Our Changes!

Our Mission Statement:  

Our goal is to make education free and accessible to everyone who has a desire to learn. We want to encourage learning and creativity and show you how it’s a natural part of life and not just something we’re forced to do in situations that make many of us anxious or nervous, it is something that can be done comfortably and freely. Given the increasing popularity of the online world, why not benefit from it to the highest degree possible? We want to try to provide a roster with many varied courses so that there’s something for every individual. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and share their knowledge with others. 

How we will operate: 

Because we believe in learning and sharing knowledge being comfy and on your terms, we have several methods.

1- The Courses Method.

The first method, it is in the structure of courses. As the person wanting to share your knowledge, if you choose the courses method then you will become an official mentor. You will determine when your course begins and how long it will run for based on your subject matter and the level of depth you intend to go into. As a learner, if you choose this method then you will have to enroll by filling out an application. To put it simply, with this method. Things are more structured and official and we will do our best to hold both mentors and students accountable for doing their parts. This method also may include certificates for certain courses, if a course comes with a certificate we will let you know. 2- The Request Method.

In the second method, we will have a discord server that is more generalized and casual than the discord server for the courses method. The request method will be when the discord server will have a role for every possible subject matter. I’ll explain this easier with an example: Say I need help with Microsoft Word, in that case I just go to the request channel and I will @mention the Microsoft Word role, and all those who have the role due to being knowledgable in Microsoft Word will get notified and then can assist me. It’s less structured and more general than the courses method. 

3- The Sharing Method.

In the final method, we will essentially have a discord server that will serve as a library, if you write a paper on something that is accurate and fact-checked or you have other resources that you’re allowed to share then it can be posted in the library to be used as a source of knowledge for others to use when trying to learn more about the topic. 

You can use any or all methods concurrently and each method comes with its own rules and requirements to guarantee everyone’s comfort and security.

Departments & Courses

We would like to give you a few ideas of courses that you can teach. If there is anything that you would like to teach that is not on this list, feel free to either send us a DM here or email us at hallsofviden@gmail.com 

Department of Arts. This department can offer courses in Crafting, Crocheting, Drawing, Knitting, Playing instruments, Pottery, or even Writing stories and what that entails.

Department of Astronomy and Space. Here we may be able to offer courses in Aeronautics, Astrology, as well as Astronomy for those who would like to learn more about the astral bodies and the secrets of outer space.

Department of Behaviour. This department is all about humans and how they work. This is why we wish to offer a variety of courses including Philosophical Questions, Psychological Questions, Religion, as well as Sociology.

Department of Business. Ever wondered how much work goes into being an entrepreneur? Well, in the Business Department we would love to give an answer to that. Here you could teach classes of Communication, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Law, as well as Media.

Department of Environmental Studies. Here at the Environmental Department, we care about nature and the environment and this is why you can educate people in courses about Gardening, Geography, Oceanography, Botany, and the Weather.

Department of Gaming. Are you a gamer and want to share some of your knowledge in the art of gaming with other gamers? Maybe you know some secret Minecraft crafting recipes or have some fun Sims 4 mods to share? Join us and share your knowledge with other people.

Department of History. Here you could educate our students on different historical topics and these can be about anything at all.

Department of Learning. How can you be an efficient student? How do you give a good presentation? These questions and a few more can and will be answered here. You could offer courses on How to give a presentation, What good note-taking looks like, Things to think about when it comes to group projects, How to listen effectively, as well as the best ways to do Research.

Department of Life. Everyone has a life, right? Would you like to help with some tricks for managing your life? can you give courses in Good ways of Job hunting, Money management, Time management, Self-care, Using a planner or agenda, as well as how to cook good, nutritious food even when down on cash? Then this is the department for your courses! 

Department of Linguistics. Ever wanted to teach people your native language? Are you great at writing formal school papers like essays, argumentative paper and so on? Come and guide people on how to write academic papers as well as learn languages.

Department of Occult Matters. Are you well versed in energy work, tarot, death magic or any other field of witchcraft? Then this is your department.

Department of Sciences. Are you great at science subjects? Are you good at certain topics in mathematics? How about you join us at Viden and share your knowledge with other people. Examples here on what you could teach are Biology, Chemistry, Physics as well as Math.

Department of Technology If you are knowledgeable in anything technological and want to teach other people, then this is a good place to be. Here you can teach people how to use certain apps, eg Word, Excel or websites like Tumblr or Instagram. You can also teach people about certain software as well as hardware.

What you decide to teach is up to you, and we will do our very best to make sharing your knowledge as easy and simple as possible both for you and your students. Note: These subjects are just suggestions, if there is any other subject that you would like to teach then you may do so

Hi is this active?

Hello, Rowan here! Myself and especially Merah haven't had a lot of time to devote to this project. However, I do have some courses completed that I can offer. If you're interested in any of these below, you can DM us and I can begin mentoring you whenever you feel ready to suit your own schedule and life. I still have many other courses that I stopped working on for a while but would love to get back into soon. When those are ready, I will make it known here too.

UPDATE!

Halls of Viden is going from an all occult place of learning to an all things place of learning! 

We are now planning on teaching everything, just to name a few: Occult topics - Arts of all kinds - Life skills - Learning skills - How to use specific apps or programs - The sciences

We are searching for: 

Faculty! As a faculty member a few of your responsibilities will include:

Keep track of records.

Monitor respective chats.

Make sure the rules are being followed.

Become a Mentor’s assistant.

Mentors! If you feel well versed in ANY topic that you are willing to share then you can become a mentor. Although you must be 18+ to mentor. If you are interested in joining our team please email us at hallsofviden@gmail.com or shoot us a DM.
