Shoto doesn't come here often, he usually doesn't have the time being a pro hero and- well, that's about it. Today is just one of the rare days he's got some time to spare after his shift at the agency and ends up at the local cat cafe, ordering some iced matcha latte with sugar and cream. Everything in here is cat themed and Shoto is unashamedly delighted about it.

"Thank you." he pays and looks around to find a seat.

"No you extras, he's taken."

The dad-shaped man might have defeated his boyfriend but- Shoto was sure he wouldn't have such an immediate win with Shotos best friend.

"Okay." he agreed with a nod, mirroring his boyfriends position, taking the other boys hand, a soft smile playing at his lips. Despite zero experience with this kind of thing, Shoto wasn't a push-over. He had decent strength in his upper body and arms, even though, he was quite sure that eventually Katsuki was much stronger than him.

Katsuki grinned outright and took a seat across from Shouto. He raised his arm and placed his elbow on the surface of the table in between them. He held his hand out towards his boyfriend. "We can start on the count to three."

"You better don't. I don't like it when you do." he hummed and sat down.

"I won't hold back either."

"I won't hold back," Katsuki warned with a cheeky smirk. "Hope you know that."

"Arm wrestle me then?" no shame, no hesitation.

"....."

Katsuki wasn't thinking that far ahead. "Yaknow what? Yes."

"Is that a code for something gay?"

"To utterly crush and dominate your opponent."

"Whats the point of arm wrestling?"

"Huh?" he pauses, trying to hide his amusement as lets himself be pushed back against the counter, not even slightly bothered by it. The opposite actually. He's excited, thrilled maybe?

If this actually upset either of them he wouldn't have done it, of course, but he's quite sure that, as much as Katsuki claims to be pissed off, he doesn't mind any opportunity to get up close and personal like this. That is probably why he tolerates as much of Shotos bullshit like this. Shoto genuinely thinks it's cute. Katsuki is so damn cute when he's angry and stomping and grumbling but this? This is even better.

"Well, it's not my fault you've been too busy with Izuku and where would be the fun with that?" Shoto hums as casually as possible as his lover back hits the counter. While his expression remains calm and collected, his heart is hammering away in his chest. "Is both an option?"

Katsuki narrowed his eyes immediately at Shouto's innocent act. He wasn't buying it for one second.

"'Didn't expect me', my ass!" he scoffed. "Yaknow, if you want my attention, you coulda just sent me a text without trying to piss me off." He moved closer towards Shouto and pushed him forward until the dual-Quirk user was caught between his chest and the counter behind them.

"Now I gotta figure out, are you hungry for food or for me?"

If he was any less of a brat he might have felt sorry for pulling his boyfriend away from whatever he had been doing but, he doesn't feel any remorse just waiting patiently and feeling a giddy little spark of joy in his stomach when he notices the angry stomping steps approaching. He has been counting the minutes, heart skipping a beat at the familiar yelling.

Once Katsuki enters the room his just turns to look at him, feigning confusion and putting on his best innocent surprise expression ever. Someone should award him for his masterfully crafted scheme. Shoto being a brat is no news, at least not for a certain hot-headed blond. No one else would expect the notorious UA sweetheart to pull such a (admittedly dangerous) stunt just to get his boyfriends attention, but here they are.

"Oh. You're back early? I didn't expect you." he doesn't even bother to answer the question asked because it seems quite obvious, right? Needless to say that Shoto missed him, but he does so anyway: "I missed you."

Katsuki had just finished up a One For All training session with Izuku when his phone buzzed loudly in his pocket. He drew it out and squinted immediately when he saw the texted pictures.

"What the hell does he think he's doing?" he growled before he shoved the phone back into the pocket. He had planned to hit the showers immediately after training, but the dumbass stunt Shouto was pulling needed immediate attention.

"Kacchan...?" Izuku prodded when he saw the angry expression on Katsuki's face. "Something wrong?"

"Shouto's being a dumbass," Katsuki huffed. That was his only explanation before he stormed off towards the kitchen.

Once he had arrived into the room, he glared over at his boyfriend who was still standing by the stove.

"OI! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, HAH?!" he exclaimed loudly.

"Did you know Bakugou could heal people?"

"I did not? What do you mean?"

shout out horikoshi for consistently choosing to clarify in every update to canon that todobaku real. appreciate that actually. todobaku nation how does it feel to lose i guess we’ll never know.

"Why exactly are we comparing... this?" not to mention that his boyfriend is obviously the best.

"Soooo...." He shifted awkwardly from foot to foot. "I guess you're my cousin?"

The overall awkwardness is felt mutually. Shoto doesn't know anything about his immediate family, let alone extended. Especially his mothers side of the whole ordeal is entirely unknown to him. They never talked about it, they never visited, they never called. Truth be told, that man is a stranger to him. He's not even certain he remembers his name.

"Uhm... I guess so?" his reply doesn't imply rude intentions and there is nothing outright dismissive about it, he just genuinely doesn't know what else to say.
