My mother & I took a little trip to Vancouver to visit my brother and celebrate an early Christmas. It was beautiful for December. Here's a few shots from a stroll through downtown Vancouver. 

Note: My bro got a little creative with the diagonal photo of my mother and I , it turned out pretty dope.

Alright... here it is. I put this together in about 5 days. It's an assignment for my class where we're given a theme and have to make a "PSA Commercial" about it. 

I gave as much credit to the music as possible so hopefully I don't get in to trouble too soon for using these songs without permission...

Some Thoughts About the Process:

   -I could have cut the scenes to the music a lot smoother in the beginning, but once I realized it, I was over halfway finished...

   -You'll notice it flows better towards the end (as I begin to figure things out a little too late)

   -the dialogue flows to scene's pretty accordingly

   -I enjoy the synchronized "STOMP" with the snare in the song (listen for it, its obvious!)

   -the random eye of me is out of place and the marching is relatively boring...

   -it's major cheese & I make it sound like my dad died (he didn't, he's just a rad dude)

   -The way it cuts to black with the music, gives it certain power, which I absolutely love & ran with from the hop, kind of like the space of silence in music

   -I would have made this "commercial" way shorter if they didn't want a 5 to 10 minute one, best I could stretch it out to, with limited time, was over 3 minutes

I'm my own toughest critique, if I could restart this, I'd give myself another week to really smooth it out. Oh well, it's due in 2 days.

Update on Life: School is almost done!

I've been in a police studies program for basically the whole year and it's nearing the end! So hopefully I can catch up on some of my old interests... like this site. Photography. Art. Whatever and just enjoy the free time for a bit. 

My plans for the next year are totally up in the air, but I, at least, have plans... I might be a personal trainer. I might not work. I might travel. I might fish. I might be a police officer. I might do all of it, there's no limits!

For now I'm solely focused on finishing strong and keeping an eye on what the future has in store. On that note: Stay positive and work hard!

Policing from the Public Eye by Josh Murdock

I recently did a few interviews for one my classes. I thought I'd share more of my work in general on here considering I haven't been doing much with the site/content lately!

This was good practice on my part of capturing the subject in a comfortable environment & editing. They really get into some of the questions even though they were relatively simple and short. What do you think about the idea of community policing & how it can improve?
