James Cosmo made an appearance on Castle, as Finn Rourke. I recognized him right away as the Commander Mormont from Game of Thrones. 

Cosmo has the ridiculous amount of 216 IMDb credits, including tv show Merlin, and the legendary movie Braveheart. 

Fun fact: James Cosmo is the son of James Copeland, a famous actor.

I got tired of Castle and went on a slumber from tumblr after a death in the family, but now I’m back in action and figured I would share the couple of ready drafts of my Castle posts and move on to my next tv show binging, Hercule Poirot. 

On Castle episode, “The Third Man” I saw once again a familiar face: Rick Gonzalez. Even though he has 70 IMDb credits, I’d say the one role he is best known for, is his recurring role in Arrow, as Rene Ramirez, aka Mad Dog.

Another familiar face on Castle. This one took me a while to remember, but it's Marc Blucas, also known as Riley from Buffy the Vampire slayer. It's been quite a while since I watched Buffy so 🤷

I've not seen Marc in much stuff since, but looks like his acting credits contain lots of christmas romcoms. He certainly has the face for it.

To most of the people he is the guy from 24. To me he will always be Yakavetta from Boondock saints. If you haven't seen it, watch it. They're about to make a 3rd movie soon.

Carlo Rota has an extensive acting credit list of 141 titles, even though he didn't start acting until the age of 30.

Besides previously mentioned titles, he's also known for Othello and one of the latest bigger roles is in Jane the virgin.

Second proper jaw drop while watching Castle. It's Amenadiel!!! I love Tom Ellis and I looove Lucifer but lets face it. The show would be much more boring without D.B. Woodside and his super charming smile and his characters involvement in the crazy events Lucifer finds himself in.

Just look at that smile below. It's so pretty it melts your insides. D. B. Woodside has also starred in Suits, Single ladies, 24, Murder one... He has 51 acting credits and shocking fact, that number is just off by 1 from his age - 52!!! 😱 he looks 10 years younger than that!

I'm watching Castle too much cause I fall behind on these posts... This guest star had me wondering for a while - one of those faces, or do I actually recognise her? Well, turns out I do know her. Michaela McManus was a lycanthrope in the Vampire Diaries! Other than that, I've seen her in the tv show Aquarius and very recently as I was watching the TV show, You.

Michaela has 30 acting credits and in many of the tv shows she's been in, she has quite the recurring role.

Fun fact, she went to the same university as Denzel Washington.

More Star Trek cast in Castle! Mark Moses did some guest starring in the episode "Kill the messenger".

Mark is also well-known for his shady character in Desperate housewives and he also played in two award-winning war movies, Platoon, and Letters from Iwo Jima.

Fun fact, Mark Moses is the big brother of the actor Burke Moses.

Next to Robert Curtis Brown there is another familiar face, Anne Ramsay. I recognised her from one of my teenage favourite shows, Mad about you. She's also well-known for her part in the movie League of their own.

Anne is an UCLA graduate with 80 acting credits. She got two nominations for best supporting actress for movie The Taking.

Yikes, it's the commander Andrew Pryce from The Handmaids tale. And he isn't very nice man in Castle either.

Robert Curtis Brown has 173 acting credits (wow), but over a 100 of those are from small parts (less than 5 episodes) in tv shows. Seems like his biggest role was back in the 80's in a tv show called Search for tomorrow, where he was for 170 episodes.

Interesting fact, Curtis has 2 degrees from Yale!

HAIL HYDRA. It's Reed Diamond! It was interesting to see this man, who often plays quite sleazy characters, as a family man. I remember him mostly for his role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the disgusting, two-faced character in 13 reasons why as that school principal. Brr...

Reed has 97 acting credits and quite a large part of them are from small, 1 to 3 episode parts on multiple tv shows, but he has bigger roles on quite a few shows: Judging Amy, Designated survivor, Journeyman, The girl in the woods, The Purge, Franklin & Bash, Dollhouse... he's also been to quite a few movies, including an award-winning film, Moneyball.

Okay, I'm confused. This Paula is Castle's publisher, but I thought Castle's ex wife, Gina was his publisher? Did I miss something? Well. Anyway. This new publisher looks pretty familiar...

It's the cool looking lady in Batman Forever! I'll never forget that costume she was wearing, nor the hair.

