Sims 4 Holidays Legacy Challenge
Do you love holidays? 🎉 Then I have the perfect challenge for you!
This is a legacy challenge in the Sims 4 where you play with the same family for 10 generations, and each generation is themed after a different holiday. Some basic rules for this challenge are that you should play on normal lifespan and ideally not use money cheats (but hey, do what you want). You should also always try to have a successful holiday for the specific holiday of your current gen (i.e., if you are on gen 1, your Sim should have a successful Love Day each year), and I encourage going all-out for each gen’s holiday (e.g., by decorating extensively, throwing parties, etc.).
Before playing, you will need to add the following holidays to your in-game calendar:
Bunny Day (set for your day of choice in Spring)
Traditions: Baking, Egg Hunt, Flower Bunny (you may add others if you wish)
Summerfest (set for your day of choice in Summer)
Traditions: BBQ, Drinking, Fireworks (you may add others if you wish)
Spooky Day (set for any day before Harvestfest in Fall)
Traditions: Decorate (Spooky theme), Spooky Spirit (or Mischief Spirit), Trick or Treat, Wear Costumes (you may add another tradition if you wish)
You may also make the random holidays (e.g., Prank Day, Talk Like a Pirate Day, etc.) permanent holidays on your calendar if you wish.
I will be playing this challenge on YouTube if you’d like to follow along (you can find the link to my channel in my profile)! Feedback is welcome! Please use #sims4holidayschallenge if you decide to play the challenge so I can see your stories!
Enjoy, and happy holidays! ♥ -Gwen
Generation One: Love Day 💕
Love is in the air.
You’ve always loved love, even though you felt it was missing from your life as a child. Growing up, you had a bad relationship with your parents. In fact, you became emancipated as a teenager just to get away from them. From a young age, you fantasized about your future spouse and the perfect, happy family you would create together. You dreamed of having your very own meet-cute—preferably in a coffee shop, since you love coffee—like the stars in your favorite rom coms. As a young adult, you strive to live the onscreen fantasy of these stars by entering the world of acting and searching for your true love among your co-stars. You’re a bit possessive of the romantic partners you manage to woo, but it’s only to keep them from straying, to ensure nothing gets in the way of the future you have planned. The only problem is, you’re a bit indecisive. You’re looking for The One, after all. Everything has to be perfect. You don’t mean to play with people’s feelings, but you have to kiss a few frogs and break a few hearts to find your Prince (or Princess) Charming. Once you’ve found your soulmate (who might be a bit older than you expected—but age can’t get in the way of true love), you’ll do whatever it takes to keep them interested, including plying them with beautiful flower arrangements. You might even add a little something extra to them, just to make sure your happily-ever-after stays happy ‘til death do you part…or even beyond it.
Traits: Perfectionist/Romantic/Jealous
Aspiration: Serial Romantic, Soulmate
Career: Actor
Rules:
Start the challenge as a teenager living alone (you may either start with the base 20,000 simoleons, or, for an extra challenge, start with 0 simoleons after buying an empty lot with a tent) and work as a part-time barista while in high school
Max the acting and flower arranging skills
Reach level 10 of the actor career and complete the Serial Romantic (first) and Soulmate (second) aspirations
Have at least one of your co-stars become your boyfriend/girlfriend
Marry someone who is significantly older than you (e.g., if you are a young adult, your spouse must be an adult or elder)
Once you are married, gift your spouse with at least one flower arrangement every week (at least one of these must be scented with tulip, and at least one must be scented with orchid)
If your spouse dies before you, invite their ghost to move into your household and marry them again
Optional: Unlock the Coffee Fanatic Lifestyle
Generation Two: Prank Day 😈
It’s just a prank, bro.
Growing up, your parents were always super lovey-dovey. To be honest, it was kind of gross. From the time you were a teen, love and relationships never held much interest for you. Instead, you get your enjoyment from playing pranks on everyone around you. Some of them don’t appreciate your sense of humor, but you know you’re hilarious. At least your bros think you’re funny. They encourage you to share your pranks with the world by becoming a famous SimTuber. Your naysayers may call your pranks mean and hurtful, but your loyal fans will always support you. Whether you’re famous or infamous, your celebrity status remains intact. People know who you are, and that’s what matters. All publicity is good publicity, after all.
Traits: Goofball/Bro/Self-Absorbed
Aspiration: Chief of Mischief
Career: Social Media (Internet Personality)
Rules:
Max the mischief, comedy, and media production skills
Reach level 10 of the social media (Internet personality) career and complete the Chief of Mischief aspiration
Live in San Myshuno or Del Sol Valley from the time you are a young adult until you die
Become a Global Superstar (five-star celebrity)
Gain an atrocious reputation, purchase the FeudBringer perk with your fame points, and start a celebrity feud with someone
Throw at least one lampoon party
Never have a boyfriend or girlfriend and only have children with one-night-stands
Generation Three: Bunny Day 🐰
Hippity hoppity…
