Looking Dapper
Thank you for answering my ask. I really love how you write smut scenes so I was wondering if you could do something that included smut? Maybe where Taron and y/n haven't seen each other in years and something sparks between them when they first see each other. Maybe it's at a welcome home party for Taron who has been traveling for work for the last however long and someone invites y/n to the gathering.
A/N: Hey anon! Thank you so much for sending one! I do love a good bit of smut but donât write it too often because it sometimes makes me feel really out of touch with life. When the photos of Taron at his friendâs wedding first popped up, inspiration struck and led to this piece. A very smutty day indeed.

The Welsh countryside had been blessed with the warm rays from the sun which sat high in the sky, only a couple of clouds dotted around breaking up the crisp blue sky above. The line of the horizon was beautiful, the delicate blue of the sky met the bright, deep green of the fields and trees that surrounded the venue.
You had hung your light shawl over the back of your chair to try and remove as much from your body as you could, the heat already getting to you. It didnât help much though. It was almost unbearably warm. Not that you were complaining. Sian and Elwyn deserved the best of the best for their wedding day and there were plenty of places to cool down under the teepees that were set up for the reception later that afternoon.Â
All you had to do was get through the ceremony and then you could escape to somewhere cooler and get started on the drinking. There were still fifteen minutes before the ceremony was due to start so you grabbed your phone from your clutch to check your social media accounts, liking a couple of photos and posting one of yourself from before you left the hotel. Youâd balanced the phone on the large windowsill and had set a timer, getting yourself into place and smiling sweetly as the camera clicked.Â
You put your phone back in your clutch, not wanting to ruin any photos that were being taken by the photographer. There was something about phones in wedding pictures that you just didnât like, and you werenât going to be the person to ruin the photos that your friends would look back on for years to come and remember the day they swore their lives to one another.Â
âWell Iâll be damned,â a voice came from next to you.Â
Your breath hitched in your throat. You didnât even need to turn to see who was speaking to you because you recognised him by voice alone. The only difference to his voice was the slightly stronger Welsh twang that he had, surely from being back home for a little while longer. He always got more Welsh when he was home, falling into old habits.
âIf it isnât Y/N,â he added, sitting down next to you as you turned to look at him.Â
A large smile broke on your face and you threw your arms around his neck to hug him, inhaling deeply and allowing your eyes to fall closed. He was wearing the cologne that you loved him wearing. The one you had first bought him years prior for Christmas. It was a deep woody scent with a hint of vanilla and a slight undertone of tobacco. A Tom Ford scent that had set you back a pretty penny.Â
âTaron,â you whispered, slowly pulling away from the hug and taking in his appearance.Â
He had gelled his hair back, not a single hair out of place as he moved around. Unlike the other men at the wedding, he had opted for a monochromatic suit with a simple white shirt. The first couple of buttons were unfastened, his chest on show. The suit jacket was pinstriped and it fit him absolutely perfectly.Â
âHowâve you been, stranger?â You asked, tilting your body around to sit with. His thigh pressed against yours and ignited something inside you that you hadnât felt for a long while.Â
âIâve been good, thanks,â he said, smiling at you. âLots of projects last year, a couple in the works this year too.âÂ
âYouâre still a busy body then?âÂ
âOh absolutely.â He chuckled, waving at someone who was getting situated in their seat not too far away from you both. âHow about you? The last I heard you were opening your own coffee shop in Brighton?âÂ
You expelled air slowly between your lips, shaking your head. âYeah, that didnât work out,â you confessed. âI now work for a marketing company in London. I guess I still ended up in the place I swore Iâd never be.âÂ
Taron took a deep breath and gave you a sympathetic smile. Youâd told him numerous times that you didnât want to live in London. You were dead set against it, to be honest. It was the reason things with Taron stopped when they did. If it werenât for your desire to stay away from London, youâd probably be at the wedding with Taron as your plus one.Â
âI didnât mean-âÂ
âI know,â he whispers, giving you a small wink to tell you that it was okay.Â
The sun continued to shine down on you as the bridal party made their way down the aisle, standing in their respectful places. Taron absentmindedly rested his hand on his thigh, his pinky finger drawing gentle circles on your clothed thigh, sending shivers down your spine. You grabbed your shawl before Sian walked down the aisle, draping it over your shoulders as a way of guarding your skin from the sun and hiding the very visible goosebumps that were rising on your skin.Â
You stood up before Taron when Sianâs walking down the aisle song came on, and you could feel his hand settle on the lower part of your back when he was up. Your emotions were all over the place. You hadnât seen him for over two years and all of a sudden you were seeing one another for the first time at a mutual friendâs wedding and he had his hand on you and his finger on your thigh as you sat together.Â
When the ceremony was over, you stood and clapped for your friends, throwing the confetti that you had over them with everyone else, smiling like the Cheshire cat. Taron suggested you both grab a drink while the happy couple had photos taken with their families and you agreed, following him to the small bar and ordering yourself a glass of champagne.Â
âThat was such a lovely ceremony,â you commented, taking a sip of the cool liquid and already feeling a little more free. âTheyâre so in love.âÂ
âIt was lovely, I agree. Itâs taken them long enough to get married though.âÂ
You both chuckled as you headed to the area where games had been set up for guests to enjoy, opting to play four in a row. There were two bags of coins, a red bag and a black bag. You handed the red one to Taron and took the black for yourself, taking the first turn yourself when Taron motioned for you to.Â
The game went quickly, with you winning when Taron put his coin in the wrong spot, hands flying to his head in shame. You did a little happy dance, getting all excited when Sian walked over to you when a Queen song started to play.Â
The two of you started to dance together, one of your other friends taking their phone out and filming the two of you, panning the camera around to Taron who was holding two glasses of champagne, one for himself and one for you.Â
Sian turned to the photographer and beckoned her over, insisting that she take a photo of her with you and Taron. Not wanting to be a party pooper, you stood to her left, Taron stepping to her right and both of you wrapping your arm around her back. You smiled widely, staring into the lens of the camera waiting for the click. Taronâs thumb brushed against the back of your hand and you took an uneasy breath, trying to keep your composure.Â
Your skin ignited where he touched it, a thousand tiny fires burning from the inside out. When the photographer walked away, you hugged Sian tightly, congratulating her with a genuine smile and asking how she was feeling.Â
âWeirdly like my entire life has just slotted into place,â she gleamed. âItâs like I was supposed to be a wife, you know?â
You nodded. âI donât know if thatâs on the cards for me anymore,â you muttered, mainly to yourself.Â
âWhat do you mean?â Sian asked, curiosity taking over. âYouâre still so young. Thereâs plenty of time for you to find someone.âÂ
âBut what if Iâve already found that person? And messed it all up. What then?âÂ
Sian followed your gaze to Taron who stood posing for a photo, two glasses of champagne in his hands. He had unfastened an extra button since the ceremony but had yet to take off his suit jacket. You watched him intently, too many thoughts spinning freely in your mind.Â
âI donât think you messed it all up,â Sian replied after a little while, taking your arm in hers and pulling you into her side. The jewels on her dress scratched your arm but it didnât hurt. If anything it grounded you. Something that you desperately needed. âWhat makes you think you messed it all up?âÂ
âI donât think your wedding is the place to be talking about this.âÂ
âNo, come on. Iâm the bride and I say I want to talk about this. So you have to indulge me.âÂ
âI told him I felt suffocated in London,â you breathed. You remembered the day as if it was only yesterday.Â
Taron had just gotten back from a training session at the gym. He needed to bulk up before his next shoot so had spent nearly every evening in the gym working one part of his body or the other. You werenât mad, he always looked so fuckable when he got back. Which is why you had packed your bag when he wasnât there.Â
