Graveyard etiquette from a cranky traditional witch:
-Leave shit at the gate (coins, cigarettes, eggs, flowers)
-If alone go in silence, if with others speak in a hushed tone
-Wear a hat or head covering to prevent possession or bringing home unwanted spirits.
-Bring bells and/or rattles to wake the dead if desired
-Smoking in the graveyard or carrying a flame is an easy way to get the attention of the dead at night.
-Bring a knife or object made of iron should things get hairy (always bring a knife). Canes are also excellent tools for working with the dead
-have a way of gathering occult materia without being noticed by people or spirits (invisibility charms work best)
-If you're bringing spirits home with you (intentionally), don't turn around until you're across the threshold of your home
-Upon leaving the cemetery, say a prayer for the dead and wild things that inhabitant there
-When home, spread white powder (flower, salt, ect...) at the door to keep unwanted spirits out. A colander over a key hole works too.

Reblogging from my main ^^
From my very limited research, I have noticed that King Haides doesn't really have a day of the week associated with Him or any celebrations/festivals. Now, this is probably due to his main associations with the dead, funeral related activities, and wealth.
He was mostly feared, which makes sense but also doesn't. I don't think that we should fear death or dying. It is human to feel worrisome of death, but I don't think that we should be afraid of it.
Celebrating death and the dead should be something we partake in. It's what happens to us when we meet our eventual expiration date. Celebrating death and the dead should be a way of coming to terms and praising the hardships of going through that process. To honor the dead, to honor the deities that help with this transition, to honor the spirits of our loved ones who stay with us and watch over us.
Now, of course, I don't mean we only recognize King Haides in the possible celebration/festival*. But include those that also come to mind when we think about this topic. Lord Thanatos, Lord Kharon, Lord Hermes, and Lady Hecate come to my mind of deities. I'm not too well verse in the associations of the gods, but I have a bit of knowledge, I guess.
If you have comments or are willing to maybe worship this idea, I'm completely open to hearing it!
(* I don't know if these would be correct words to use for this type of "celebration" but to me it seems fitting???)

This is so comforting and beautiful
I'd like to think that when we die, we never die alone. I believe that Thanatos waits beside us, there to hold our hand as our souls leave our bodies. I believe that Hermes takes our other hand, guiding us from this life to the next. I believe that Charon sits us down on his boat, transitioning fully from the world of the living to that of the dead. I believe that when we enter through Haides' gates, even then, we are not alone as we're accompanied with other souls - maybe some people we know, and others we don't. And when I take my rest in the Fields of Asphodel, there'll be other content souls, resting amongst the flowers beside me as we spend our afterlives in peace within King Haides' beautiful kingdom.

Drawing tarot cards and having Lord Haides pull a card that is literally just:
"Stop worrying about things that you can not control, or you risk manifesting those negative thoughts."
Like—kindly excuse me, but I did not I do need that call out. I have been trying to apply this recently, and it's kind of working huh

offering post for King Hades.
Orphic Hymn To Hades
Orphic Hymn 18 to Pluton (trans. Taylor) (Greek hymns C3rd B.C. to 2nd A.D.):
“To Plouton (Pluto) [Haides]. Plouton, magnanimous, whose realms profound are fixed beneath the firm and solid ground, in the Tartarean plains remote from sight, and wrapt for ever in the depths of night. Zeus Khthonios (of the Underworld), thy sacred ear incline, and pleased accept these sacred rites divine. Earth’s keys to thee, illustrious king, belong, its secret gates unlocking, deep and strong. ‘Tis thine abundant annual fruits to bear, for needy mortals are thy constant care. To thee, great king, all sovereign earth assigned, the seat of gods and basis of mankind. Thy throne is fixed in Haides’ dismal plains, distant, unknown to the rest, where darkness reigns; where, destitute of breath, pale spectres dwell, in endless, dire, inexorable hell; and in dread Akheron (Acheron), whose depths obscure, earth’s stable roots eternally secure. O mighty Daimon, whose decision dread, the future fate determines of the dead, with Demeter’s girl [Persephone] captive, through grassy plains, drawn in a four-yoked car with loosened reins, rapt over the deep, impelled by love, you flew till Eleusinia’s city rose to view: there, in a wondrous cave obscure and deep, the sacred maid secure from search you keep, the cave of Atthis, whose wide gates display an entrance to the kingdoms void of day. Of works unseen and seen thy power alone to be the great dispending source is known. All-ruling, holy God, with glory bright, thee sacred poets and their hymns delight, propitious to thy mystics’ works incline, rejoicing come, for holy rites are thine.”

Channeled message from King Hades 🐕:
Stop telling everyone everything. There’s a difference in giving good news and never keeping anything to yourself. The world doesn’t have to know everything about you. Learn to keep things close to your chest and share when only absolutely necessary. Having secrets isn’t a bad thing. Give yourself a sense of mystery and watch success come your way 🔒

I attempted to write a prayer to Lord Haides last night. It's the first one I've ever written. I tried to use epithets that match the energy of the prayer. It's a prayer of praise ^^
I prayed this morning using the prayer, and it felt interesting. The energy was immediately different as I spoke.

I picked up a small table today that I'm going to use as an altar for Lord Haides. It's really nice, has a bit of wear from the previous owners (up-cycled from Facebook marketplace), but I'm confident that it's perfect. There's not much energy to it, so it will be easy to cleanse and consecrate. I'm really excited to finally devote a space only* to Lord Haides.
*: I've had to share spaces in the past, and I don't really like doing that :<

Never have I been so comforted in the hands of a man attributed to death. Tall and covered in black robes with a serious gaze, and yet, he never looked to me with anger. His eyes were dark without shine but I had not felt judged before him. He led me through the misty gardens. He led me up the dark stairs. He brought me before his ethereal wife of fair skin and light hair. Graced by the presence of the two, I was honored. And when I seek to return, he does not turn me away. When I return to his arms, seeking for tears to fall away, he has never denied me. With patience and grace, he finds me between his hands and assures me that I am loved as I am. How could I see him as harsh and cruel when he gives me peace just as he will again when he guides me in death? We share no blood and yet, he holds me as if I am one of his own. Crying to him like a lost child, he hushes me as he brushes away tears. In death, Hades will guide me just as now to ease my anxious heart into rest. Thank you, Soter. How you save me time and time again.
