Finished embroidering The Raft of the Medusa finally! And a bunch of other hoops! Sorry I'm so inconsistent on here, but I'm so grateful for all the love my The Sin embroidery has got 🖤

Never posted on tumblr before. Thought I'd give it a try. This is a painting I did recently for my mum.

while I was resting, I learned how to make kippah (:

I definitely would make a pride one for myself, I just need to choose which one it'll be

I looooove making mini quilts!
Quick to make,
Instant gratification,
Learn new things,
Use less material,
Excellent way to use scraps,
And it's fun.

I might rebrand tbh. Handmade Hearts isn't very accurate to what I do, and also. it occurred to me literally last night that I maybe don't want my initials to be HH actually.

Just for the heck of it, I put a small radish into my smoothie today. It's good!
The blanket continues to grow.

Tbh I wish I could find people who'd pay me to make them blankets like this but it would have to cost them upwards of 5,000€ and no one who respects me enough to pay that would be able to afford it.

It would be so good though. So good.
A girl can dream.

Newbie ceramic question! If a bone-dry greenware piece got chipped prior bisque fire, and it was already painted w underglaze, would it be possible to attach new clay to the area and then paint over? My studio mates are saying you can’t add clay to something that’s already bone dry :(

you can attach clay to bone dry pottery!
it’s not guaranteed to work, but if you use paper clay, especially if it has vinegar in it, it is possible

this is my best photo example of it, this little dude’s tail broke off and I reattached it when he was bone dry

the patch is a little ugly, but with underglaze it’s not that noticeable. and the little chunk you lost on your piece should be fairly easily replaced, since it’ll sit on top and doesn’t have to hold two things together.
I’d score the clay a little, use a bit of vinegar to prep the spot, then add the paper clay. I usually try to get some of the moisture out of the paper clay first, so it’s closer to the same level of dryness as the piece
