This is legit. My husband is a paramedic. I hear the horror stories - waiting hours for an ER bed with a patient on your stretcher while people call 911 for emergencies but there are no ambulances available.

I went to Target. By myself. (I’m vaxxed and wore a mask because I’m not an idiot.)

It was glorious.

In the last few weeks I’ve had four of six kids quarantined because of contact exposure, two kids sick (strep and ear infection- no covid), I got sick (because my kids shared their cooties with me) and now I have a kid with a broken foot because he’s my gold medalist at playing Jackass the home game.

Husband (911 paramedic) is working up to 48 hours straight at a time. He ran 31 calls in 36 hours last shift. There are no ICU beds left in our county.

I’m constantly exhausted and stressed out. They’ve finally mandated masks here for schools but I’m worried it’s too little too late.

half the time being a writer is like

“fuck all the little details, i’m doing this for fun and i don’t owe anyone anything! hell yeah!”

and then the other half is like

“okay so this character is a thief so i’m going to do hours of research on how professional thieves operate because otherwise maybe a real thief will read this and laugh at me for not knowing how thieving works and then they’ll show it to all their thief friends and i will be the laughingstock of the thief community and that would be so embarrassing for me!!!!!!!!”