You didnât want to be in the flat when he got back. Instead of leaving while he was there, you started to write a note explaining why you were leaving. But he caught you before you could finish.Â
He stood near the kitchen entrance and looked you up and down, his eyes falling sad when he saw the bag on the sofa. âY/N? What are you doing?âÂ
âWhat I should have done a long time ago,â you admitted firmly, putting the pen down and looking at him.Â
Just as you had thought, he looked so good for someone who had just spent an hour and a half working out. His arms were strong and tensed as he rested his hands on his hips. His hair was slicked back underneath a baseball cap and the bottom half of his face was covered in a short stubble.Â
âI donât belong in London,â you forced yourself to say. âIâve never belonged here. I only stayed because of you. Iâve wanted to get out for so long.âÂ
âYou only stayed because of me?â He asked. He was hurt. You could tell with the crease of his eyebrows. âYou only stayed in London because of me? Way to make me feel bad.âÂ
âTaron, I told you when we first started this,â you motioned between the two of you with your finger, âthat I wasnât staying in London. I donât like being here. It is suffocating. If Iâm not in this flat Iâm in a tiny studio flat with nothing to do. I need to go. I need to be free.âÂ
âSo I make you feel trapped?â He asked.Â
He took a step towards you. You took a step back.Â
âY/NâŚâ
âTaron. What am I to you?âÂ
His brows creased more. âWhat? What do you mean?âÂ
âWhat am I to you? You asked again, this time a little further. You wanted to hear something specific, something that would stop you from taking your bag and leaving the flat, leaving London, potentially leaving the country. âI want you to be brutally honest. What am I?âÂ
He stumbled over his words, physically unable to tell you what you were to him. You pulled your bottom lip into your mouth and nodded through a sad smile. A tear fell down your cheek and you swatted it away quickly, not wanting to cry in front of him.Â
âThatâs why Iâm leaving,â you said finally. âI canât keep putting myself on the line for someone who canât even tell me what I am to them. You couldnât even say that Iâm a friend. Do you have any idea how shit that makes me feel, Taron?âÂ
He nodded. He did know. Because it made him feel just as shitty.Â
âThe one person who has been there for me since I moved to this shitty city canât even call me the thing he claimed to be all of two days ago? The one person who is the reason I moved here canât even tell me that Iâm a friend. I bet you didnât know that Iâm falling in love with you, did you?âÂ
Taron looked at you through wide eyes, mouth ajar as he watched you lift the note youâd started to write from the counter, ripping it into pieces and dropping it into the bin.
It had been your idea to begin with. To sleep together simple to relieve your desire to have sex. He agreed, under the pretence that you were going to remain friends. No feelings were going to be involved. You were just friends who slept together when you needed some relief.Â
Youâd managed to keep the feelings away. For a while. Youâd gone a year of just sleeping together. No feelings involved. But then one of your work colleagues caught you smiling at one of his texts and you knew you were fucking. And not by him.Â
âYou said-âÂ
âI know. I agreed to no feelings. And I meant it. Iâm a shit girlfriend. Iâm jealous and Iâm selfish. And I fuck everything up. I never wanted our friendship to be in the line of fire. I realised the other week that it wasnât just sex for me anymore. It was so much more. Thatâs why I have to leave. I canât stay here falling in love with someone who doesnât view me as anything other than a sex doll.âÂ
âYouâre falling in love with me?â
âNow isnât the time to have a heart to heart, Taron. Iâm leaving. Iâm doing you the favour and taking myself out of your life. I donât belong in London. I wonât end up in London.âÂ
You walked to the sofa and grabbed your back, shaking Taron off when he tried to grab your arm to stop you. All you wanted to do was fall into his arms but you couldnât. He didnât love you the way that you loved him. Putting the spare key he had given you on the table next to the door, you took one last look at Taron before closing the door and walking to the lift.Â
Youâd lost the one person you wanted to run to.Â
âAnd I told him that I was in love with him.âÂ
Sian whipped you around to look at you, her hands on your arms to steady you both. âYou told him what?âÂ
âDid you know that we were friends with benefits?â You asked. When Sian shook her head you carried on. âWe vowed that there wouldnât be feelings involved. And I shouldnât have suggested it. Because I think I was already falling in love with him when we started. But I shoved it all down and we used each other for sex.âÂ
âI canât believe what Iâm hearing.â Sian looked between you and Taron. âWhen he came here two years ago because he was really upsetâŚâÂ
âI told him that I was suffocating and that I was going to remove myself from his life,â you continued for her, looking at him with sad eyes. âAt the time I meant it. I was really suffocating but it wasnât London, and it wasnât him. It was me. I was suffocating myself. Pushing feelings as strong as I had down for so long was the worst thing I could have done. So I left. And I messed everything up.âÂ
Sian shook her head, âI donât think you did. I think you did what you needed to at the time.âÂ
âDo you know heâs wearing the cologne I got him for Christmas four years ago? It still smells just as good as it once did.âÂ
âItâs all he ever wears. Iâve not seen him wearing anything else since you left. I think heâs been hanging on to any hope that youâd come back and that things-â
âThey canât go back to how they once were.âÂ
âIâm not saying that they have to. Iâm just saying that heâs been pining for you.âÂ
You chuckled softly. âI think I have him too. Not that heâs going to care. Or know. I canât tell him.âÂ
âWhy canât you?âÂ
You sighed and looked at her seriously. âBecause isnât he seeing someone new? Itâs all anybody can talk about.âÂ
It was hard to escape Taron online. He was everywhere you went. Photos of him getting cosy to a redhead at a cafĂŠ in London, laughing at something said and drinking coffee on your Instagram discover page; photos of his various work projects being shared with your mutual friends; his own Instagram stories popping up when you least expected them to.Â
He was everywhere and nowhere all at once. Too close but too far.Â
âThey worked together,â she chuckled. âShe was called Honour and she has the same type as Taron.â
You looked at her in confusion. âWomen.âÂ
Laughing, you shook your head. âSian, what do I do?âÂ
Taron was walking back over to you then, the two glasses of champagne in hand and a smile on his face. He passed you one of the glasses and smiled at Sian.Â
âCongratulations, Sian. You look absolutely beautiful. Elwyn is one lucky man.âÂ
âThank you, Taron. Y/N, I think you know what you need to do,â she smirked, walking away and heading to her new husband who was waiting for her with open arms.Â
âWhat do you need to do?â Taron asked, tipping the glass up so that the golden liquid could slip down his throat.Â
âOh, nothing,â you said, tipping your own drink back. âCome on, dinner will be getting served too.âÂ
******
After dinner, the bridal party all made their speeches. You laughed, you cried, your heart broke and you were given hope. Sian and Elwyn looked absolutely perfect together as they sat at the head table, listening to their nearest and dearest talk about them and their relationship.Â
Taron and you were on the same table, sitting so close to one another that you could feel the heat of his body against yours. His breath fanned against your shoulder when he leaned forward to pick his phone up from the floor when it fell off the table, and you had to close your eyes to stop yourself from doing anything that you would regret.Â
âThe bride and groom are now going to share their first dance,â the DJ spoke, all of the guests clapping and cheering as Elwyn guided Sian to the dancefloor, spinning her into his arms and moving with her to the music.Â
Taron turned to you with a smile, but you didnât look at him. You were too taken by your two friends, their smiles lighting up the entire room and their hearts so visibly full as they enjoyed a few minutes to take everything in.Â
The lyrics of Unchained Melody ran through your entire body, igniting something deep within you that you didnât know you felt anymore.Â
âThe bride and groom would like any couples to join them on the dance floor for the final verse of the song to share in their special moment.âÂ
Taron didnât think twice before he grabbed your hand and guided you to the dance floor, wrapping one arm around your waist and grabbing your other to hold at shoulder height. You couldnât look at him for a second, but when you did, everything slowed down around you.Â
Woah, my love, my darling / Iâve hungered for your touch / A long, lonely time / And time goes by so slowly / And time can do so muchÂ
Your hand was clammy in Taronâs as you stared into his eyes wholly, his tongue running along the bottom of his lip and pulling it into his mouth. The words were so true, but you didnât know how to communicate how you were feeling. Something in you realised that Taron must have understood otherwise he wouldnât have got you to the dance floor to dance with him.
