbins From this book, I’m very excited to learn, digest, and implement some of the principles to improve my life, my work, my relationship with myself, my family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers, my emotional maturity, my spiritual growth, my health and my contribution to the world. Without a set of principles and systems to guide us, we are just living life based on willpower, how we feel, and what happen to us. As Ray Dalio opens up his first chapter with this: “Time is like a river that carries us forward into encounters with reality that requires us to make decisions. We can’t stop our movement down this river and we can’t avoid these encounters. We can only approach them in the best possible way.” Besides learning from Ray, I’d like to learn from you as well, if you are actually reading this post until this sentence. 🤔 WHAT is the Top #1 Principle you live by and WHY❓ In advance, thank you 🙏🏼 for sharing this with me and everyone who reads this post. I really appreciate it. 🤗 - GT https://www.instagram.com/p/B72q6Uml6_g/?igshid=1j13kv9mjpdom

Laughter 😁 is not the only medicine in life but it’s definitely one of the best medicine. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, pushing your limits, or doing things that may seem ridiculous. If you are not living your life to the fullest now, you are probably taking life way too seriously. 😏 If you don’t hold back on life, life would not hold back on you and return with abundance of joy, happiness, and mishaps you will laugh about decades from now. 🤗 As the famous ancient Chinese scholar, Tang Bohu (唐伯虎) said in one of his poems, “While others are teasing at my madness, I am laughing at their shortsightedness.” ”别人笑我太疯癫, 我他人看不出穿” https://www.instagram.com/p/B7q2yZjFejn/?igshid=818jibci76td

Earlier today, I was reading #the50thlawofpower by @50cent and @robertgreeneofficial as part of my morning routine. I am grateful that I was rereading the very chapter of “Turning Shit into Sugar - Opportunism”. It really fire 🔥 me up to hit my gym routine today. In May 2000, as Fifty was getting ready to publish his debut album, Power of the Dollar, he was shot nine bullets into him by a hired assassin in the back of car, one bullet going through his jaw and nearly killing him. Almost overnight, he lost his album contract, his friends, and his reputation. Most people would have quit if they were in Fifty’s shoe. As written by Robert, “When sets occur, it is almost a personal affront or punishment.“ How could this have ever happened?” we ask. We either blame other people or we blame ourselves. In both cases, we lose valuable time and become unnecessarily emotional. When you take the victimhood mindset, you become powerless and lose control over your life. Instead of mulling over the negativity, Fifty turned all of the bad things that happened to him into great things. He understands that no one can anything to hurt him if he can turn calamities from his enemies/haters into prosperity. This reminds be of what my Taichi Sifu shared with me the other day, “If your opponent cannot feel your center, he will never be able to push you over. If you are using brute force and your opponent is physically stronger than you, he will win and you will get hurt. When you are attacked, it is extremely important to stay relaxed, balanced, and soft while applying the form. Your opponent should feel like he is pushing his strength into the void. Feel where they want to go and help them along until they lose their balance. Essentially, you are using their weapon as your weapon while protecting your core.” These 2 things may be extremely far-fetched but Fifty was applying the same principles without learning Taichi. He transformed the attacks he got from his assassins/enemies into his weapon aka his ultimate identity and branding of Fifty. There’s an old Chinese proverb that says “comparisons among men often kill those who compare”- 人比人,气人 😤 📸 @pacific.southwest Thanks to the egocentric and the meritocratic society, we couldn’t help but to keep comparing our lives based on others around us. Yet, no matter how good you are at a certain art, how much money you have, how many PhD degrees or awards you’ve earned, etc., you will always find someone who is better than you, richer than you, or is more successful than you based on certain standards. There’s nothing wrong with being competitive. As the matter of fact, I agree with the ancient Greeks that one of the keys to happiness is to always strive for excellence, but do it according to your own standard rather than using the standards set by others. As Dr. Maxwell Maltz writes in Psychocybernatics, “Stop measuring yourself against ‘their’ standards. You are not ‘them’ and can never measure up. Neither can ‘they’ measure up to yours—nor should they.” #DrMaxwellMaltz Be your own life’s writer, producer, director, photographer, editor, actor, audience, and fan as you are the only human being capable of doing so. For the first time in the current human history, most of us have all of the informational & people resources we need to create the life that we want and deserve, especially if you have an Instagram account to read, like, and comment on this post. Just right at your finger tips, you can learn any skills you can ever imagine or connect with anyone in the world. You just have to start creating opportunities for yourself to realize the life you want and also to impact other lives positively. Life is neither long nor short. It’s up to You to decide whether it’s a life worth living or not. ✅Are you doing it for Yourself? ✅Are you doing it for Your Family and Those You Care? ✅Are you doing it to Help Others? Share under comments 👇🏼 below on what are you going to do TODAY to live the life that You are proud of. #stopcomparing #stopcomplaining #life #bestlife #existgreat #greatness #excellence #living #millionairemindset #mindset #10X #success #billionairemindset #morningmotivation #morningroutine #morningformula #routine https://www.instagram.com/p/B7bZ4fNFXRJ/?igshid=1b9b7bor7komu