As a child, your parent constantly tried to involve you in their pranks, and more often than not, you were the victim. As a teenager, you did your best to avoid your parent as much as possible, spending your time baking in the kitchen or painting in your room. As soon as you were old enough, you moved as far away from your parent as possible—all the way to the countryside. There, you finally feel at peace, surrounded by nature and the local wildlife. You manage to juggle a career as a painter with running a small farm and baking cookies for your neighbors in your spare time. It’s a simple life, but you love it. Caring for the animals brings you joy, and the wild rabbits even show their appreciation by helping you tend your garden. Did I mention you’re obsessed with bunnies? They’re just so cute and fluffy! Some people might call you childish for your love of bunnies and all things bunny-related, but you couldn’t care less. You prefer the company of animals to people most of the time anyway, but you may make an exception for a special someone close to you.
Traits: Creative/Childish/Animal Enthusiast
Aspiration: Country Caretaker
Career: Painter
Rules:
Max the baking and painting skills
Reach level 10 of the painter career and complete the Country Caretaker aspiration
As a young adult, move to Henford-on-Bagley and live on a lot with the simple living lot challenge until you die
Become friends with at least three wild rabbits and grow a small vegetable garden for them
Become best friends with the Flower Bunny
Complete the decorative egg collection
Befriend and marry one of your neighbors
Generation Four: Talk Like A Pirate Day 🏴‍☠️
A pirate’s life for me.
You grew up on a farm in the country, living the simple life. Every day, you helped your parent take care of the animals and make meals from your family’s home-grown produce. BORING. This was never the life you wanted. Instead, you daydreamed about having grand adventures and seeking fantastic treasures—living the life of a pirate. As a young adult, you seek to make these dreams a reality by moving to Sulani and searching every inch of the island for the fortunes you know are hiding beneath the sand or the waves of the ocean. It may not be as easy as you thought (who knew maintaining a boat would take so much work?), but it’s worth it to be able to live your dream. You’ll do whatever it takes to become rich, even if it means robbing the locals of their precious historical artifacts…or, you could take the easy route and marry rich. Actually, why not both? Once you’ve acquired your desired wealth, you can retire early and spend your days fishing instead of plundering. Maybe you’ll even become a lifeguard in your spare time to help others and atone for the deviance of your youth.
Traits: Child of the Ocean/Adventurous/Materialistic
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Career: Diver/Lifeguard
Rules:
Max the handiness and fishing skills
Reach level 3 of the diver career and then quit to join the lifeguard career as an adult or elder
Complete the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration
Move to Sulani as a young adult and live on a pirate ship/houseboat (build one or find one in the gallery!) for the rest of your life
Complete the buried treasure collection
Marry a wealthy Sim (someone with at least 50,000 simoleons)
Generation Five: Summerfest 🎆
Baby, you’re a firework.
You had a strange childhood. You grew up on a boat with a pirate for a parent, after all. Your family life was never that important to you, though. You preferred to spend your time with your friends, playing games as a child and partying as a teenager. As a young adult, you achieve your dream of going to university—not for the education, but for the parties (including the secret ones). Whether or not you graduate is not super important to you. Who needs a degree to become the world’s best mixologist? Once you’ve partied your youth away, maybe you’ll settle down, have a family, and start throwing backyard barbecues for your friends instead of all-night ragers. It doesn’t sound too bad. As long as everyone gives you the credit you deserve as the Supreme Storyteller/Grill Master. Living the dream of the white picket fence and happy family can’t be too hard, right?
Traits: Outgoing/Dance Machine/Loves Outdoors
Aspiration: Party Animal
Career: Culinary (Mixologist)
Rules:
Max the dancing and mixology skills
Reach level 10 of the culinary (mixologist) career and complete the Party Animal aspiration
As a young adult, go to university and join the secret society (it is up to you whether or not you graduate, but you must remain at school for at least two terms)
Earn gold on a keg party
Purchase the Great Storyteller trait and the Stoves and Grills Master trait from the Rewards Store
Marry as an adult and have at least two children with your spouse
Generation Six: Neighborhood Brawl 💥
The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club.
From a young age, you could tell your parents struggled to raise you. You always had too much energy as a kid and could never sit still for more than a few minutes at a time. As a teenager, you found it hard to control your emotions. There was so much anger inside you. You never knew where it came from, but you had to deal with it somehow. Sometimes exercising or playing the guitar helped, but mostly you ended up taking your anger out on others. It was always easy for you to make enemies, so as a young adult, you decide to commit to the life of crime you seem fated to lead. There’s a lot of money in crime at least, right? The anger inside you never goes away, but you find new ways to deal with it—primarily by starting a fight club and beating up other Sims. Playing the guitar still helps sometimes, and carrying it around with you makes for a good conversation starter (or improvisational weapon). Maybe your sweet melodies will be enough to convince someone to marry you…at least for a little while.
Traits: Active/Hot-Headed/Evil
Aspiration: Public Enemy
Career: Criminal
Rules:
Max the fitness and guitar skills
Reach level 10 of the criminal career and complete the Public Enemy aspiration
As a young adult, start a fight club and become enemies with all club members
Get married and divorced within the same week
Become enemies with benefits with another Sim and have at least one child with them
Generation Seven: Spooky Day 🎃
Trick or treat.