Are you still mine? / I need your love / I need your love / Godspeed your love to me
You just about managed to catch him looking from your eyes to your lips and back up again, and you instinctively copied his action, wetting your lips slowly. The sound of your heartbeat drowned out the sound of people chattering, the loud thumping stopping you from focussing on anything but Taron and it.Â
The song ended and people made their way back to their seats, but you stayed where you were, dancing to the next song that came on.Â
I found a love, for me / Darling just dive right in / And follow my leadÂ
The hand that once rested upon your waist moved to rest at your jaw, pulling you in so close that you could taste the champagne heâd had on his breath. His nose brushed against yours and upon your better judgement, your eyes fluttered closed, fisting his shirt tighter in your hand. He ghosted his lips over yours and took a shaky breath, rubbing the top of your cheek with the pad of his thumb.Â
When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful / I donât deserve this, darling, you look perfect tonightÂ
When he finally pressed his lips against yours, you relaxed into his touch, pressing your head against his hand to feel him closer. It took a couple of seconds for your eyes to open when he pulled away, his forehead resting against yours as he looked at you.Â
âTaron-âÂ
âI know. I know,â he whispered, taking your hand and pulling you outside into the cooler evening air. âWhen you left, you didnât let me-â
âT-â
âLet me say this, please,â he begged.Â
He grabbed both of your hands and held them tightly, taking a deep breath and looking directly at you. Your nerves bubbled in the pit of your tummy as you watched him, breaths heavy.Â
âWhen you left, you asked me what you were to me. I couldnât physically get the words out. You were there, telling me that you were suffocating, and then you asked me what you were to me. I knew that if I told you that I was falling in love with you, that you would feel even more suffocated. I was losing you and I didnât want you to feel obligated to stay if you knew how I felt. So I couldnât tell you. I couldnât tell you that I bought an extra hoodie because I knew you liked to steal mine and I wanted you to have one just for you. I couldnât tell you that I was excited to get home from work and see you in my flat cooking. I couldnât tell you that I admired your body and the curve of your bum against my hand. I couldnât tell you that you were the best thing that happened to me.âÂ
The wedding still went on loudly behind you, but you could only hear Taron. He was staring at you directly as he spoke, but his eyes kept flicking away from you, nerves taking over.Â
âI loved you. I still do, I think. In fact, no, I know that I still love you. You were the best thing that ever happened to me and losing you was the worst thing thatâs ever happened to me.âÂ
You stood completely still, breathing jagged and unable to say anything. Everything you wanted to hear two years prior was being said and you couldnât move. For two years youâd thought that youâd done Taron a favour by leaving. That by putting your feelings last, you could save you both the heartbreak. For two years you grieved the loss of the person you loved more than anything, not knowing that he felt the same.Â
âY/N? Y/N please say something. If Iâve just fucked everything up then I am so sorry. I know you didnât come here today to hear me go on and on about how I-âÂ
You crashed your lips with his, holding his face in place as you stood on your tiptoes. He grabbed your waist and pulled you into his front. You gasped, giving him the perfect opportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth, swiping it against yours over and over. His hands held you in place, slowly reaching down to hold your bum. Instinctively, you jumped up and wrapped your legs around his waist, letting him walk you blindly to a spot less visible to everyone in the tent behind you.Â
âI love you,â he whispered against your lips.Â
âI love you too,â you smiled against his. âYou have no idea how long Iâve wanted to say that.âÂ
******
ââVe missed you so much,â Taron whimpered into your mouth, his hips jerking forward messily as your head tugged his cock slowly and softly. âJesus fuck, that feels so good.âÂ
âI didnât expect this when I got the invitation,â you told him honestly. âI donât even know what this is.â
He moaned, a shudder dancing down his spine as his breathing picked up. Your hand wrapped around him perfectly, stroking his length as though youâd never stopped. Heâd craved your touch for so long that now he had it, he was worried he wouldnât ever want to stop.Â
âThis,â he stuttered, âis two idiots who couldnât tell one another how they felt at a pivotal moment finally confessing everythingâŚat their friendsâ wedding.âÂ
âFuck weâre at Sian and Elwynâs wedding.â You had only just realised that you were at a wedding, with over one hundred people in a teepee mere metres away from where you were with your hand wrapped around Taronâs dick and pulling out the sweetest moans that youâd missed from the pit of his tummy.Â
His hands roamed every part of your body that they physically could; your hips, the swell of your bum, your sides, your boobs, your neck, your thighs. A trail of goosebumps following the gentle trace of his fingers.Â
âIâve missed you too, though,â you added, pressing your lips to his in a passionate kiss.Â
He tensed when you quickened your pace wanting to feel him come undone. Your skin ignited when he dropped his head to your shoulder and sucked a delicate kiss to your exposed collarbone. His hand grabbed your wrist when he was getting close, halting your movements and kissing your neck again to muffle the moan that reverberated throughout his entire body.Â
âCan IâŚcan I taste you, please? Just one taste?âÂ
Bringing his face up to kiss him needily, you nodded, moaning as he dropped to his knees, not caring if they got stained from the bark floor. His hands found purchase on the sides of your knees and you shuddered at the sight when you peered down to see him looking up at you through his eyelashes.Â
Almost as if you were a china doll that he was scared to break, he lifted your dress softly, gliding his hands up the length of your legs and chuckling knowingly when a sheen of goosebumps popped up all over your thighs.Â
He pressed a soft kiss to your thigh before he hooked his fingers into the sides of your white lace underwear, pulling them down your legs torturously slowly, the cool evening air dancing against your exposed heat. You jerked forward, needing to feel him, and he looked up at you
âNow look whoâs impatient,â he smirked up at you, helping you step out of the underwear and popping it into the pocket of his shirt. âYouâve no idea how long Iâve waited to taste you again.âÂ
He rested his nose against the bottom of your tummy, tapping your left leg, silently instructing you to lift it over his shoulder. From your new position he had perfect access to your core. He licked his lips when he saw how wet you were, and he slipped his finger into your folds, drifting to your entrance where your arousal pooled. With a sigh of content, he pulled your wetness to your clit, circling it slowly a couple of times and resting his hand on your tummy to stop you from moving forward at the touch.Â
With your back against a tree, it was hard to get comfortable, but as soon as Taron pressed the most delicate of kisses to your folds, you didnât care. Your hips jerked forward and his nose nudged your clit, the sensation causing a tingling feeling in your lower belly. A feeling you hadnât felt in a long time.Â
You tried to grip onto his hair but the gel that slicked it back made it impossible. There was nothing to grip onto, nothing to muffle the moans that you couldnât hold in.Â
When he licked from your entrance to your clit, his own moan vibrating through your, you balled your hand into a fist and tried to use it to muffle your sounds. Taron continued to devour your centre. He lapped at your arousal like he hadnât drank in weeks. He was insatiable, focusing on one thing for no more than ten seconds at a time, needing to get as much of you as he could.Â
As he created a rhythm, he glided a hand up your front until he could grab your wrist, teasing your hand down for him to grip onto. You laced your fingers together, resting your hands at the middle of your abdomen, looking down at him and letting out another long, drawn out moan.Â
His eyes were partially closed, the feeling of giving you pleasure pleasuring him also. Your neck flexed when he pulled your clit into his mouth, sliding a finger into you and curving it up slightly. Even after two years, he knew exactly where to reach and he moaned into you when you jerked your hips forward. It was hard to hold your composure, and your leg was hurting from holding you up.Â
He added a second finger to the mix, bringing you excruciatingly close to orgasm. But right as your hand reached to grip his hair, the same way it did when you would sleep together regularly, he pulled away with a pop and helped you lower your leg to the ground, your dress falling to your knees once more.