In this digitally connected world 🌎, it’s important that we are using technology (especially the internet) to enhance our quality of life rather than feeding our thirst of mental diversion. If we do not follow a set of basic rules and principles, it is extremely easy for us to get sucked back into the vortex of unlimited digital info-media, “entertainment”, and superficial social proofs. As Pascal said on his Pensées, “The only thing that consoles us for our miseries is diversion. And yet it is the greatest of our miseries. For it is that above all which prevents us thinking about ourselves and leads is imperceptibly to destruction. But for that we should be bored, and boredom would drive us to seek some more solid means of escape, but diversion passes our time and brings us imperceptibly to our death.” 🤔 That’s why it’s crucial for us to be aware of our underneath intentions of using technology. To better understand how to utilize technology to improve my productivity without being a slave to it, I find Cal Newport’s definition of Digital Minimalism very helpful. According to him, Digital Minimalism is a philosophy that helps you question what digital communication tools (and behaviors surrounding these tools) add the most value to your life. It is motivated by the belief that intentionally and aggressively clearing away low-value digital noise, and optimizing your use of the tools that really matter, can significantly improve your life. To be a digital minimalist, in other words, means you accept the idea that new communication technologies have the potential to massively improve your life, but also recognize that realizing this potential is hard work. Every single day, I strive to review my life from the perspective of One ☝🏼 fundamental principle I’ve learned recently or from the past. One of the principles that has been lingering in my mind is the notion of “emptying your cup”. As far as I can remember, this is one of the best principles I’ve ever learned. I often come back to it this least every quarter a year, consciously or unconsciously. No matter how experienced we are in life, how many years we’ve lived, or how much money/credit we have gained from practicing our art, it’s crucial for us to embrace the beginner’s mindset. As a professional, it is important to showcase our skills and experiences to others so that we can capture other’s attentions and add value to their lives. In retrospective, the expert mindset aka the “full cup” also encourages complacency and arrogance. Arrogance stalls us from being receptive to challenge the old and learn the new. We have to empty our cups as the beginner’s mindset is the precursor of the driving force of our curiosity. Without this driving force, we’ll stop learning and become unhappy as our brain 🧠 becomes stagnant. In terms of happiness, a close companion of learning is the degree of engagement people have with tasks that provide them knowledge and fulfillment. People who are intensely absorbed in a task can lose track of time and place. Hours pass like minutes. They may be tired by the task but emerge energized and happy. This condition is known as "flow," a name coined 30 years ago by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. In order for us to stay in the flow and be happy consistently, it’s important that we never stop learning every day. The best state of mind for learning is when we have emptied our cups. And as we grow older, we have to keep pouring the water out of the cup constantly to renew the water we pour into our intellectual needs. So consider new thoughts and opinions. Even if you disagree, at least you can understand the basis behind them. @brucelee sums it up nicely: 😎“Empty your cup so that it may be filled; become devoid to gain totality.” https://www.instagram.com/p/B6ikNLylxu5/?igshid=1f4j3yows0l9z

Those who know me personally know that I’m passionate about Emerson’s message on authenticity. Especially when I’m learning something new or relearning something old to push my proficiency to the next level, I find myself imitating the success horribly. Imitation is part of the learning process of any skills under the sun. But, if you want to maximize your potential in any art/skill, you have to absorb the essence from the elites, remember the principles, and do it with your most authentic way. I’m grateful that I’m not a Imitation Machine 🤖 but someone who keeps striving be original. Although it’s painful to go through the learning process, as long as you keep striving to put your most authentic soul and heart into your art consistently, you will eventually find your most authentic swing like Rannulph Junuh did. And no matter what you do, always remember to do it to help others. It’s not what you say or do but how you say or do that matters. #reminder #dailyreminder #selfreliance #authentic #authenticity #gratitude #emerson #style #lifestyle #photography #entrepreneur #discipline #principles #success #millionairemindset #billionairemindset #mindset #robot #motivation https://www.instagram.com/p/B58TWIxF5MF/?igshid=bj7m49mhhjnt

The best investment in you can ever make is Yourself! 👊🏼 If you want to become educated in a specific subject, do your research, pick up the best books you can find on that specific subject, and learn from those books 📚 if you want to learn a new skill, like public speaking, selling, copywriting, dancing, singing, or acting, start spending at least 1 hr a day practicing from a mentor/program that suits you the best; If you want to get stronger & faster, you need show up at the gym, lift the weights 🏋️ , flip or hammer the tires, punch 🥊 the bags, run the tracks, etc. Doesn’t matter which aspect of your life you want to improve on, all you have to do is Investing In Yourself with Time ⏰ & Effort 💪🏼 💡Wisdom doesn’t happen after one mistake! 💰Wealth doesn’t happen after one windfall! 💪🏼Strength doesn’t happen after just one punch! 🌲Growth doesn’t happen after one success!
