Last night I had a dream that Project Moon released a product into the Real World for April Fool's Day called Stagger Gel. Despite it having the texture of vaseline and coming in a little puck container, Stagger Gel is supposed to be eaten. (The container came with a small plastic spoon.) I remember it being moderately sweet and minty, and it would always be cold even if left out at room temp. And it sure would stagger you shortly after being consumed. Great product 10/10

okay i dunno if you guys are ready for this. so. i was thinking about my favorite games (in regards of story) of all time (persona 4, limbus company, fear and hunger termina) and wondering how that came to be. out of everything i’ve played and seen, why these games specifically? why does nothing else come close? persona 4 definitely doesn’t fit in at first glance, but i can’t rightly boot it from sitting at the same level as the other two, so why?

i’ve found that they all share a central trope/plot device that i greatly enjoy, as someone who loves tumbling stories over in my head, trying to understand every little facet. it’s how they take their characters and pull out their beating hearts. making the intangible physical. shadows, moonscorching, and distortion are all basically the same idea.

that’s why you can say “moonscorched naoto” or “distorted marina” or “shadow ishmael” and they all work. each story is set up for you to have the knowledge to translate these character’s inner struggles into these outward physical representations, even if the specific flair is slightly different (although moonscorching and distorting are virtually the same thing but yknow what i mean).

all of this is very fun and highly encouraging of crossovers, but it’s also an invitation to really think harder about all of these characters. that’s why i like it so much, i think. when they pull out their feelings in a way even somebody like i can understand, it gives a framework with which the characters can be better and more clearly understood. let’s be real, subtext can be really hard to parse sometimes, but when they go “nahh here’s how it is” and turn it all into a big ass monster then not only am i going “hell yeah big monster” but i am also taking out my notebook and going “holy smokes this is so peak i love video games and being alive”.

distort the flip out of your original characters. give characters from any other media you like a shadow and a dungeon. writing is fun. art is fun. understanding characters is fun. it’s all just tools to help you have more fun doing these things. and good god, if you like one of these games and don’t know about the others, play them all. i am begging you.

tbh he's not very giger-y, and i also never fully finished it, so i could redraw it someday but like. honestly magnamalo kinda fuckin sucks guys. i'm not the only one right??? like he's bad??? i thiiiiink velkhana was my favorite flagship of the fifth generation but honestly i'm not a super huge fan of any of them, like they're just okay, but not like. zomg!!! yknow