Your childhood was very chaotic. Your parent was always starting fights and making enemies of any friends or romantic partners you brought home. After years of dealing with this, you found it easier to just be by yourself most of the time. Instead of seeking advice from friends or family, you turned to the spirits to guide you toward your destiny. You find great joy in dressing up in spooky costumes, conducting seances in your bedroom, and playing the pipe organ for your ghostly friends. Some people—even your children, eventually—might call you creepy, but they just don’t understand. Not everything outside the normal is bad. Some ghosts are good. Even some vampires. You aspire to be one of them someday, using your supernatural powers to fight evil spirits as a ghostbust—I mean, paranormal investigator. Once you find someone who appreciates your love of all things spooky, you will attempt to share this passion with the children you have together. Your children may not be receptive to it, but you love them enough to help them find their own paths in life, even if it means ending your vampiric line with you.
Traits: Gloomy/Geek/Loner
Aspiration: Good Vampire
Career: Freelancer (Paranormal Investigator)
Rules:
Max the medium, vampire lore, and pipe organ skills
Become an expert paranormal investigator and complete the Good Vampire aspiration
Live on a lot with the haunted lot challenge for all of your adult life
Purchase the Brave trait from the Rewards store
Become best friends or romantic partners with Guidry and/or Bonehilda
Have at least two children, including at least one vampire child
Your heir must be born a vampire, but you must help cure them of their vampirism before they move out as a young adult
Generation Eight: Harvestfest 🦃
Let us give thanks.
You grew up in a haunted house with a vampire for a parent, and it turned you off of the supernatural for life. Who wants to deal with ghosts that are constantly invading your privacy and breaking things? At first, you were scared of the ghosts, but then they just became annoying. You have vague memories of wanting to drink blood as a child, but now you’re perfectly normal, and you just want to live a normal life with a normal, happy family. You’ve loved food and cooking from a young age, so your favorite holiday is Harvestfest, of course—you also love the cute, little gnomes and collect as many as you can. For months before the big day, you dream of the amazing feast you’ll prepare for your ever-grateful family members. Most of the time, you actually prefer to have others cook for you (since you are a bit lazy), but on Harvestfest, you always aspire to create the greatest meal ever. You know your kids, in particular, will appreciate your cooking, since you put all your time and effort into raising them right.
Traits: Glutton/Lazy/Foodie
Aspiration: Super Parent
Career: Food Critic
Rules:
Max the gourmet cooking and parenting skills
Reach level 10 of the food critic career and complete the Super Parent aspiration
As an adult, live on a lot with the Gnomes lot trait
Have a small (not necessarily well-maintained, since you are lazy, after all) garden full of gnomes
Earn gold on a dinner party
Have at least one child age into a young adult with all five positive character traits (good manners, emotional control, responsible, compassionate, and mediator)
Generation Nine: Winterfest 🎄
Ho ho ho.
Your parents raised you to be a good person. There’s never been any question in your mind that you want to do something with your life to help others and make the world a better place. From a young age, you’ve tried to do that by giving gifts—especially ones you knit yourself—to others. You also love to brighten your family members’ days with your beautiful voice. As a young adult, you become a charity organizer in order to do good as part of your job. Since you’re such a good person, who could be a better match for you than Father Winter himself? Once you’re married, nothing will be able to stop you from achieving your dreams of creating a better, brighter world, including by giving homes to children and animals who need them.
Traits: Good/Cheerful/Music Lover
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Career: Politician (Charity Organizer)
Max the knitting and singing skills
Reach level 10 of the politician (charity organizer) career and complete the Friend of the World aspiration
Marry Father Winter and have at least one child with him
Move to Kiyomatsu Point in Mt. Komorebi (the uninhabited residential lot in Yukimatsu where there is always snow) and build (or download from the gallery) your North Pole home there
Adopt at least two additional children and at least two pets
Gain a pristine reputation
Earn gold on a charity benefit party
Generation Ten: New Year’s Eve 🎊
New year, new me.
Growing up, you felt like you were constantly in the shadow of your parents. How could anyone compete with two people so…good? You strive to achieve bigger and better things for yourself, but you feel like you always fall short. Each year, you make a resolution that you try your best to keep, but sometimes you stumble. You work hard at your job and side hustle as a yoga instructor—some people might even call you a workaholic—in order to reach your goal of running your own business one day, and you spend your spare time de-stressing with meditation. You struggle to maintain a romantic relationship as a young adult since you spend all your time working and recovering from work, but you’re hopeful that one day you’ll find your soulmate (they might be closer than you think). Regardless, your focus is on yourself first. No matter what obstacles get in your way, nothing will stop you from becoming the best version of yourself you know you can be.
Traits: Self-Assured/Clumsy/Ambitious
Aspiration: Zen Guru
Career: Business (Management)
Max the logic and wellness skills
Reach level 10 of the business (management) career and complete the Zen Guru aspiration
Run a side business as a yoga instructor
Once you reach the top of the business career, start your own business (this can be whatever you want it to be, but something wellness-themed would be on brand for you)
Marry one of your clients/customers as an adult or elder

