Since the fic is yours, it’s still posted to your account! Therefore, it’ll be listed as a fic on your statistics page. Click it, and It’ll take you to the fic. Your fic will also be de-anonymized for you and you alone on the collection page, and you can update it from there.

Would making a comic and posting it to ao3 count for this event?

In this case the answer is a no, as we want the focus to be on writing. However, if you aren't as confident with prose you could try a screenplay format, or other alternatives! See it as an opportunity to try something new.