You whimpered against him but he simply pressed a kiss to your lips. You could taste yourself on him and you wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him closer to you.Â
âWanna feel you coming undone around me.âÂ
âTaron,â you moaned softly, holding him in place as he held your bum and squeezed it not so subtly. âWanna feel you. Wanna feel you so fucking bad. Iâve missed you.âÂ
He smiled against your mouth, sliding his hands down to your thighs so that he could pick you up. Your legs wrapped around his waist as he pressed you further against the tree, the bark scratching your back but somehow still feeling good against your skin.Â
âDonât have a condom,â he muttered.Â
âDoesnât matter. Iâm on the pill and worst case I can go to a chemist tomorrow.â
Dropping his head into your shoulder, he gripped the base of his now throbbing cock with one hand and pressed it to your entrance, gathering some of your arousal before pressing into you. You moaned in unison, the feeling of being so beautifully stretched overwhelming. It had been a long while since you were stretched like that and Taron gave you a few moments to relax before he started to move.Â
His hips found a rhythm quickly, the rhythm he knew would have you coming undone within minutes. You mewled against him, panting against his lips when he moved to kiss you.Â
âForgot how perfect you feel wrapped around me like that. Missed you so fucking much.âÂ
âFeels so good. Gonna cum if you donât stop.âÂ
âI donât plan on stopping any time soon,â he chuckled, continuing to thrust up into you.Â
Your hands moved from his neck to his shoulders and down to his waist before making their way back up to his neck. You came undone before you could even comprehend what was happening, your legs tensing around his waist and your hands balling fists of his shirt tightly. A moan from the pit of your belly and the flutter of your walls against his cock had Taronâs head spinning, his own orgasm following suit.Â
âJesus Christ that wasâŚâÂ
âIntense?â You finished for him, kissing his lips. âBut the best kind of intense.âÂ
âIâm sorry I never told you how I felt that day.âÂ
âIs it bad Iâm not? Had you have told me, who knows what would have happened. But look at us now.â
âI wonder if Sian will know what weâve just got up to.âÂ
âI think she will,â you laughed, dropping your legs from his waist and shakily grabbing your pants from his pocket, lifting them over your legs and pulling them on while Taron situated himself in his trousers. âI havenât had sex like that in a long time.âÂ
Taronâs eyebrows lifted, smirk playing at his lips. âOh yeah? Sex like what?âÂ
You swatted his chest, your lips failing you and smiling. âSex somewhere that I could get caught at any moment. But also sex that makes me feel like my entire body is on fire. Only you have made me feel like that.âÂ
âOi, you two.âÂ
The voice came from the clearing just behind you, and you peered around the tree to see Sian standing with her hands on her hips and eyebrows raised. A heat made its way to your cheeks and Taron chuckled.Â
âYes, Sian?â He asked innocently.
âIâm very happy that youâve made up and just given each other what I am assuming to be a mindblowing orgasm, but weâre about to cut the cake and it would be nice to have everyone there. Think you can keep it in your pants for another hour?âÂ
âWeâll be right there.âÂ
Sian walked back into the teepees with a loud laugh and Taron took your hand in his, guiding you out of the woodland and towards the table where youâd eaten your food. You started to shiver when you were in the open again, so he draped his jacket over your shoulders and pulled you into his side, situating you on your seat before he sat down himself, smirking to Sian who shook her head playfully at the two of you.Â
âSheâs never going to let us live this downâ he whispered into your ear before pressing a kiss to your cheek. âEver.âÂ

Hey, Hi, Hello!
I am alive, and I've missed posting here! I have a question for you all.
Who would like a Right Here, Waiting Christmassy blurb this month??? Anyone?
0 notes
Hey everyone.
I am alive, I promise. But since finishing the last fic I just havenât been in the headspace for this blog đ Partly because I havenât seen Taron in a little while and partly because I did find a hyper fixation thatâs been taking up a lot of my time and that has been really fun to be a part of.
Iâll still be checking my notifications and messages over here but my posts may become sparse as Iâve decided to take a little hiatus from posting much. It does mean there may not be a Christmas fic this year but I may try to do a one shot of some description to fill the void.
I hope youâre all doing good. I miss you!!
If you want to follow my current journey within the Criminal Minds realm, I have a blog @drgenius-reid if youâre interested.

Word Count: 5.8k
Warnings: Alcohol consumption, explicit language, oral sex (f receiving), smut, sex in public,
Also: Sian is pronounced âsharnâ. Trust me, itâs part of my first name and Iâve been using it for almost 24 years lmaoÂ
You started to shiver when you were in the open again, so he draped his jacket over your shoulders and pulled you into his side, situating you on your seat before he sat down himself, smirking to Sian who shook her head playfully at the two of you.Â
âSheâs never going to let us live this downâ he whispered into your ear before pressing a kiss to your cheek. âEver.âÂ

RHW: Epilogue
Story Page / Playlist / Wattpad / AO3
PLEASE READ: The day is here. Right Here, Waiting is officially over. It's been a ride, to say the least. I've laughed and I've cried, but I've enjoyed every single minute of it. @brayndilyn and I turned a tiny little idea into something that I am infinitely proud of. Her love, support and help has been amazing and this story has given me a friend that I will cherish forever, so thank you, B!
You may notice that this epilogue is set on the 5th of August, 2023...TODAY. I wanted to do something fun and cool and having the story end on the day that it ends just seemed so fitting. I hope you enjoy the epilogue as much as you've loved the rest of the story. I'm off on a little hiatus now but I'll be back soon.

