Sectish Body Types

I had an Image in my head of the average body types for each Sect and had to draw it.

Windi - Based on oriental cats - The tallest of the Sectish, with the longest tails/legs and largest ears - long bodies and faces - lots of boxy shapes

Riverish - Based on maine coons - The fluffiest of the Sects and with the largest paws - Has two layers of fur- outer layer is thick and water-repellent, inner layer is soft and downy - Tufted ears are very common - Rotund

Thunderian - Based on birman cats - Shortest tails & thickest legs of the Sects, but itty bitty paws - Oval/rectangle shapes

Shadower - Based on singapura cats - Tiniest of the Sects; scrawny babies - Sharp, thinner shapes - Basic cat silhouette (but smol)

Finally started outlining! A few tidbits are written- mostly stuff that appeared in my head that I was too excited about to not write- but as of now, the prologue is completely written and has been beta read and the first two chapters have outlines!

Why did you switch lion and golden’s prefixes?

"Lion" is now a holy prefix meant only for females! It invokes the Great Mothers, the three goddesses of femininity and motherhood. Lionheart couldn't keep it, so I swapped it with Goldenflower's!

Why'd you change Deadfoot to Hollyhock? Couldn't you have just gone with Hop, like in canon? Also I think you forgot to mark Raggedstar as male in your family tree /nm

I could have gone with Hop, you're right- common hops are a plant that the Wind Sect would probably know, plus rabbits and hares hop, etc. But giving Deadfoot the name Hop reads less as him being named after the plant or action, and more like being named after his twisted foot and the fact that he would "hop" a bit while learning to walk. That felt cruel, and out of line with how the Sects would name their children, so I went with Hollyhock instead.

I did not, in fact, forget to mark Ragweed as male! She's actually transfem in this rewrite, so her name is pink on the family tree. I think I posted this somewhere before, but the Shadow Sect is a matriarchal community. They prefer cats who are female or adjacent in their positions of leadership.

Yes! They're alud anherr- platonic mates. They're both on the aromantic spectrum, and Rose helped Blue raise her kits. Misty, Stone, and Moss are basically hers too, though she wasn't mates with their mother until after they became warriors.