Debi Mazar has looooads of 1-episode roles on popular TV shows, like Elementary, Ugly Betty, Ghost whisperer, CSI Miami, Friends... but she has also bigger roles amongst her 116 acting credits. She's done 22 episodes in L.A. Law, 36 in That's life, 50 in Entourage and 82 in a recent show, Younger.

You'd think Castle's publisher would show up in the show more often, but she is just a 1-episode star in this one too. Weird?

More familiar faces on Castle! It's the grumpy bodyguard and loyal best friend of Oliver Queen! I loooove him in Arrow. He has such a smooth voice, and his character gets to say the best sarcastic lines.

I was checking his pre-Castle time and was surprised to learn that when he was younger, he played the main part in a tv show called Good news.

Before and after Good news, it's been small movie parts and 1-episode parts on tv shows, but right around the time he guest starred on Castle, he got a bigger part on tv show Dexter (how did I not remember this?!). Couple of years after Dexter he landed the part as the beloved John Diggle on DC tv shows, but hasn't done acting since. He is an accomplished martial artist, and played the famous boxer Muhammad Ali on the tv movie Ali: an American hero.

First proper jaw drop while watching Castle, when Rick opens the door to his daughters new violin teacher, Dylan. Omg it's Superman!!! I don't even know does this man need introductions, like, come on. Most of the tv addicts know him by now. He first caught my eye on Teen Wolf as Derek and totally broke my heart when he suddenly left the show, but now I get to see him in tights as Superman, so, all forgiven. I'm okay with this.

Back in his early teens, Tyler already had 62 episodes of show called 7th Heaven under his belt, but after that, before Teen Wolf, he did mostly just 1-episode roles on multiple shows. After Teen Wolf, it was just uphill for him and when it was time to cast DC's new Superman for TV shows, he didn't even need to audition.

Fun fact though, few years before Teen Wolf, Tyler was offered the role of Emmett Cullen on the Twilight movie, but Tyler turned it down so he could focus on baseball. Good call, Tyler!

Btw I'm so bummed that this violin teacher is only one episode character on Castle. Booooo...

This one I had to Google. Her face was clearly familiar but I just could not figure out why. Stephanie Faracy has almost 100 acting credits, yet half of them are from one episode guest starring roles. For excample: Grey's anatomy, The Goldbergs, Modern family, Desperate housewives, How I met your mother, Ugly Betty.... the list is long. Recently she did a big role in the movie Mike and Dave need wedding dates.

However... back in the 90's, she did have a part in the Halloween classic, Hocus pocus, and probably left quite an impression with that super weird corset thing she wore. That however is not where I recognised her from because she looks pretty different nowadays.

Another familiar face on the episode with the murdered model on Castle, Matt Barr! Took me a moment to remember where I know his... handsome... face from, and it was the tv show I greatly enjoyed a year or two back, Hatfields & McCoys!

As many other actors, Matt started his acting career by doing lots of one episode-starrings in tv shows. Just before his role on Castle, he'd gotten his first bigger tv show part on Harper's Island, and after that it started to go slowly uphill. The role in Hatfields & McCoys, 9-episode role in Sleepy Hollow, movie parts, and 13-episode roles in Valor and recent new show, Blood & Treasure. Fun fact: Matt Barr was one of the two choices to play Barry Allen in the DC show, The Flash!

Castle episode full of models and of course Torrey DeVitto, an ex model, is there! I recognised her for her role as Melissa on Pretty Little Liars (another PLL star on Castle).

But apparently, even before PLL fame and guest starring on Castle, Torrey was one of the lead actors in tv show Beautiful People. After PLL, she got a big part in Chicago Med, as Dr. Natalie Manning. She also starred in the Vampire Diaries, where she found her future husband, Stefan Salvatore - I mean, Paul Wesley!

Oh my god, it's Barry Allen's girlfriend! Candice Patton, pre-Flash, was mostly known for her role in the tv show Sorority forever. After that it was lots of 1 or 2 episode guest starring, Castle included, small recurring role in The Game, and finally, award-winning part in the DC show, The Flash.

She still has only 29 acting credits (4 of them being Iris West in different DC shows) but I'd say 156 episodes in the same show is a promising way to pave her way to bigger parts in the future.