August 5th, 2023
After a wet July filled with continuous torrential downpours, August brought with it the promise of the sunshine that everybody craved. Taron and Liliana had quickly escaped the hustle and bustle of London at the first sign of sun to spend the week in Aberystwyth with their family.Â
Liliana was excited to spend Matildaâs twelfth birthday with her. Matilda had started high school in September and had been so busy that Liliana hadnât been able to spend as much time with her as she would have liked. Having a week to see her as often as she liked made her insides jump with excitement.Â
The second day they were in Wales, it was a warm Saturday morning and Liliana woke up before Taron. He nestled into her back with his nose tucked into the back of her neck. Liliana lay in bed for a little while after sheâd woken up just to enjoy Taronâs touch on her skin, but when she grew a little too warm, she climbed out and pulled on some leggings.Â
Tina was already downstairs when Liliana slipped into the living room, and she turned her attention away from the TV to smile at Liliana.Â
âGood morning, honey. Sleep well?âÂ
Liliana nodded. âI did, thank you. Taronâs still sleeping but I donât think itâll be too long until heâs awake.âÂ
âYou came downstairs,â Tina chuckled. âI give him a solid fifteen minutes before he comes in here looking for you.âÂ
âI was going to say more like ten. I had to try so hard to pull myself away from him. Iâm going to go make a cup of coffee. Would you like one?âÂ
Tina shook her head softly and held her mug up. âIâve got one already, lovely. Thank you though. Iâll come and chat to you in the kitchen, Iâve had a bit of an idea I want to run by you.âÂ
Liliana walked through to the kitchen with Tina close behind her. Sheâd been at Tinaâs house overnight countless times in the almost eighteen months that she and Taron had been together, but it wasnât until that morning that she realised just how at ease she was there.Â
She didnât feel the need to tiptoe everywhere she went in fear of making too much noise with her steps. She didnât stop in doorways to listen and make sure that nobody was in a room before she entered.Â
And she felt completely free to make herself a drink or get something to eat without having to ask or feel like a burden. She let out a shaky breath as she grabbed the mug that Tina had bought specifically for her, and she blinked back tears.Â
âSo this plan?â Liliana said to try and distract herself from the emotions racing through her.Â
Tina settled herself on one of the dining chairs and watched Liliana glide around the kitchen effortlessly. âI was thinking, because the sun has finally decided to make an appearance and because I want to celebrate getting to spend the entire week with my two oldest babies, what if we have a barbecue this afternoon?âÂ
Lilianaâs heart swelled at Tina calling her one of her babies, and she turned to her with an emotional smile. That sounds really lovely. Taron and I could go to the shops if you needed? It wouldnât be a bother.âÂ
âNo, itâs okay,â Tina insisted. âIf youâre okay to watch the girls for me, Iâll go. Plus, if Iâm being completely honest, I need Taron to clean the barbecue before we use it.âÂ
Liliana let out a small chuckle. âIâm sure heâll be thrilled to do that. I ought to be making him a drink too, huh? Considering itâs been five minutes since I got downstairs.âÂ
âIt might be a good idea. Do you think Eliza would be okay with Matilda coming around today? She could spend the night too, if sheâd like.âÂ
The corners of Lilianaâs lips curled up into a grin as she nodded her head. âThat would be amazing. Thank you, Tina. But please let me give you some money towards the food and anything extra. Itâs the least I can do for everything youâve done for Taron and me recently.âÂ
Tina shook her head firmly. âNope. I wonât take money from you, Lili. Itâs what family does.âÂ
âExactly. Family helps each other out. Let me give you the money for the crisps and things at least then.âÂ
âLiliana Esme,â Tina chastised lightly. Liliana looked down sheepishly and it took her a short while to finally look back up at Tina.Â
âSorry.âÂ
Tina chuckled with a small wink. âThereâs been this idea floating around in my head for a few months now but I didnât know when, or how to bring it up in the best way.âÂ
Liliana furrowed her brows as she put the used tea bag into the small caddy next to the kitchen.Â
âI love you just as much as I love Taron and the girls. If anything happened to you, I would be beside myself. You are amazing, and I wish youâd had the grown up you needed in your life when you were little. Iâve been thinkingâŚif you feel comfortable enough, this is, that you could maybe call me mum? You absolutely do not have to, I just thoughtâŚoh I donât even know, I just thought it might be nice.âÂ
Lilianaâs breath stopped momentarily as a rush of contrasting emotions filled her mind. Tina had been more like a mum to Liliana throughout her teenage years than Eliza had, and sheâd accidentally slipped and called Tina âmumâ on a few occasions. But knowing that she had Tinaâs blessingâthat she would finally be able to call someone mum again, and knowing that she had a mum who loved her, it sent something weird zapping through her body and she couldnât control the emotion as she wasnât quite sure what it was.Â
âThatâs truly only if you feel comfortable though,â Tina continued. She could sense the difference in Lilianaâs demeanour and wanted to diffuse anything before it got too bad and Liliana shut down. The last thing Tina wanted to do was upset Liliana. âI wouldnât ever want you to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable.Â
âItâs justâŚI want you to have a mum that you feel safe with. I want you to have a mum that loves you how you deserve to be loved, because my god you deserve to be loved, Liliana. Anyway, would Matilda prefer hot dogs or beef burgers for the barbecue? Iâll be getting cheese and doing some fried onions. If sheâs anything like you, Iâll be buying Tesco out of onions.âÂ
Liliana breathed out a slightly teary laugh. She was thankful for the sudden change in subject. It wasnât that she didnât want to call Tina mum. If anything she would have loved to. There was just something holding her back.Â
Things with Taron were perfect, to put it swiftly, but she knew just how quickly things changed in her life; how quickly things went bad. The last thing she wanted was for her to finally feel comfortable enough in a family for it all to be pulled from under her. It had happened before, and she swore that she wouldnât let it happen again.Â
âYou may need to buy Tesco out of onions. Chances are sheâll probably have one of each. She isnât fussy, bless her. You could put any food in front of her and she would give it a go. I donât know where she got that from, I was so fussy when I was younger.âÂ
âYou werenât fussy,â Tina said seriously. âYou just hadnât had the chance to try a lot of foods when you were younger so you were nervous to sway away from what you knew. I never had an issue with you trying new things. But if she likes both, Iâll make sure thereâs both. The girls are the same. Iâll get Taron to clean the barbecue when he comes downstairs and weâll be good to go. Iâm surprised he hasnât come down yet, itâs been ten minutes.âÂ
As if on cue, Taron strolled into the kitchen with his arms stretched above his head. He yawned as he made his way over to Tina to kiss her on the cheek.Â
âMorning, mam. I heard my name. What are you talking about me for?âÂ
Tina looked at Liliana and they shook their heads simultaneously with small laughs that made Taron look between them with raised eyebrows.Â
âI bet I didnât,â he laughed as he stalked towards Liliana. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her lips gently. âYou came downstairs without me.âÂ
âUnlike some, I wake up early and donât want to spend all day in bed,â Liliana chuckled playfully before she kissed Taron again quickly. âYour mum suggested that we have a barbecue this afternoon. Weâre going to watch the girls while she runs to Tesco and Iâm going to call Matilda soon and see if she wants to come. Eliza wonât have a problem with it.âÂ
