man you know what i love about canon millfour? the way they're both so clearly excited to talk to each other. gus particularly is actually super childish and gushy, which is pretty unusual given that he's a dude in his twenties in 1937 who is expected to absolutely not have the world's most adorable barely-suppressed crush on another man, but here we are? they are so excited about each other. that's so good. dorks

About Thin Air - I just finished it yesterday and while I didn't think it was as good as Dark Matter, I think it's similar enough that you'd probably like it. It has the same kind of creepy feel, parts of it definitely spooked me, and the writing style is very similar. I did find it a bit slow to start but it gets good later on!

thanks! i think it's interesting that michelle paver decided to do like, an unconnected book with a similar premise to DM? her writing style in DM worked really well, it was super atmospheric, so i'm hype to see that again

Not a fanwork unfortunately, but I set up a Dark Matter page on TV Tropes! It still needs to be like indexed and stuff because it’s pretty unsearchable on the site and so far there are only 3 tropes on it (let alone adding character-specific tropes) but I hope this is ok and people find it useful/contribute if they want/etc!
