I can understand why Tim thinks he’s right in keeping Lucy in the dark. Why he thinks it’s protecting her. He loves her, she’s his life — his future. Of course he doesn’t want to compromise her job, or her life for something he did in his past.
But at the same time, this need he has to be her “fierce protector” is only coming to kill them in the long run if he keeps her in the dark.
He needs to make her his partner. It needs to be them vs the problem, not Tim vs the problem and Lucy vs Tim and his problem.
He’s so so good at supporting lucy but so very bad at accepting the support back — from not just her but everyone
And I think this plot line is finally going to fix one of their major issues as a couple. I don’t think it will break them completely. But open Tim’s eyes to his “martyrdom” and the way he still keeps his walls up with people who shouldn’t.
When Tim got the call about Lucy being in the hospital, he made sure to get her bag from the station. Taking care of her needs, but ignoring most of his own needs such as changing out of uniform even though he was already at the station. Because his only need in that moment was to see for himself that Lucy was unharmed.
