We’re back again for the 2018 H/L Summer Exchange!

This is a classic fic exchange. When you sign up you’ll submit at least three prompts you’d like to see filled. You write a fic and you get a fic, and the whole fandom has some new fics to enjoy!

This is a Harry and Louis exchange, so they are the main pairing. Side pairings are allowed.

Louis can’t shake the feeling that there’s something in the woods, pressing close and watching him with a heavy gaze. It makes him antsy, fills him with jitters. He wants to run, or scream, but he knows to do so would only put him in danger if there’s actually something out there after all. He’s sure he’s just imagining it, but his heart nevertheless pounds in his throat.

When Louis Tomlinson goes on a songwriting retreat to the Laurentian Mountains of Canada, this isn’t how he expects his evening to go.

Or:  The au where Louis is a singer who has been cursed to never make music again and Harry is a reclusive witch of the Canadian mountains who’s going to help him break the curse.

It’s been two weeks now. Two weeks of tossing and turning in his bed, waking up sticky with sweat, head pounding.

“Your moon is so different from mine, did you know?” the boy, Harry, murmurs, and Louis flushes red, glad the dark of the night hides the blush on his cheeks. Thinking about sweaty nights thrashing around in his bed isn’t the best idea right now. Not here, next to this boy. Some mornings, Louis could swear he wakes up with Harry’s scent on his pillow.

In the light of the moon, Harry tells stories about the places beyond the stars, and Louis wonders about the curve of his lips.

If Louis wasn’t completely sure that they were on May 22nd, he would’ve bet this was an April’s Fool joke. He couldn’t believe all these important people were seriously proposing he should appear on the cover of fucking Vogue magazine. He wasn’t alone, it seemed like Lottie was about to faint right next to him. He stared at each and every face in front of him, and they weren’t smiling, so this had to be a serious proposal. Actually, there was one face smiling - Harry’s. The fucker was smirking. Louis didn’t like him anymore.

Or the one where Louis finds himself modeling for Vogue Magazine next to hot top model Harry Styles and faking a relationship with him for the public, finding along the way more than a new way of life

SO! I made a thing a few weeks back. This is my first fic ever, so I’m kinda nervous sharing it, but as Harry says, I have to embrace it.

Louis has crossed the galaxy with a ship full of crystals; they’re the only thing he has to offer in exchange for safe harbor. He thought getting to his destination would be the hardest part, hoping that once he got his family to safety everything would fall back into place; Louis struggles to adapt while his sisters thrive. Louis suspects Emperor Styles may have something to do with it.

Louis tried to imagine what was happening deep in the bowels of the palace. No doubt one the twitchy men who’d met with him had run off to find the Emperor, holographic palette in hand. Louis had no idea what the emperor looked like, but he could still picture the amazement on his face as the images of amaranthine crystals were made clear.

Louis’ heart thudded harder as he imagined the nameless, faceless Emperor’s breath catching in his throat, fingers reaching out to touch the holographic image, fingertips pushing against empty air.

It had to work.

“So you must go out more often than I thought,” Harry said. “I see you all the time now!”

“Well, one of those times you literally came to my door.”

Harry laughed, a loud honking sound, a shock to Louis’ ears. He couldn’t remember the last time he made someone laugh, not so easily and genuine.

Harry didn’t seem embarrassed, but his eyes were hazy, hair a bit mussed up, cheeks red. Oh. He was drunk, or tipsy maybe. That explained a lot.

“That’s true,” he said, then frowned. “Oh no, do I seem like a stalker?”

“Eh,” Louis said, “just a little bit.”

Louis had a messed-up knee, ruined career, and labradoodle to take care of. Harry had a normal knee, perfect career, and concern for his recluse neighbor. Harry’s baking skills were enough to bring them together.
