i loooove tomarry time travel au but with outsiders ' perspective... imagine being Hermione sending Harry back to 1940s to stop Tom and then just to see him in Hogwarts: a History like "professor Harry Evans Riddle, the school's Defense against the dark art professor and his husband: Minister of magic Tom Marvolo Riddle". His picture in the book looks nervous as hell like he understood that he would be bombarded by Hermione when the time comes...

I thought about swap au tomarry a lot today. mainly about the difference between dumbledore's treatment towards them. it would make a lot more sense. if dumbledore found harry first and treated him with love and care regardless of house yet he grew up to be a dark lord, dumbledore would have every reason to be wary of tom, another kid with strangely similar upbringing and abilities. dumbledore is afraid that if he allowed himself to care and have such favoritism like he did with harry, tom would also grow up to be like that, unaware of how his treatment is bordering negligence...

About Tom Durmstrang au, how will he approach Harry? I imagine him first thinking about taking down the competition and then falling into a dead end hole because of those bright green eyes 👀

i don't have much idea for this yet but it's pretty close!!! at first tom would be not outwardly mean but kinda condescending towards harry since he didn't think harry would actually be able to put his name in the goblet.. but after seeing harry's performances in the first round he would grow fascinated and slowly turning obsessed with the strange boy and inevitably ask for his hand in the yule ball 😊. harry thought that tom was going to make fun of him but he looked so serious that it scared harry a little but he agreed to go with him anyway.

there's also some jealousy between tom and cedric too... i love seeing tom being possessive over harry despite only knowing him for like, five days. he just believes that they're meant to be.

also some details : voldemort and tom are the same but different since the curse casted on harry made him younger irl (both physically and mentally), so harry hasn't connected the dots that they're the same person. he saw voldemort in his dreams and tom in real life.

voldemort is in harry's dreams instead of tom because that's what represents tom/v soul.

and when harry fell into slumber because of the curse, tom already had feelings for him and panicked because he didn't know the cure for it so he brought harry back to his castle and guard it until harry wakes up 😪
