Hasbro PR rep confirms TYT ending

In an email to the Twitter user My Little Pony Facts (@MLPonyFacts) on September 17, a Hasbro PR representative confirmed that My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale is ending, and the final episode will be released on October 17.

We have independently verified that this email is real; see below for details.

This means that the only two remaining episodes will be episodes 22 and 23, to be released on October 3 and October 17 respectively. This matches the most pessimistic estimate that we could previously make.

Following two seasons of exciting, slice of life content, My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale is drawing to a close. My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale has entertained fans around the world with magical adventures, while delivering positive messages about the value of diversity, inclusion, and friendship. As the series wraps up, our fans can continue to enjoy My Little Pony through innovative toys, games, and licensed consumer products that create joy and community for fans of all ages. This isn’t the end of the journey for My Little Pony – stay tuned for more magical adventures to come. The series will remain available for audiences worldwide, with both seasons available on the My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale YouTube channel and series 1 currently streaming on Netflix. New episodes of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale will air bi-weekly until October 17, 2024.

Separately, Hasbro has confirmed that a "total brand evolution" will come in 2026, and that MLP licensing through 2025 will be focused on retro/nostalgia.

Currently, we don't know of any G5 content that will be released after My Little Pony: The Storm of Zephyr Heights issue 3, which will be published on November 20, 2024. However, IDW freelance artist Natalie Haines has said that there are still more G5 comics in the works.

Verification of the email

While My Little Pony Facts posted screenshots of the email on Twitter on September 18, we decided to wait until we could independently verify the information before making this post. Thanks to their cooperation, we have been able to do that.

Most modern emails contain a DKIM cryptographic signature; only the email domain's server can generate the signature, but the recipient can verify it using the server's public key.

Since My Little Pony Facts sent us the original email file that they received, we were able to independently verify the DKIM signature. This means that the email was sent to them from a hasbro.com user, and that the contents were not tampered with. We used the Python package dkimpy to check this.

We also separately emailed Hasbro about this topic on September 19. This post will be updated if we receive a response from Hasbro.

That moment when you realize... some of the Looney Tunes represent the Seven Deadly Sins. Here is my interpretation of this revelation. This is how I see them so it may not reflect your thoughts.

Bugs Bunny = Pride: Of course he best represents Pride. He's usually nonchalant and gets back at his foes with ease. And he's got a bit of an ego (especially with Cecil Turtle to whom he keeps losing to) and the main star of the franchise.

Daffy Duck = Greed: Ever since he co-starred with Bugs, Daffy has been more into money and treasure and will not hesitate to become rich and famous as his rabbit adversary.

Pepe Le Pew = Lust: A lonely French skunk out in the world looking for a lover, and he usually gets all flustered and romantically obsessed with what he thinks is a female skunk, but isn't. Never-the-less, he still persues them. (And he got "cancelled" over this? Geez.)

Wile E. Coyote = Envy: Wile E. is always desperate to catch the Road Runner no matter the cost. Even when the ACME products he gets delivered to fail on him, he never gives up on trying to snatch the speedy desert bird. Even when he goes up against Bugs on some occassions.

Foghorn Leghorn = Sloth: Foghorn usually is the kind of guy who lets others do the work for him, especially Henery Hawk. He is usually found napping when he's not pulling pranks on Barnyard Dawg, and I can't think of a better representation of Sloth than him.

Yosemite Sam = Wrath: At first, I was going to go with Marvin the Martian since he always schemes on blowing up the Earth, but Yosemite Sam definitely has his anger displayed to a T. Loud-mouthed and vicious, he gets real mad when something doesn't go his way. It's easy to make Sam angry, that's for sure.

Taz = Gluttony: Oh come on, you saw this coming. The Tasmanian Devil is a ferocious, gluttonous, eating machine who can consume basically anything. He has an appetite for all kinds of animals, especially rabbits. Whatever you do, don't go anywhere near this carnivorous marsupial, for his jaws is as powerful as a steel trap.

Off-screen, are Donald and Daffy friends, enemies, or frenemies?

Donald: Well, you probably deserved it. Daffy: Shut up. Do you know how hard it is to get all my feathers back? Donald: Not as hard as raising 3 kids.

I like the idea that they're sort of friendly rivals that occasionally hang out and catch up over drinks. They tease each other and haze each other, but never cross any lines. The two bond over their jobs constantly being mayhem and gossip about their co-workers / family.

Daffy: Oh yeah, I've got a lot of suitors. I'm very lovable, as you can see. As for the ladies...

Daffy: Melissa is beautiful ...almost as much as me... and she's actually really funny ...nearly at my level... she's an acting pro ...clearly approaching my star power.

Daffy: Tina is super handy ...she rebuilt the entire house... won second place in that pageant ...I would've won first... she didn't hate me after that letter ...I even called her a psychopath.

I don't know a lot about Melissa, but Daffy and Tina's romance was pretty cute in The Looney Tunes Show, so why not?