Sooo...I started my third playthrough of the Not So Berry Challenge
Tumblr media
I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this challenge, but I am. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, I've been posting this playthrough on YouTube. If you're interested in following along with Mintha's journey (and eventually watching me play my extended version of the challenge!), check out the link to my channel on my profile! ♡
Mintha is already almost halfway through her career as a scientist and has a child (who will likely be our heir for the Rose gen). This playthrough has been pretty chaotic so far, but I feel like that's pretty par for the course with a mischievous Mint gen Sim!

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Burgundy gen)
Tumblr media
The final gen of my Not So Berry Extended Challenge!
From a young age, Merlot was obsessed with food, especially grilled cheese. She always dreamed of making the perfect grilled cheese and even became a chef as an adult to perfect her craft. Once she was old enough, she and her twin sister Syrah moved into a converted warehouse in Newcrest together and focused on their careers (Merlot as chef and her sister as a teacher). They both struggled with their love lives, as Merlot was entirely focused on her mission of perfecting the grilled cheese, and Syrah was unflirty by nature.
Tumblr media
As teens, they had both developed crushes on the same boy before realizing they were actually related to him. As young adults, they didn’t fare much better. Merlot eventually discovered a love of rocket science at Geekcon and decided to build her own rocketship. She had heard family stories passed through the generations of an alien planet called Sixam and became determined to travel there. Once she reached it, she fell in love with one of the locals, and the two eloped there.
Tumblr media
They moved into Merlot’s home in Newcrest and had a half-alien child together. In the meantime, Syrah had her own alien encounter and became pregnant with alien twins after being abducted. Once her twins were born, Merlot and her husband decided to move into their own place (next door to Syrah, since the sisters never wanted to be too far apart). Merlot focused on her job as a chef (and making grilled cheeses) and eventually reached the top of her career. Having perfected the grilled cheese, she decided to open her own restaurant to share her cooking with the world.