Taron twisted his body until his hips rested against the worktop. He wrapped an arm around Lilianaâs waist and tucked her into his side before he grabbed her mug of coffee to steal some.Â
âOi,â Liliana chastised with wide eyes, âthatâs mine, you bugger. Thereâs a mug behind you that I made for you.âÂ
âYours always tastes nicer,â Taron shrugged. âA barbecue sounds amazing though. Do you need me to clean it then, mam? Itâs not been used forâŚI donât even know how long. The chances are itâs a right mess and will need a good scrub.âÂ
Tina licked her lips as she stood to put her empty mug in the sink next to Taron. âFunny you should ask,â she said playfully.Â
Taron shook his head in fake disbelief. âI knew I heard you talking about me. Iâll get it cleaned this morning for you so it can sit for a while before I light it. Can I put towards the shopping? I donât like the idea of you buying everything.âÂ
âI already told Liliana that I wonât accept any money from the two of you for it. You are my babies and I want to treat you. Am I okay to leave the girls with you now? Theyâre due to be waking up soon but I have a feeling Tesco will be packed if I leave it much longer.âÂ
âThatâs fine,â Liliana said quietly before she leaned up to kiss Taronâs cheek. âIâm going to go and call Matilda. Iâll be right back, babe.âÂ
***
As Taron had thought, the barbecue was in need of a deep clean. It wouldnât take much to get it clean but Taron got the power washer out to help speed things up. In a feeble attempt to stop his t-shirt from getting wet and dirty, he pulled it away from his body and threw it just inside the back door where it would be sage.Â
While he cleaned, Liliana and the three young girls all laid out on blankets on the grass together. The three younger girls played on Taronâs Nintendo Switch while Liliana read a book. After working on her second book for so long, it was nice to read for pleasure rather than for work. Sheâd made sure to pack multiple books for their week away so that she wouldnât run out of reading material.Â
Liliana read her book until Taron rubbed his palms on the back of his jeans to dry them off somewhat. Heâd distracted her so well that when Matilda scooted closer to her, she hadnât flinched. It wasnât until Matilda tapped her on the leg twice that Liliana diverted her attention away from her boyfriend to her little sister.Â
âThank you for letting me come,â Matilda said quietly while she hugged Liliana from the side.Â
Liliana turned to her and smiled fondly. For all of their differences, they were still so alike. They had the same personality, and Liliana could feel the love that radiated from Matilda in the small moments.Â
âYou are so welcome, Little Bug. Are you excited to start year eight in September? I canât believe that youâre already in your second year of high school.âÂ
âIâm a little nervous. Year seven was fun but the teachers have said weâre really starting to get into things this next year.âÂ
âYear eight is a little harder than year seven.â Liliana wasnât the type of person to sugar coat anything when it came to Matilda. She wanted her to know that things could be hard, and then give her ways around making it easier. âBut it will go by so fast and you are so smart that you wonât even be able to tell the difference. Before you know it, youâll be in year eleven and doing your GCSEs. High school can be hard, and I donât want you to let anybody tell you otherwise.Â
âAnd people can be awful, trust me on that one. But you are so headstrong, and so incredibly smart that I know youâre going to do amazing. If anybody starts to give you troubleâstudents or teachersâlet me know. Taron and I went to that school and most of the teachers we had are still there and I can talk to them. Mr Francis, he could probably tell you some stories.âÂ
âHeâs my English teacher!â Matilda exclaimed happily. âHeâs always really fun.âÂ
âThat sounds like Mr Francis. He was Taron and meâs English teacher too. He caught us passing notes one day and I donât think I will ever live that down.âÂ
Matildaâs eyes widened in glee. âIâm going to ask him about you both in September. Hey, Lili? Do you think that you and Taron will ever get married?âÂ
Liliana took a deep breath and moved her attention back to Taron. His back tensed as he cleaned and Liliana couldnât help but want to run her hands down the length of it and let them settle just inside the waistband of his jeans. She shook her head before her daydream turned into something erotic and turned back to Matilda.Â
She leaned in close and whispered, âI donât know, Tilly, but I hope we do. I love him a helluva lot and it would be nice to be married to him.âÂ
âWould you have kids?âÂ
âI donât know, Til. Thatâs something that Taron and I would have to talk about one day. Why? Do you want us to get married and have babies?âÂ
Matilda nodded. âYeah. Iâve always wanted a brother. And who doesnât love babies?âÂ
Liliana chuckled and hugged Matilda to her side. Though she kept her eyes on Taron. Matilda had planted a thought in Lilianaâs mind and it had turned into a whole daydream about one day being able to call Taron her husband. The thought made her insides turn to mush and she couldnât hold back the grin that took over her face.Â
Unbeknownst to anyone else in the garden, Taron had heard Matildaâs question and had strategically taken a break from using the power washer in the hopes that he would hear how Liliana answered. Taron had known since March of the previous year that he wanted to spend the rest of his time on Earth with Liliana.Â
In the April of 2022, he had designed and bought a ring that he hoped she would love, ready for whenever Liliana was comfortable enough to take the next step and solidify their relationship further.Â
The past eighteen months had been utter bliss for Taron. He finally had the woman of his dreams and his best friend all rolled into one. But he knew that Liliana still faced her inner demons every day and he was willing to wait as long as she needed before he asked her the most important question.Â
A couple of months after their trip to Scotland, Liliana had moved in with him and that was enough for Taron. Liliana was the first person he saw when he woke up, and the last person he saw when he went to bed. If they lived like that for the rest of their lives without the titles of husband and wife, he was sure that he wouldnât have minded.Â
Five months prior, when they celebrated their one year anniversary, he had casually brought up the idea of marriage but Liliana had been hesitant. She had drawn in on herself again and Taron knew that it was too much too soon. He apologised for bringing it up and made it up to her again and again that night, whispering sweet nothings into her ear continuously.Â
He had hoped that the idea of marriage wouldnât scare Liliana so much, and heâd come up with a tentative plan to propose to her in November. It would be the two year anniversary of when they reunited at Lilianaâs first book launch. But Taron carried the ring with him wherever he went, more so that he didnât forget where he had hidden it, but also because he was worried about how Liliana might react if she saw it.Â
The second he heard Liliana tell Matilda that she wanted to marry him, he thanked his lucky stars that heâd taken the ring to Aberystwyth with him and that it was stashed in the bottom of his suitcase where there was no risk of Liliana coming across it. He decided to seize the moment, and a plan started to form in his head.Â
Liliana and Matilda had continued to whisper while Taron had his epiphany, and luckily they hadnât noticed that heâd stopped cleaning. He closed the lip of the barbecue softly so that it didnât make too loud of a noise.Â
âWell, I believe it will do for our spur of the moment party this afternoon.âÂ
