where do limebloods fit in? did they go through an extinction like in canon or are they just super rare?

Limebloods in Hswap are currently extinct like in canon They were higher than olive and lower than gold (in caste terms think of them between indigo and purple in canon) They were Crocker's biggest supporters and their abilities being used against the higher ups were the cause of their genocide

Hi! What do you think of Vriska and John/June in contact to help trolls safely to Earth? Maybe Dad Egbert adopted a bunch of mutant troll grubs and John is sort of playing older sibling and talking to this cool troll girl from another planet.

Maybe his dissatisfaction with life at the start feels more like extra responsibility, not just being trapped by the suburbs but by secrecy and the burden of care.

Extra conflict if John finds out that his best friend Dave isn't dead, but living as the plaything to a tyrant king.

(I may have a weakness for Spider8reath, especially if June is there. I'm not sure which Egbert you want to use in this AU, though).

I'm also a sucker for Dad Egbert adopting a bunch of alien children.

I don't know if you've asked this but what's going on with Terezi? Tealbloods are pretty middle in the spectrum so her position on a caste level hasn't changed too much, but she looks deeply distressed in the cards. Is it cuz she's close to Karkat?

yes,Terezi actively works to cover up or dampen public reactions to Karkat's frequent slasher tantrums.

how are the Ancestors different in the au? do the just switch roles/backstories or are you rewriting them partially/completely?

I'm still trying to decide for now its just "how would this character adapt to this environment and how would their status change certain aspects.There are hints of their original story from homestuck. Ancestors are a little difficult cause for me I only have a limited amount of knowledge about them For Example,HIC still has her aggression but Crocker (swapped HIC) uses that to keep earth hidden and fight any troll that rises suspicion.There are similarities but are channeled in different ways compared to canon.Not a direct flip in personalities but Alternia easily brings the worst in people

Could you explain the purple blood ranks? Also, could you provide examples for stuff like singers or acrobats? Second question; is there a functioning gladiator system? I’d think it runs like a fighting ring, where strong lowbloods are sponsored by a highblood and forced into televised fights to the death with lusii, other arena fighters, or criminals who the aristocracy wants to make an example of. Since purples and indigos are so strong when they actually get sleep, as well as how purples can go into a adrenaline-fuelled rage, they would most likely be exploited by those with more status than them.

Firstly,I LOVE this idea and it does make a lot of sense!! for purplebloods,I see it like an indie singer beyond underrated and never given a proper chance to let themselves shine and get recognition they deserve.Purples are a skilled and highly ambitious caste,full of energy and determination to pursue what they excel in Fighting rings are absolutely a thing.As awful as it is to say,it'd be like dog fighting.Young trolls riled up to blind rage and a lack of safety to where they just attack on sight.It'd be a risky career as any day you might get knocked out or injured too bad to no longer be useful to the empire.Once you start that path..you never really get out of it

Why Dave for the Hemoswap? Why not John? He's THE main character of Homestuck and has a better connection to Karkat.

Honestly it is due to me being more interested in Dave and Karkat's interactions during homestuck.Hemoswap is more focused on Alternia and trolls so the story kinda molds itself around the edits i made a few years back

Still working them into the story properly but I feel like Jade would be in Cahoots with the Pisces to reference her control from the condesce in the og story John I'm still stumped on so any suggestions or head cannons would be appreciated

Like how in the og universe, Burgundy population was very high while Violet population was a much lower number but now flipped

yep! only difference is that due to the Lime cast being straight up ignored (my bad when making the au,was still learning about homestuck and Alternia in general at the time) Teal doesn't change all that much

ffff ok no more being cryptic Dave's horns are prosthetics and he is still human.He often disguises himself when in public or visible around other trolls BUT the horns aren't uh...exactly artificial fgdhjdg when Karkat has one of his usual outbursts there tends to be plenty of horns that can be harvested and made into a headband