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Lilac gen)
Tumblr media
My lilac gen was Helio (named after a color similar to the flower). He was raised in the snowy mountains of Mt. Komorebi with his sister and twin brother, but he always dreamed of moving somewhere warm. He convinced his parents to build a greenhouse for him so he could start a garden as a teen despite the freezing temperatures, since he always loved flowers. As a young adult, he moved to a beautiful house in Brindleton Bay where he could grow a magnificent garden and raise a family (and have many cats). He fell in love with one of his neighbors there (a trans (ftm) Sim named Ezequiel) but discovered he was married to the world famous Regina Berry (my gold gen/gen 15!). Regina soon grew bored of him, though, and Helio helped him process the divorce as a friend. The two ultimately ended up falling in love, however. They got married and had twin girls together shortly thereafter. After Ezequiel’s elderly parents passed, they also ended up helping to raise his teen sister. Despite Ezequiel’s initial heartbreak, he remained on somewhat friendly terms with Regina and had her over to the house occasionally. Helio was never a fan of this relationship, and when he caught Ezequiel flirting with Regina, he was furious. He got into a fight with Regina (despite being proper), and the two became enemies. Helio gifted Ezequiel with a flower arrangement scented with tulip so that his husband would remain faithful to him from then on. He also gifted Regina with a flower arrangement scented with death flower, which forced her to become an adult and thus fulfill her worst nightmare (getting older).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once this drama was behind them, the two were able to focus on raising their daughters (and many cats) together.