Liliana looked up at Taron and smiled happily, âGreat job, babe. It looks clean enough to eat off of!â She winked at him and he gave her a sarcastic look while he planted his hands on both hips and wiggled them joyfully. âYou are something else.âÂ
âYou got that right, baby. Iâm going to go and get cleaned up and put my top back on before I join in on all the fun you four are having. Do any of you want a drink while Iâm inside?âÂ
âCan you bring us all another can, please? Thank you.â
Taron went back into the house and continued to work on his plan to get Liliana alone for a little while. He hoped that if he timed it right, they could be back at the house to celebrate with everyone before the barbecue was in full swing.Â
He bounded up the stairs two at a time and changed into a pair of shorts and a new t-shirt before he grabbed the ring from his suitcase. Before he left the bedroom, Taron checked in the mirror to make sure that the outline of the small, velvet box wasnât obvious.Â
As luck would have it, Tina walked in the front door as Taron got to the bottom of the stairs. She jumped a little but chuckled when she saw that it was only Taron.Â
âGod you have a way of sneaking up on me,â she laughed.Â
âIt was totally not on purpose,â Taron laughed. âLet me help you with these bags. What did you buy, woman? Theyâre heavier than the girls.âÂ
âHush your mouth, child. Though I may have gotten carried away with snacks. So the chances are weâre eating all of this over the next few days.âÂ
âThat sounds like a plan to me. I actually need your help with something.âÂ
âSure, baby. What do you need?âÂ
Tine looked at her son with a puzzled look plastered on her face. She could tell that Taron was up to something but she couldnât fathom what it could possibly be. He put the bags he carried down on the table and then turned to his mum fully.Â
He checked the back garden to make sure that none of the girls were on their way inside before he stuffed his hand into his pocket and gripped the small box that heâd kept well hidden for almost two years.Â
âI happened to overhear Liliana telling Matilda that she hopes that we get married one day. And I figured, why not ask her today?â He pulled the box out of his pocket and snapped it open to show his mum the ring. âThis wasnât the plan but I canât wait any longer. Itâs been such a long time coming. Sheâs the one, mum. Liliana is the one that Iâm going to spend the rest of my life with.âÂ
Tinaâs jaw was on the floor and she had tears in her eyes. It wasnât a surprise that Taron wanted to propose. Sheâd known how Taron felt about Liliana for years, but she hadnât had a clue that he already had a ring.Â
âI was going to tell you that I planned to propose but I just canât wait any longer.âÂ
âOh my goodness, this is amazing. My baby boy is going to propose!â Tinaâs voice got louder and Taron immediately turned to the back garden.Â
âMam,â he shushed her through gritted teeth.Â
âIâm sorry, honey, this is just so exciting! What do you need my help with?âÂ
Taron closed the box and stuffed it back in his pocket so that there wasnât a risk of anybody else seeing it before the time was right. âI need you to distract Rosie, Marie and Matilda while I get Liliana up to Constitution Hill. I thought it only fitting that I ask her there. Itâs one of the most important places to us.âÂ
Tina nodded in understanding and pulled Taron in for a long hug. âOf course, that would be perfect. And leave it to me, Iâll make sure the youngest are good while youâre gone. Iâm so proud of you, little boy. And Iâm so happy that Liliana is ready for forever. I told her that she can call me mum if she wants to and she got emotional. Sheâs really starting to open up more and Iâm so happy.âÂ
âI think sheâs finally ready to accept that sheâs part of a family now. I just want to make it official. Iâm going to go and get her. We wonât be too long, promise.âÂ
âTake your time, Taron.âÂ
âThanks, mam. I love you.âÂ
âI love you too.âÂ
Taron hugged his mum once more before he walked to the back door and admired the four girls at the top of the garden. He slowly made his way over towards them.Â
âHey, Love Bug, come here for a second,â Taron called to Liliana as he neared where she rested on the grass. He opened his arms and Liliana automatically stepped into them when she got up. âMumâs just got back from Tesco and itâs such a lovely day out. What do you say we got for a walk quickly? I was thinking about Constitution Hill. Itâs been so long since weâve been up there.âÂ
Liliana gave Taron the same puzzled look his mum had and asked, âBut what about the barbecue? Surely we could help your mum get everything ready? Sheâs already done so much by doing the shopping on her own. I canât leave her to prepare everything on her own too.âÂ
âShe had mentioned asking the girls to help her prepare everything, and you know how much they all love to help out in the kitchen. Especially when Matilda is here.âÂ
Liliana was still visibly sceptical, but she couldnât deny that she would love some alone time with Taron. âSure, babe, that sounds like a great idea. But letâs take the funicular up so we arenât gone too long. I would still like to help your mum prepare some stuff.âÂ
âMy thoughts exactly,â Taron smiled as he leaned down to kiss Liliana. âCome on, letâs get going.âÂ
He wrapped his arm around Lilianaâs shoulder and walked them towards the garden gate that led them down the side of the house and to the street. Matilda looked up at Liliana and the crease in her brow was obvious even from where Liliana was.Â
âWeâre just going to take a quick walk up the hill. Weâll be back before the barbecue starts, I promise,â Liliana assured Matilda.Â
Matilda smiled and gave her a small wave goodbye before going back to playing games with the other two. Liliana waved at Tina as they passed the kitchen window. She could have sworn that Tina winked at her when she passed by, but the sun was streaming in through the window so Liliana thought that it must have been the sunlight getting in her eyes.Â
***
Liliana had clocked the grey clouds making their way to town before Taron had, but she was sure the forecast hadnât predicted rain so she hadnât mentioned anything. Though she wished she had when she felt the first drops of rain hit her skin. Taron groaned loudly and grabbed her hand to pull her into the nearest empty doorway.Â
He pushed her against the wall softly and looked down at her with so much love that Liliana could physically feel her heart pulling towards Taronâs. Her hands slid up his front until she could pull him closer to her by the neck.Â
Her lips brushed over his and as she was about to pull away, Taron leaned forward and kissed her passionately. She sighed dreamily into him and held onto him tighter. When they had been caught in the rain and took shelter in a shop doorway all those sixteen years before, all Liliana had wanted was for Taron to kiss her.Â
Liliana smiled into the kiss and Taron copied. He thought the same thing and without needing to use words, they gave each other what their younger selves wanted.Â
âDo you think theyâd be happy?â Liliana asked when they pulled apart to catch their breath.Â
âWho?âÂ
âOur eighteen year old selves. Can you imagine telling them that in sixteen years they would be back hiding from the rain but happily kissing one another because they were in a relationship and had been for over a year?âÂ
Taron thought for a moment as he held Liliana close. The rain had stopped already but they made no moves to continue their walk. He let his hands trail up to Lilianaâs waist where he held her against him. He just hoped that she wouldnât reach her hands down too low where she would feel the ring box nestled safely in his pocket.Â
âI think theyâd be annoyed that it took us so long to say something to one another,â he said with a small smile. âBut then I think they would be so happy. I know younger me would be. All I wanted that day was to kiss you.âÂ
âAll I wanted was for you to kiss me.âÂ
âThen this is for younger us,â he smiled before he leaned down to plant another kiss to Lilianaâs welcoming lips.
