after getting that suit izuku totally felt kinda clumsier on the battlefield due to many years of the lack of experience and u know damn well katsuki wouldn’t let that slip. he’d criticise and point out izuku’s little mistakes and it would sound harsh if izuku didn’t know for sure that’s bakugou’s way of being worried about him. the rest of the class would even be like “HEY give him a break!! he’s just getting used to it again dude :(“ and bakugou would snap like “he needs to get better if he still wants to catch up with me” and and and

they start training together again cuz “i gotta look after you, dammit, you better improve quickly so we can work together” and izuku, being completely caught off guard would be like “YOU WANT US TO WORK TOGETHER?? BUT YOU’RE #2 HERO??”

when izuku finally lost his embers im sure that bakugou was the first one to know and the first one to see izuku’s breakdown. im talking ugly sobs, tight hugs and calming whisper from bakugou even though he’s about to cry as well

i don’t believe that bkdk didn’t really communicate during these eight years, in fact i believe that bakugou was almost the only one checking up on izuku frequently. imagine him talking to izuku about how his day was when katsuki is literally about to explode cuz hatsume and david shield made a shit ton of progress in their plan. imagine him wanting to tell deku everything but being unable to cuz he doesn’t want to get deku’s hopes up. so bakugou is forced to be silent about everything even tho he sees how unhappy deku is and he really really really wants to make him feel better. IMAGINE HOW HE FELT WHEN THEY FINALLY FINISHED THE PROJECT AND HE COULD FINALLY GIVE IZUKU HIS DREAM BACK. IM NOT NORMAL. HELP.

nevermind i read the more normal-ish translation where i finally learned about the whole “getting izuku’s quirk back” thing and honestly it’s such a win. i take my disappointment back. i’m gonna think about what happened in-between those eight years for the whole day.

the fact that so many people are actually convinced that horikoshi’s going for an izuocha endgame after reading the latest chapter is truly horrifying and goes to show how most people don’t take wlw pairings seriously. because, really, who cares that uraraka is grieving over the loss of her beloved? she’s speaking to izuku, that is DEFINITELY an izuocha hint, right??

that’s the best proof that when it’s a straight ship EVERY communication will be considered romantic and when its a gay ship “you can have a lifetime's worth of my blood” or “their feelings become one” is obviously pLaToNiC

okay honestly i haven’t read THAT many fics yet but still there are some faves

my absolute love goes to “the art of falling” by sapphicflower on ao3 and as far as i know its not finished yet BUT ITS SO GOOD I CAN’T *NOT* RECOMMEND IT. it’s a quirkless au where bakugou is in a band and deku is a songwriter and they have to work together AND THE SLOWBURN THERE IS KILLING ME ITS SOO NKMXKXXXNX

my second fav is “My Hero Academia - The Post-War Arc” by Son_of_Olympus which is uh as it is clear by the title literally the post war arc. lemme say its actually really close to canon but deku still has ofa so it can be read as an alternative ending of mha

okay this one is the funniest i’ve read srsly. “Bluebird” by EtherealBeing. it’s an au where katsuki accidentally calls wrong number (which happens to be izuku midoriya’s) and starts ranting about his day and then he realised he made a mistake but they still start chatting. im a sucker for “strangers to lovers” trope so. yeah. also deku writes poems there and this is one of the best hcs i’ve seen.
