Aang dies with the Airnomads

Sozin starts raiding the North and South pole, kidnapping every baby born around the day of the Avatar's death. He realises killing them would mean he has to continue hunting down new born Avatars all the time, so he abducts them and raises them in strict supervision, hoping one of them will turn out to be the Avatar.

Years go by and none of the kids display any bending ability other than waterbending. Sozin grows more impatient and infuriated by the day, but the Fire Sages assure him the Air Avatar has died and the Water Avatar is very much alive.

Meanwhile deep inside the Foggy Swamp, a young girl from a native Swamp tribe accidentally wanders off from her family. She feels the vines are calling her and she follows them deep inside the heart of the Swamp, right to the big tree in the middle.

As she hears the tree calling her name, she slowly puts her hand on the roots. Suddenly hundreds of images flash before her eyes, memories from past lives and visions of the future. She sees herself bending earth, fire and air, she sees the world and the four nations in imbalance, she sees the pain and despair in her sister tribes, the ruthless genocide of the Air Nomads and realises she is meant to restore balance to the world.. She is.. the Avatar.