***
Thankfully the rain hadnât stopped the funicular and it was running when they got to the bottom of Constitution Hill. Liliana climbed in first and took a seat on the small bench to the left. Taron squeezed in next to her and put his arm around her shoulder happily.Â
âThank you for indulging me, Lil. I love spending time with everyone at home but I wanted a little bit of uninterrupted alone time with you.âÂ
Nobody else stepped onto the funicular and as it started to carry them up the hill, Taron leaned in and kissed Liliana. It was deep and passionate, and the passion behind it caught Liliana off guard momentarily. Though she leaned in and kissed him back just as fervently. It didnât matter how much time passed, kissing Taron was still her favourite feeling in the world.Â
âThank you for suggesting this, T,â she panted when Taron pulled away. âI agree, it is very nice to have some alone time with you. No funny business though, we are still in public and the ride up is only a few minutes.â Liliana wagged a finger at Taron and he put his hands up in surrender with a devilish grin.Â
âI wouldnât dream of it, Love Bug. But thereâs nothing saying we canât have a cheeky make out session, right?â Taron winked at Liliana and leaned in to kiss her again.Â
By the time they pulled apart, they were nearing the top of the hill. Taron grabbed Lilianaâs hand as he stepped out so that he could help her climb out of the carriage safely. She thanked him softly and leaned her hand on his shoulder as they walked.Â
The closer they got to the edge of the hill, the more Taronâs nerves started to hit him. His throat got dry and his hands had started to shake. He hoped that if Liliana could feel the shake, she would think that he was a little on the chillier side. The drop in temperature at the top of the hill worked in his favour.Â
Liliana pulled away from Taron and walked towards the edge faster than Taron. The views never failed to amaze her and the second she saw the entire bay, her lips curled into a smile and she took a deep breath. Her love for Aberystwyth grew once again when sheâd started to go back with Taron. She no longer dreaded being there because she knew that she would be with the people who loved her the most.Â
The sunshine that had come back quickly after the rain had stopped, and by the time that they got off of the funicular, nobody would have known that it had been raining ten minutes previously thanks to the almost cloudless sky that had taken over.Â
Liliana towed Taron in the direction of their spot while she soaked up the sunshine, her head tilted up to get as much vitamin C as she could. They had never officially declared what part of the hill was their spot, but they both knew. They had spent countless hours up there talking about life while watching the clouds.Â
It was where Liliana had felt the safest when she was a teenager, and it was where they had realised that they had fallen for each other all those years ago. Liliana stood right at the edge and looked out at the sea. Small waves crashed against the bottom of the hill and Liliana matched her breathing to each crash.Â
There was a faint smell of seaweed in the air and the Y Consti cafe behind them wafted the smell of freshly ground coffee into the air. Taron stepped next to Liliana and took her hand in his. They stood and stared out at the sea for a moment, taking in the warm breeze and the few fluffy clouds that dotted the sky.Â
As Liliana was about to tell Taron that she was enjoying the moment with him, she felt him tug on her hand. When she turned to face him, he was lowering himself onto his left knee. He took the ring box from his pocket and Lilianaâs breath caught in her throat.Â
âTaron,â she managed to choke out as she squeezed his hand tightly. Tears had already found their way to her eyes and she couldnât help the ones that fell down the length of her cheeks.Â
âDonât say anything yet,â he said quickly before he gulped. âPlease. I want to say this before I forget anything I want to say.âÂ
Liliana nodded, allowing Taron the room to say whatever he needed to. Though she knew what was coming. Her heart thumped rapidly deep within her chest and tiny drops of sweat started to build on the small of her back as the anticipation of what was about to happen poured over her.Â
When Matilda had asked her earlier in the day if she was going to marry Taron, Liliana hadnât expected for Taron to propose to her that day. Things started to fall into place as she watched Taron. Sheâd not taken notice of it before but she should have realised that Taron had stopped cleaning at the right time, and then the next thing she knew, he whisked her away to their spot and he was on one knee in front of her.Â
She swiped away the tears that had started to fall so that she could look at Taron clearly, but she couldnât wipe them away fast enough. They were falling freely down her cheeks and she saw a couple of people out of the corner of her eye watching the scene unfold in front of them.Â
âIt has been almost sixteen years since I said goodbye to you on that train platform,â Taron started through a shaky breath. âWhen the train pulled out, I remember wondering if I was ever going to see you again. It was like I was losing the thing that mattered the most to me. When I got home, I sat in your chair and I just cried. I didnât want you to leave, but I didnât know if I was allowed to say anything. I remember thinking that Iâd lost you for good.âÂ
Taron paused and took a deep, shaky breath. Liliana wanted nothing more than to reach out and cup his cheek, to pull him into her body and hold him until the end of time. She wanted to be the one to look after him. But she held back so that he could continue in his own time. Liliana was in no rush. They had the rest of their lives to look forward to.Â
âThen one morning when I was checking my mail, I found an invitation to a book launch. The second I read the name on top, Liliana Esme, I could feel the hole in my heart shrink a little.âÂ
Liliana could remember making the guest list for the book launch as if it were only yesterday. Sheâd been asked to give a list of names of people who meant the most to her. When Taronâs name popped into her mind, she couldnât decide what to do. It had already been over a decade since sheâd last seen him, and a whole lifetime had occurred in that time.Â
She knew that it was a long shot that he would turn up, but she invited him anyway. And she would send that invite again just to have Taron by her side again.Â
âYou have always been my safe space, Lil, and I have loved you since we were eighteen years old. I wake up every morning and fall in love with you even more. The hole in my heart healed when I saw you again, and every day with you makes the scar grow smaller.Â
âThese past eighteen months with you have been the best of my life. Itâs been a continuous adventure and I canât wait to relive every single one for the rest of my life. I have loved dancing in Washington Square Park with you; eating croissants on a balcony in the middle of Paris; swimming in the Mediterranean Sea; running into the sea down there in the middle of the night in just our underwear.âÂ
Liliana laughed through the tears that streamed freely down her face, and she held Taronâs hand tighter, if that were even possible. A stray tear fell down Taronâs cheek and Liliana leaned forward to wipe it away with her free hand. Taron leaned into her touch and let the corner of his lips turn up into a gentle smile.Â
âLiliana, you are the strongest person I know, and the love that you show everyone around you knows no bounds. You love so hard, and with everything in you. Yet you struggle to love yourself, even now. Itâs almost as though you are so busy loving everyone else that you forget to share that love with yourself.Â
âI want to be the person who shows you love when you donât feel like you can show it to yourself. I do not want you to ever feel the way you felt growing up. Youâve had me in your corner forever, but I am going to prove to you that Iâm not leaving that corner. Not for one second. On your hardest days, I will be there. On days where weâre frustrated with one another, I will be in your corner. I will be in your corner no matter what.Â
âI want you to feel loved every second of every day. And one day, I hope that youâll have children in your corner. Children that you brought into the world. ThatâŚwe brought into the world.âÂ
Liliana took a deep breath. The thought of children wasnât as scary as she would have imagined, but she was nowhere near ready to think about it yet. Though she knew Taron wouldnât push anything, ever.Â
âYou are going to make an amazing mum one day, Lil. I have no doubt about it. I love you more than I ever thought it possible to love someone. You are still my safe space, my guiding light, my strength on my weakest days, and my warmth on my coldest days. I want us to be a family. I want us to start a family that will always show you love. â
Taron took another shaky breath and looked up at Liliana. His eyes were steady as they fixated on Lilianaâs, and his hands stopped shaking just enough that he was able to snap the ring box open.Â
Lilianaâs breath caught in the back of her throat as she looked at the delicate ring in front of her. It was everything she could have imagined and so much more. The sapphire and diamond ring glistened beautifully in the sun that shone down around them.Â
The smile she gave Taron was so big that it hurt her cheeks and she could barely see in front of her. But her smile told Taron everything he needed to know. She was ready. Liliana was ready to start the next chapter of her life. She was ready to be a wife, ready to take on the world with Taron, and ready to open up her life to him wholly.Â
âLiliana Esme,â Taron continued through a smile equally as wide as Lilianaâs, âwill you marry me?â