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (White gen)
Tumblr media
My white gen was Crystal. Although she was raised in a home with a distinct lack of privacy, she loved her family and the camping trips they took to Granite Falls together (especially in the winter). As a young adult, she longed to move to Mt. Komorebi to pursue her dream hobbies of snowboarding and rock climbing, but she also wanted to eventually provide a bigger home (with more personal space) for her future family, so she settled on a more “stable” job as a secret agent in San Myshuno, even though she hated the paperwork aspect of it. She started dating one of her new neighbors and quickly moved in with him, but he ended up cheating on her and impregnating their (vampire) neighbor. Crystal dumped him and begged her boss to let her transfer to Mt. Komorebi. Thankfully, he said yes, and she was able to move into a shared home there with one of her new coworkers.
Tumblr media
After making friends with some of the locals, one of Crystal’s snow bros introduced her to his son, and the two of them hit it off. They got married within three days of meeting each other and soon started a family (they ended up having a girl and twin boys). Still, they made time to snowboard and rock climb together, and, with each other's support, they eventually climbed to the top of Mt. Komorebi, where they eloped.
Tumblr media
They then proceeded to WooHoo in a cave to celebrate (of course).

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Brown gen)
Tumblr media
My brown gen was Clove. She grew up in an unusual situation, but she never minded having a big (and somewhat odd) family. Although she loved being connected to nature from a young age, she was never fond of the beach. She found the sand to be coarse and rough and irritating, and it got everywhere. Instead, she preferred the forest and loved camping in Granite Falls with her mom. As soon as she was old enough, she moved to a tiny home near a waterfall in the woods of Henford-on-Bagley. She loved the serenity she found there, just her and her dog. She didn’t even mind living off the grid, although it was a bit annoying to have to travel into town any time she wanted to have access to the Internet to find an odd job or two. On one of these trips into town, she started chatting with the local pub owner, and the two fell in love. They eventually held their wedding at the same pub and consummated the marriage with a celebratory WooHoo in the dumpster behind the building.
Tumblr media
Clove and her husband had three children together, which made things even tighter in their already tiny living space. Still, they were able to live a happy life together with their family (and the many stray dogs that hung out on the lot).

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Aquamarine gen)
Tumblr media
My aquamarine gen was Beryl (yes, Beryl Berry). She never liked living in Del Sol Valley and was always begging her mom to take her and her brother to Sulani (although it only worked once, since vampires and sunny beaches don’t mix well). Once she became a young adult, Beryl fulfilled her dream of moving to the seaside and joined the conservationist career to help restore the island’s beauty. She spent a lot of time exploring the caves of Sulani and digging for trash and sea shells on the beach. In the process, she eventually found a piece of mermadic kelp and ate it, following the ocean’s call to become a mermaid. She became enemies with a local litterbug and used her newfound powers to torment him by pulling him under the water time and time again (although she was never able to drown him). Beryl eventually started dating a man local to Sulani, but even though he was her boyfriend, he ended up marrying someone else. Beryl thought his new wife was cute, though, so she invited both of them to live with her, and they ended up becoming a throuple. The three of them started a free-love beach commune and raised their children together (Beryl had three children, and her girlfriend had one).

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Gold gen)
Tumblr media
The next gen in my NSBE challenge was the gold gen. I'm not a huge fan of vampires, but I had a lot of fun with this gen, and I do appreciate that she never had to die (I'm always super sad about losing my heirs).
From a young age, Regina dreamed of being famous and ardently pursued this goal, joining drama club as a child and even leaving her family home as a teenager to move to Del Sol Valley (with her dad’s Servo to help supervise her). As a teen, she started uploading videos to SimTube and Simstagramming/streaming her life for her fans to see. She tried everything to become a celebrity, including creating her own music and DJing on weekends. Once she started to gain fame, she married an actor more famous than her for the clout, but ended up divorcing him when she fell in love with one of her fans (who was also the bartender at her wedding). Regina reached her goal of becoming a celebrity and respected style influencer, but she started to fear aging. In a desperate attempt to stop the aging process, she begged Vlad to turn her into a vampire so she would be able to stay young and beautiful forever. He obliged, and Regina was able to become a top-level style influencer and award-winning, five-star celebrity who would never age. Before becoming a vampire, she had two human children with her fan and lover, but she also ended up cheating on him later in life and having a vampire child with Vlad.

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Silver gen)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next gen in my NSBE Challenge was the Silver gen. I put both of the potential heirs for this gen through university because I couldn't choose between them for the longest time, but I ended up going with my male heir for some variety.
Sterling had a hard childhood living in a home with his mean mother, but he found solace in his sister’s company and in the robots he started building as a teenager. As young adults, he and his older sister both attended Foxbury Institute and joined the Bot Savants (like their yellow-gen ancestor). Sterling had a major glow up and thrived at university, earning straight A’s and even coming far enough out of his shell to start dating a girl from his high school robotics club who he had always had a crush on. While his sister had a baby after an unplanned pregnancy with her boyfriend during her last term of university, Sterling waited a while to marry his girlfriend and start having children. Eventually, he and his wife had two children together, but he also passionately pursued his love of engineering, robotics, and fabrication with the help of his club friends. He even built his own Servo, who served as his live-in housekeeper, nanny, and friend. The Servo eventually ended up falling in love with yellow gen’s Servo (yay for robot love).

