1) we got a new head of state, which is our old ones because after a week no one could yet agree on another candidate. our old/new head of state had been anticipating his retirement for months now and he's been forcibly re-elected against his will. it's the second time this happens in the span of ten years (napolitano sempre nei nostri cuori). we just hope he wrecks the worst possible havoc in retaliation

2) there are rumors (started by no other than his own wife) that one of the most famous italian showmen [who worked on berlusconi's tv channels for decades] is bi, or at the very least has been flirted with by freddie mercury. uh.

I know it's a personal opinion but regarding the lewd stuff that everyone is complaining about: like, they know this isn't the first lewd kind of thing in jojo, right? Like the OG manga has a lot of questionable stuff in general. Plus, literally right when she was introduced, jolyne was masturbating and talks about sex quite a bit. But apparently when someone other than Araki writes it they're a bad guy?

(I'm not coming at you or trying to be rude to you btw- I hope I'm not coming across that way- it's just all this hate stuff towards the author on twitter is just overwhelming and they are making themselves look like clowns for making a big deal out of nothing. Like if you don't like it you don't like it but that doesn't condone you acting like a psycho to the author for it, you know?)

Jojo surely isn't free from lewd-y things -as you cited, Jolyne's masturbation and other stuff- but I think that the main problem here is that the "nsfw" stuff is the main focus of the entire one shot. Like, did we need 30 pages of Jolyne being forced to feel horny by an enemy stand? I'm not so sure about it. Like, if this wasn't the main focus but something that was framing a more solid plot I think nobody would have nothing to say about it. Like you mentioned, kinda lewd stuff isn't something new in Jojo, but here it was too overwhelming, in my opinion. I'm not going to say it was hentai, buuut it was really really near to be kinda similar to a soft p*rn, which again. Did we feel the need to have a spin-off completely dedicated to it? Again, not so sure about it.

As I said in my previous answer, it was a kinda soulless short comic, and the themes that could have been explored -I found interesting how Fujiko's obsession towards Jolyne excalated into a sort of religious veneration- were rushed at the end, leaving too much space to Jolyne going around and being just forced to feel horny. Not even Fujiko was fully explored: she showed up, drew nice art, was given a stand, the horny thing happened, it excalated and then bam, memories erased and bye bye. Her actions had no consequences in any way, as everything she did and caused was simply erased in the end by Pucci when he realised he had fucked up, he took the stand back and see ya later honey. Like... I can see it as something written for fun, but for it to be even published on ultra jump? I can see it a little less.

And once again, someone might have liked it, someone not, but this doesn't justify any hate the author is receiving. Why should someone send toxic hate to someone else because they did something that they didn't like will always be beyond my comprehension. Just shrug it off, c'mon

And don't worry, you didn't come off as rude! I understand the frustration seeing an author being vexed like that, and your asks were a good prompt to explain why I didn't like the spin off! By the way, what's your opinion about the one shot?

Just to clarify you're not saying you don't like the SO spin off because of the lewd Jolyne, right? Because the author got way too much toxic hate for something so ridiculous.

That was one of the reasons, but not the main one; I really didn't like that spin off because it was just... unnecessary. It didn't add anything to the main story, it wasn't something that went deeper on something that maybe in the main story had been a little left off or on someone that wasn't in the main cast -like, as much as it was controversial, for example, Purple Haze Feedback worked because it went deeper into Fugo's characterization while also introducing new characters- but here? Nothing new was added to Jolyne, nothing changed in the main story, nothing that was a bit unclear was explained better, it was just like... a mini comic a fan could have drawn that was published on ultra jump. I read it and was just like "....ok? Well, anyway-", it left NOTHING, it was completely forgettable and, honestly, it wasn't even fun to read
