I have a draft detailing my speculations on the closed off/non-shown rooms in Brink of Consciousness: Dorian Gray Syndrome, but since I finished the game on all my saves, I can't access the points to get reference screenshots. So now I gotta replay this game for the 20th time. :) !

Shout out to Characters who are shells of their former selves! You died and you’re not coming back! You don’t recognize yourself and neither does anyone else, and it’s anyone’s guess what the fuck you’re supposed to be now!

It’s a wonder how you can think of yourself as hard to love when my love for you comes as easy as breathing.

Hidden Object Games have rather intense plots even though they are low budget mashups of ISpy books and puzzle games. You could be looking for teacups and snowflakes in a pile of clutter while a demon is about to escape from hell or you could be doing a rotating puzzle while a man fights for his life against a huge fish monster. And then there's the fact that every single lock needs a medallion or some special key or a solved puzzle to open. You can't even open a drawer without a full tea set. Also, a portion of the protagonists at detectives, probably because detectives naturally solve puzzles and is a gender-neutral title.

hey bro its ur beloved anon again, not sure why im staying anon since im planning on posting the link to my video on my account once i finish it lmao but oh well
i have another question for u ! the headline at the end of the dorian gray bonus chapter says "the criminal journalist sam wilde accused in killing of goldvale maniac" how do you interpret this headline?
to me it seems like the cops think sam killed oscar, and oscar killed everyone else . but this still is a win for oscar of course cus sam still goes to prison lol but i could be wrong, lemme know!
luv ya !
I think there are two different ways to interpret it, as Oscar puts it plainly before he dies as one of his exhibits -- the headline states that Sam is accused of killing the 'Goldvale maniac' and labels him as 'criminal' over it, which means he was likely either fully arrested or at least brought to trial for 'killing' Oscar.
Tumblr media
The other thing that could have happened as well, as Oscar also says, is that they find the other bodies and presume Sam was guilty of all of them, which would land him serving some time in prison for. But someone pointed out before that Sam could easily show the police his tape recordings of Oscar confessing to committing the crimes. I think that would either reduce or get rid of his sentence completely.
Tumblr media
The only way I see him getting out of the charge for Oscar's 'murder' is if he happened to be recording his final message to Sam, where he outright confesses he's framing him. But I don't think we'll ever know for sure as the bonus chapter just kind of ends there. If he doesn't have that recording, then I'm not sure how he can prove that he DIDN'T kill Oscar, unless the police are fully convinced that the embalming work couldn't have been done by Sam. This is assuming the police are competent and will even look into it, of course.
Sexy of Oscar for getting him arrested, either way!