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Black gen)
Tumblr media
Next up is my black gen. I usually hate playing mean Sims, but I loved the chaos in this gen.
From a young age, Raven (pictured above on the right) was rebellious and was always causing trouble (including by constantly stealing things at school). She struggled to make friends naturally since she was mean, but in high school, she was able to intimidate her classmates (and her twin sister Phoebe) into being friends with her. Raven bullied one of her “friends” into being her boyfriend, and they had an on-again-off-again relationship. As a young adult, Raven moved to Forgotten Hollow and joined the law career. She used her smarts to become a lawyer without going to university and eventually rose to the top of her career as a judge. Shortly after moving to Forgotten Hollow, Raven developed a crush on one of her neighbors, but Phoebe married him before Raven could claim him as her own. Raven cut her sister off as a result and ended up marrying the first girlfriend she could find after that in an attempt to prove she was more successful than her sister. Although Raven had strong romantic feelings for her new wife, they ended up getting into a major fight on the night of their wedding, and Raven locked her outside the house to punish her. Of course, it was the middle of winter, so her wife ended up freezing to death and then haunting Raven for the rest of her life. Raven didn’t mourn for long before deciding to steal her sister’s husband, even though Phoebe had a child with him. Raven ended up marrying him and having two children with him, then cheating on him with her high school boyfriend (who became her enemy with benefits) and having a third child from the affair. She also became enemies with benefits with Father Winter since she found him extremely attractive but hated how good he was. None of Raven’s children liked her since she was so mean to them and was often drunk from her juice-fizzing (which only exacerbated her meanness). Still, her husband stayed with her through everything, and Raven and her sister even reconciled and became friends in the end (because Phoebe was far too nice).

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Rainbow gen)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second gen in my NSBE Challenge was the rainbow gen. I had a lot of fun dressing this girl. Here are some of the highlights of this gen!
As a child, Spectra yearned for her mother’s affection, but she never received it. Eventually, she became best friends with her nanny instead. She spent her childhood reading about and drawing magical worlds, playing her violin, and telling jokes to her nanny. As a teenager, she fell in love with painting and decided to live in San Myshuno as a young adult to pursue it as a career. In the city, she moved in with her high school boyfriend, Orange Bailey-Moon, and they ended up having twin girls together. Spectra soon grew tired of city life, though, and she also realized she and Orange were better off as friends. True to her erratic nature, she made the impulsive decision to move to the country (Henford-on-Bagley) with her childhood best friend (a woman), and they eventually fell in love and raised Spectra’s daughters together (and later adopted a child of their own).

Playing my Not So Berry Extended Challenge (Beige gen)
Tumblr media
Now that I've finished posting about my first and second playthroughs of the original Not So Berry Challenge, I thought it would be fun to share some of the highlights from my playthrough of my own version of the Not So Berry Extended Challenge, which adds another 10 generations! If you're interested in the rules, here is the post about it:
My beige gen was Fawn (pictured above contemplating crushing her toddler's dreams, although she never did). Even as a child, she didn’t like other children very much. As a teenager, she felt parentified by her parents, since they expected her to help out with her younger siblings as the oldest child. She resented them for this and grew to hate children even more as a result. She vowed that she would never be a parent...but life doesn’t always go as planned. As a young adult, she moved to Mt. Komorebi to get as far away from her family as possible. She joined the salaryperson career and threw herself into her work, soon becoming a workaholic. In the little free time she had, she made a karaoke club and threw weekly parties for her fellow club members. She ended up falling for and marrying one of them. Although Fawn never wanted a child, her new husband did, and he convinced her to have one with him. Soon after Fawn gave birth, however, her husband’s eyes strayed to another man at Fawn’s kava party, and he decided to leave her for him and move to Sulani, leaving her to take care of their child by herself. Fawn was devastated and threw herself into her work even more, hiring a full-time nanny to care for her daughter so she could ignore her parental responsibilities. Fawn eventually fell for another one of her club members, but she never married him and never had any more children (once bitten, twice shy).

