Prologue: Part 1
The day was going as they always did. The factory was hot, stuffy, and full of moving bodies and machines. Jak was stuck on the melting station as always. His quirk allowed him to superheat his palms, allowing him to melt almost anything. After he got his certificate to use it in such a crNowded space, Jak's quirk got him a nice raise and potentially put him in a position for a promotion to the corporate offices. Raises and promotions though, were the last thing on everyone's mind, even Jak. "Did you hear about Salt Lake?" Jak heard from across the vat of bubbling metals. "Yeah, the Lakers had a great ga-" "Not that! The raid." Oh that, I thought it was just a fake rumor?" "Nah, the mayor's trying to make it look so, but it's true. Police and FBI went after some DuFonz family, drug smuggling or something, but when they got there it looked like a semi smashed through the place." "No kidding?" "No kidding. Not one person was conscious, and more than a few weren't breathing." Jak stopped listening. Drug rings hit each other all the time. Nothing new. "But it weren't no rival gang or nothing." "Huh?" Jak's ears perked back up. "Ye, all the stuff was there. Drugs, phoney bills, even tax records. There was enough evidence there to send the whole family off for good. You'd think a rival gang would've taken the good stuff and torched the place." Maybe they- oh crap the supe's lookin over here! Look like your doin' som'in, aight?" Jek resumed working. The supervisor had probably been looking at him, Jek hadn't even noticed he'd stopped working while listening to the two yap on about the stories. 'Rumours Jek. They just rumours. No underpaid factory floor worker would know nothin bout actual drug busts and conspiracies. He probably just heard it from his drinking buddies.' Still, even if it did happen, what criminals would leave stuff behind for the cops to grab?
The day dragged on and on, the factory got hotter, and soon the entire place stunk of sweaty bodies, all moving, melting, and cutting metal. Eventually Jek sat back and relaxed his body. A supervisor close by came and released him for the day. "You've done enough today Jek. We got more than enough metal melted for the quota, enjoy your weekend." Jek wiped his hand off and shook the supervisor's hand. "Thanks Ryan, I'll see you Monday." As Jel went to punch out he passed by the two workers from earlier. Apparently their focus was now on who Kelly at Bill's Billiards was falling for. Jek chuckled to himself, knowing full well that "Sally" was already engaged to Hank from accounting. 'Why'd I take that tall tale about the drug bust seriously this morning, you drive them in a blue Honda and they'd think it was a red Ferrari after two shots.
After punching out, Jek pulled off his sweaty safety clothing and tossed on his sweatshirt and jogging pants, then took the next bus to downtown.
Upon stepping in his apartment, Jek was ready to take a good long nap, but decided to turn the TV on to hear some news and find out yesterday's lottery numbers. Not cause he bought tickets, but because hearing his entitled next door neighbor yell in frustration over losing again gave Jek life. After some boring summaries of local elections, the numbers came on and, as usual, shouts of anger and the sound of paper ripping came from the other side of the apartment wall. Jek smiled to himself and turned his head while nodding off. 'He must've been close this time', Jek remarked, 'he didn't yell until the last three numbers.' Though his sleep after was deep, it wasn't long before Jek was woken up by the TV. "Oh dammit all." Jek crawled out of his floor bed. "Why can't I ever turn that stupid thing off." As he got up to turn off the TV, Jek stopped as he saw what the noise that had woken him was. It was Salt Lake City. And it was burning. "Authorities have yet to find the cause of the turmoil", the newscaster was saying, "but it seems that gangs in the city have broken out in hostilities with a turf war. Reports are coming in of gunfights between various groups. Police are rushing in SWAT teams to defuse the situation, but all civilians who can are encouraged to leave the city for their own safety. Heroes are being distributed throughout the city and evacuation plans are-." Jek stopped listening. How could he? Images of violence and death were flashing across the screen every few seconds. Most were enough to make any adult's stomach churn, and he was not good with blood. After rushing to the kitchen and coming back with a bucket in case, he found the balding newscaster had been changed for a brunette reporter in what looked like a parking garage. "It's not good George", the reporter began, "it seems two different gangs banded and are pushing back several SWAT teams using hostages as shields. I'll have to move soon to- Wait! Somethings happening! The gang members are… flying through the air?" As the camera turned to capture the street, Jek nearly retched again, but he was stopped by the bizarre sight of, what he assumed were the gangs, being punted into the air and smashed into the walls as if hit by an invisible truck. The hostages though were fine, as bodies were flying they suddenly disappeared only to reappear down the street behind a barricade of SWAT shields. The feed went back to George. "I'm getting reports all over the city of what we just saw. The gangs are being stopped in their tracks and missing people are appearing out of thin air." The anchor was at a loss for words. Jek muted the TV and sat down in shock, partly from the retching and partly from what he just witnessed on live TV. How could an army of gangs be defeated like that? It hadn't even really started, turf wars usually took days to settle down small ones and weeks to diffuse big ones. But an entire city-wids war? Stopped before a day passes? "Who the hell could do that?" Jek asked, lost for words. Even though he knew exactly who could do that.

This is going to be a mha fanfiction account. I will not be writing stories with the main characters of the anime and manga/spinoffs other than a few name mentions. This will be focused on an original character who is an outsider of the hero society seen in the anime and manga. I will start posting the fanfiction itself on Mondays.
