I’m reading this queer anthology and the first story is a fairytale about a queer Latina girl whose anger was so fierce it literally poisoned the rich white men who unfairly captured the transgender soldier she was in love with and my heart is literally bursting I’m going to cry
#ive read this and EVERY STPRY FUCKING SLAPS#like no other anthology ive read has had every single story be good as fuck but this is fully it#all out

now that ao3 as a whole is a hugo nominee and has reminded us all that it is an incredibly well-designed, excellently maintained project with an archival system that is the envy of many librarians etc, it is a great time to remember that:
ao3 is run entirely by volunteers
there are no ads or monetization at all to bother site users
and also the site works on strict guidelines to prevent us from being sued to bankruptcy etc
we use this amazing site for FREE
server space is EXPENSIVE and ao3 needs A LOT OF IT
the otw (which is the non-profit that runs ao3) spring donation drive is happening right now!
donations to the drive go to ao3 AND other projects run by otw
so if you use ao3 and appreciate all the hard work being done to keep it running, GO DONATE.
SUPPORT OUR HUGO NOMINATED ARCHIVE THAT ALLOWS US TO SAFELY AND FREELY ENJOY FAN CONTENT.
if you can’t donate, spreading the word, congratulating ao3 on the nomination, and thanking the ao3 volunteers for their hard work would also be lovely!!

ok full yike not to be that bitch on main but OOF... wow finding out two of your best friends are dating shouldn't make me feel this bad considering i'm not attracted to either of them and yet,, here we are. i feel like it's more just that i feel like a huge third wheel now (emphasis on huge lmao) and also like?? idk i think it's just that i have this overwhelming need to be desired by everyone even though that literally never happens. it's just so easy for her to find people all the time whereas for me it's like all people ever see me as good for is a quick drunk fuck to regret and forget later. and i just don't think i'll ever be able to overcome that unless i somehow lose 30 lbs which is obviously not going to happen. i just want to be considered an option for a relationship or a crush but it feels like at this point i'm just.. nothing. my body has become a war zone of wills and actions which contradict their purpose and nothing i do seems to change that.
#anyway im drunk if you couldnt tell#this is like finsta shit lmao#fuck whoever is skateboarding ohtaide my window in particular btw these college kids need to grow tf up

BOOKS I’VE READ ⁽²⁰¹⁸⁾ · flame in the mist, renee ahdieh
“I’ve never been angry to have been born a woman. There have been times I’ve been angry at how the world treats us, but I see being a woman as a challenge I must fight. Like being born under a stormy sky. Some people are lucky enough to be born on a bright summer’s day. Maybe we were born under clouds. No wind. No rain. Just a mountain of clouds we must climb each morning so that we may see the sun.”

“We are so much more than what we do!” Mariko drew closer, as if nearness could invoke a sense of truth. “We are…” She searched her mind for the right things to say. “Our thoughts, our memories, our beliefs!”
