Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good Father’s Day! I wanted to share this sunset shot of the Grand Canyon with you. The haze and dust being kicked up by the wind was a challenge, so I underexposed to catch the orb of the sun and the gradient of lighting between the closest ridges and the furthest away. Happy Monday!!! It has been a fun week for me! Got to go shooting all day yesterday including a “Save the Date” shoot! Knocked out a bunch of orders and now I want to share this shot of the Grand Canyon with you! I spent hours there, moving from spot to spot. Happy Monday! Today is a day to remember those who have fallen in service of this great country. However you need to do it, do it the best way to honor them properly. I hope you all have a safe Monday. I spent this last weekend in L.A. and San Diego, just shooting anything that looked good. This location was one that I found that I REALLY wanted to get, and we found it!!! I stood there for over 3 hours waiting for the lighting to be just right, taking pictures for other people of themselves and even an adorable little doggo! (Ask me and I’ll show you!) I just returned from my first mainland photography shoot, where I took my clients to Zion and Grand Canyon. Happy Monday! I apologize for the last few weeks, I have had some personal stuff to deal with, but we should be back on track now! I wanted to share this shot with you all of the Deschutes River near Bend Oregon. I wanted to shoot this river from the moment I saw a painting in my buddies house, so I set out on the adventure. I drove and wondered for about an hour before finding a nice angle for this section. A few locals walked by and said “follow us” and I figure I am too big to be kidnapped so I did. They took me down to the river and just stood there appreciating the view and the sound. I took this with a longer exposure to smooth the water but there is not edit to the color of the water, it was that beautiful shade of green. I hope you all enjoy and I will see you next week! Happy Monday!!! The drive over the pass in the way to Oregon was a slow one due to the weather. The whole ridge line was covered in snow, mist, and trees enjoying the little bit of warmth from the sun. After crossing the road I already had a frame that I in my mind of how I wanted it set up. As soon as I took the whole view in, there is a larger panorama I took as well, I couldn’t help but just stare. Every time I find a place like this, one that makes me stop and really take it in, it reminds me why I do what I do. Why I wanted to start my own business. Happy Monday!!! My first edit from my trip to Bend, Oregon. I went up to dog and house sit for a friend of mine so that he could take a much needed vacation. He gave me a list of some awesome places to take photos of. So with that knowledge and with some help from the local population I was lead to this magical spot, at Smith Rock. Margo, your son Cody introduced me to Trevor, a local photographer and just all around good people. We met up, talked story and took a ton of photos. I took about a hundred or so photos here, changing my bracket values, focus points, and shutter speeds until I found a good blend of lighting to make the image you see here. Happy Monday!!! A little different today than my normal landscapes! I was in Bend Oregon the last few days getting reacquainted with the west coast. I gotta tell you...I missed it. I loved everything about Hawaii but there are so many things here I was an able to shoot when I was younger, that I can now. As I drove through the Nevada California border I saw this mating pair of Bald Eagles, and was able to grab a shot of this one flying back after looking for field mice. I have been going to barrel races, making new friends, seeing old ones, making new clients and coming up with new ideas to share with all of you. I really can't explain to you all how much it means to me that you are following me along for this journey. I really hit the ground running and I am loving every second of it. The image I am sharing today is of a beautiful Sakura tree I was told about in Hawai'i. There are not many of them and it is one of my favorite trees in the world. I got a text saying that it is blooming and I put my lunch away and ran out of my house to go and get it. If you know where this is, then you know it is a hidden secret in plain site! As I was setting up and taking pictures, people would stop walking and look up at the tree, that they walk by every day, and shoot my angle. They would look at their phone afterwards, smile a bit and look at me and nod, thanking me for showing them the angle. I have lived in Hawai’i for ten years, so being around 7k feet at 25 degrees is two things I have not been at in a decade. But. So, so worth it. Happy Monday / President’s Day! A My first Monday of being fully settled in back home in Nevada I captured this image in Virginia City, Nevada, and it is a shot I have wanted since I was very young. I went to this church for years with my parents growing up, we would go to mass, then walk the Main Street of “VC” and get a hot dog and sarsaparilla. It was something I looked forward too always, I love that old town, the boardwalk sidewalks, old rock and leather shops, truly historic. But this church, always sat there quietly in the middle of town, just a silent monument of architectural achievement.