My second playthrough of the Not So Berry Challenge (Blue)
Tumblr media
My blue gen was Navy. He grew up dreaming of having a big, happy family. At a young age, he married one of his best friends from high school, and they had five children (including one adopted child) together. They also adopted his little sister after his parents died. Navy and his wife were happy together for the most part, but they struggled at times, feeling overwhelmed by work and the amount of children they had. During one of their rough periods, Navy got drunk and made the stupid decision to hook up with his wife’s sister, who he had had a small crush on in high school. They swore to each other to never tell Navy’s wife. After this, he threw himself into raising his children and trying to be the best dad and husband he could be in an attempt to atone for his mistake.

My second playthrough of the Not So Berry Challenge (Green)
Tumblr media
My green gen was Ivy. From a young age, she used her computer skills to get what she wanted, including by hacking to make money and improve her grades. As a young adult, she attended the University of Britechester (mostly for the parties) but ended up dropping out after one term since she knew she didn’t need a degree to succeed. She was recruited by a tech company and eventually reached the top of her career while also continuing to hack and make apps and video games on the side. She ended up moving to San Myshuno and living with and having twin boys with her high school boyfriend. She was happy never getting married, and he eventually (and reluctantly) agreed to an open relationship when she suggested it. After having a fling with one of her mixology/romance club friends, Ivy became pregnant and had another son. Her boyfriend raised the kid as his own, although he was never entirely happy about it. Ivy and her boyfriend remained together through the rest of their lives and had a daughter right before they became elders.

My second playthrough of the Not So Berry Challenge (Peach)
Tumblr media
My peach gen was August (named after a variety of peach). He was a goofball who dreamed of becoming both a detective and a comedian. As a young adult, he moved to Windenburg and began working as a police officer while pursuing comedy on the side. August seemed to find almost every woman he encountered extremely attractive, including several of his coworkers (this actually happened thanks to the Wonderful Whims mod). He developed serious crushes on multiple women, including one of his coworkers, one of his childhood friends, and one of his new neighbors. He ended up having children with the last two at the same time, so his children were raised like twins, although they had different mothers. Regardless, August eventually ended up marrying his coworker and moving to Sulani with her and his children after he retired from being the Chief of Police to pursue his dream of being a standup comedian full time. In their new home by the ocean, they had a child and raised their very mixed family together.

My second playthrough of the Not So Berry Challenge (Pink)
Tumblr media
My pink gen was Fuchsia. As children, she and her twin sister Taffy dreamed of leaving their criminal parents and living together on their own, but as teenagers, Taffy became enticed by her mother’s newfound wealth and decided to remain with her parents once she became a young adult. Fuchsia, on the other hand, got out as soon as she could and moved to a quaint, manufactured home in Willow Springs. There, she worked in the business career to pay her bills, but on the side, she pursued her passion of writing romance novels, although she never published any of them as a young adult. While she initially developed a crush on one of her high school friends, she ended up falling in love with and marrying one of her neighbors in Willow Springs. As a gardener and flower arranger, he helped her maintain a beautiful garden in their backyard. Together they raised two children and lived a life worthy of one of Fuchsia’s romance novels. As an adult, Fuchsia quit her job and started writing full time, finally publishing the books she wrote when she was younger. She also wrote a popular series about the romantic trials and tribulations of her ancestors.

My second playthrough of the Not So Berry Challenge (Orange)
Tumblr media
My orange gen was Amber. From a young age, she had an easy time making enemies. She never cared much about school but took great pleasure in baking and eating the sweets she made. As a young adult, she felt suffocated by her family and moved to San Myshuno to get away from them. She struggled to pay rent for her crummy apartment, but things got a little easier when her childhood best friend moved in with her…until they had twins. The two of them committed themselves to a life of crime in an attempt to make more money, but they still never had enough. Amber always dreamed of owning a house, so when she became an adult, she decided to (temporarily) move in with the ghost of her great-great-great-grandfather (who inherited his daughter’s lottery winnings) in the hope of convincing him to give her the money to buy her dream home. Unfortunately, he was unconvinced by her pleas, so Amber decided to steal the money from him (she was a criminal, after all) and move her family to their brand-new home in Oasis Springs. Once she reached the top of the criminal career, Amber quit her job to focus on baking and living a life of luxury.
